“Hello, beautiful.” He said to me as he took a seat next to me. “I’ll let you guys talk. I will see you later Joey.” Tara said as she made her way out of the room. I watched her leave and then turned back to Ethan. 

I stood in the mirror checking that I looked perfect. I wanted to make a good impression tonight. Now that I was in a bigger city I knew that it might be harder to prove myself since I was a woman. I would have to work twice as hard and try not to screw up. Once I was satisfied with the way I looked I grabbed my things and headed to the station. I was glad that I had found an apartment close by especially if I was going to be on graveyards for a while. I pulled into the parking lot and made my way inside. As I walked in a woman was sitting at the reception desk. She had long brown hair and eyes to match. She smiled as I walked in. “You must be the new recruit. My name is Megan. Megan Turner, I am the night receptionist and dispatcher.” I smiled back and shook my hand out as I stood in front of her.“My name is Josephine Wells. Everyone calls me Joey. It’s nice to meet you. I think I need to still receive my sidearm.” I said to her. She nodded and

Josephine’s POV... Once we walked into the station all eyes were on me. As I walked by each of them they would quickly turn their heads or look down at paperwork on their desk. Then I heard him yell from his office. His deep, demanding voice made me jump a little. “Joey! My office now!” I looked up at him standing in the door and knew he was beyond pissed. I wasn’t going to let him see that I was nervous though. I walked towards him quickly

Josephine’s POV... I pulled up in front of my mother's house at about midnight. I had called her before I left so I knew she was still awake. The last five years have been hard on her. I haven’t been to visit as often as I should because I was so focused on proving myself. I usually only visited once or twice a year and almost always around the holidays. I felt bad now even more as I set in front of her house. I sighed as I saw her porch light come on.

Josephine’s POV... I walked into the restaurant and found Ethan waiting at the bar for me. I approached him and he immediately noticed me. “Hello, beautiful. I see you found the place okay.” I nodded at him as I took a seat next to him.
