Chapter 30

Synestra’s P.O.V.“Good morning, I thought it was time we met. I hope you enjoy the breakfast. If I remember correctly I used your mom’s exact recipe.” A deep husky voice sounded behind me. I felt my body go stiff at the sound of the voice. I could feel eyes on my back. I was terrified to turn around. I tried to steady my nervous breathing, reminding myself that I had power now too. I slowly turned in my seat coming face to face with a man I had never met but knew his face all too well. I was looking at my own face, older and more manly of course but the resemblance was uncanny. “Nice to meet you. I am your father, Valac.”There was no denying it, this man was my father. He had the same raven hair as I did, the same almond shaped eyes. Though his eyes seemed to almost glow a deep crimson red that had me entranced. I had never

Chapter 31

Synestra’s P.O.V.“You are right. You are not the first, there have been two others.  The first was Damien, he obviously had no choice but to go with his father’s side. The other I have just found out about as well. A boy, your age although he does not appear to have inherited the powers of either of his parents. I have been keeping an eye on him over the past few days and he is erratic and unpredictable. He is part of the reason I decided to reach out to you. I believe you are in danger. This boy believes you have taken his power and he is determined to get it back.” He finished with a grim look in his eye.“I don't understand. How could he know what I am and why would he think I have taken his power?” I asked.“Because my child,” Valac began. “He is your t

Chapter 32

Damien’s P.O.V.The night was finally here, October 30, Devil’s night. It was also Synestra’s 18th birthday. I desperately wanted to spend the day with her, but it had become somewhat of a tradition for the band to host a concert and party in Detroit on this night. Detroit was the city that made the day what it had become, and fans travelled from all over the world to be there for this one night. It was a night of wickedness and perversion, mischief, and mayhem. It was the night I was born for the night I waited all year for. We called it the Hallowicked Masquerade, everyone came in costumes and masks. We found humans feel much more comfortable engaging in evil doings when others could not see their face. When the plane landed in Detroit, we were met by thousands of

Chapter 33

Synestra’s P.O.V.I sat in the twins living room waiting for Albert to come back with whatever he was waiting to show me. Aly looked dumbfounded. She was staring at me, or may through me, I wasn't sure which. She had not spoken a word since I told them what I was and part of me was terrified that she either thought I was crazy or dangerous and wanted nothing to do with me anymore. Aly continued to sit staring at me, her strawberry blonde curls piled on top of her head in a messy bun. “Would you say something, cause right now I feel like you are trying to decide if you should lock me away ro tell me to leave and never come back.” I said nervously. “No, no, I meant what I said we are always here for you, Syn. I just keep thinking back to when we were little when we first became frie

Chapter 34

Damien’s P.O.V. She was here, I wasn't sure how she was here or why, but she was here.  She looked like a goddess. Her Raven hair was blowing in the wind, the light from the fires all around us, together with magnificent black wings sprouting from her back made her look as if she was born to be the queen of hell. ‘You look amazing, love. When did you get your wings?” I asked “I’m not really sure where they came from. Or this outfit to be honest but I like it. I feel like a badass Aphrodite.” she laughed. “But how am I here. One minute I was standing in the twins’ living room thinking about being here and then I could feel your presence in my mind. Then boom I was here.”“It is your eightee

Chapter 35

Synestra’s P.O.V.We left the club after a few more drinks. I didn’t know what had come over me. I was never the type of girl to have even considered going through with the things we had just done, and in public no less. Being with Damien made me feel like a different person. The kind of person who had no inhibitions, who wasn’t afraid to give in to her darkest desires. I liked how I felt with him, who I was with him. Most of all I lived how there was no judgement from him. My mind instantly floated back to Gabe and I wondered how he would feel about this version of me. I was sure he would hate this me. I had betrayed his trust and the guilt ran over me like ice water on a cold night. I can't believe I hadn’t thought of Gabe sooner. He had not come to mind once while we were in the club. I told myself that maybe if he had I would have ended it before it got that far. The truth was I

Chapter 36

Synestra’s P.O.V.“You may want to listen to him, sis. Some people, like Damien and myself, are just born evil.”  I turned to see a familiar face with those hauntingly familiar eyes.“Syrus.” I acknowledged, my voice cracking somewhat. As I looked into his eyes I could see the resemblance to both Valac and my mother. More so than that, I could see his resemblance to me. It was so close I was shocked I hadn't noticed it before. He had the same raven colored hair, the same golden flecks in his eyes, the same lopsided grin when he was up to something. There was no doubt we were twins. I studied the look on his face trying to determine his motive for being here. I reached out with my mind trying to sense his emotions. An overwhelming sense of anger and betrayal washed over me. In that

Chapter 37

Synestra’s P.O.V. I took Damien by the hand and he snapped his fingers, in an instant we were surrounded by swirling black smoke. When the smoke dissipated we were back in Dallas. He had taken us to Albert and Aly's house. He must have sensed my need to check on my friend. I was feeling a little dizzy from the trip. I silently promised myself that I would have to practice travelling this way. I rushed into the house and ran straight to Aly’s room. Albert came following me into the room. “What are you doing, Syn? What happened to you? You were sitting here yesterday and then all of a sudden you were gone, where did you go?” Albert asked.“Have you seen Aly?” I asked, frantically.

Chapter 38

Synestra’s P.O.V. “Damien, you said you could make a deal to help right? I will make the deal, whatever it is.” Albert begged.“You don't understand,” Damien responded. “That would mean giving up your soul.”“Albert isn't making any deals with you.” I growled. “I will take my soul and help.”“You won't be giving up your soul anytime soon, angel. We will find her. We just have to think of another way.” Gabe responded quickly. My eyes shot over to Damien, hoping he would be more apt to listen to me and make the deal I was offering. “I am afraid the angel is right, love. I cannot l

Chapter 39

Damien’s P.O.V. She was gone! That freak had taken her and there was nothing I could do. I had tried to move, tried with all my strength to get to her. The containment spells he had placed on the floor were working. I felt stupid for falling for his trick.  I should have known he would have expected us to follow her. He had been watching us all, for months, he knew there was no way the angel or myself would let her go alone. The anger burned deep within me. Lilith had helped him. I knew instantly why she had done it, she would stop at nothing to get me back, to become my queen. She had to have thought she would have a chance with Synestra gone.  Although her reasoning was counterproductive, I knew her reasons which gave me a good starting point to begin trying to break her down. She had released Aly as Syrus had promised whic
