Part 20. On One Condition

Ajaxson hummed softly, leaning against the nearest surface. A thoughtful look crossed his face. She held her breath, waiting for him to say yes so that Talia could continue her relationship with Lukas. If her betrothed rejects her, then Zeus will let her decide something for a change.     "Okay"   The moon princess almost wanted to scream at his answer, but he quickly continued. "But on one condition."    A frown took over her features at that. What did he want now? Talia chewed on her lips, hesitant on listening to him. Here she thought that her betrothed would agree, and they could get it over with. Then again, her life had never been easy.     "What is your condi

Part 21. Engagement Announcement

Tecmessa, Ajaxsons mother, was the first one to greet them with a bright smile. Her eyes warmly appraised them, and Talia shifted under her feet. She remembered her plan and quickly approached them with faux enthusiasm.    "Tecmessa," The moon princess started as she rounded the seating area, clearly noticing her parents stare following her. "It's a pleasure to see you again. Thank you for letting us visit."    "Oh, dear!" Her future mother in law sighed, shaking her head. "It's our pleasure to host your family."    She internally cringed at that. Talia, for one second, wasn't convinced with their act. Everyone behaved in the same manner with Zeus around. They all wanted some favour from God of Lightning.    &nbs

Part 22. A Love Letter

Talia was numb to the celebration of their announcement, her parents cheering and congratulating them. The moon princess had so many hopes that they would postpone the date and eventually be forced to cancel it. She could not see that happening anytime soon with her parent's blatant display of emotions paired with Ajxasons silence.     Why did he not say anything? She stopped counting the times the question played in her head in the past hour, eyes set stoically on the table.    Some maids rushed to set up the food, smiles on their faces. The array of food ranging from bacon, chicken, black pudding, steaming tea, wine, fruits, cheese, bread and cream were placed on the grand dining table. It was making hers nauseous just staring at them. Her fingers were continuously digging into the skin of her knees as she tried to

Part 23. One Last time

Talia refused to leave her room, still upset about the conversation she had with Artemis. Also, that package sent by Ajaxson with a letter and set of books staring back at her didn't help at all. In the afternoon, nymphs had a message for her that Hera urgently wanted to meet.      Zeus daughter dragged her tired body out of the bed; mouth pressed in a thin line. Hera must have thought of a new way to make her life miserable.     Walking to the Queen's quarter of the Castle, Talia couldn't help but twist her lips. Every wall was made from shiny expensive crystal, the mirror effect causing her boots to clink a bit louder. Hera had a particular type of mirrors installed in her room to stare at the events unfolding in the hallways.

Part 24. Ajaxson’s Message

If Talia had trouble breathing before, it's near impossible now, vision blurry with unshed tears. She didn't know what to do with her body, blindly clawing at the bunched up sheets to gain some level of grounding. The air in the room felt stuffy, impossibly hot and rapidly spreading all over her body, prickling at her skin until she was glistening with sweat. Her pulse sped up, heart hammering against her chest at the heat of their bodies pressed together.     "Lukas," She tried to press out, but the only sound coming from her mouth was a guttural moan. Her legs were starting to twitch, but the Prince slid his hands up to her hips, holding her still.     Talia trailed her hand over to his face, gripping at the material of his toga, pushes at his chest with urgency. Pulli

Part 25. Heras Condition

At her silence, Lukas nudged along, snapping the moon princess out of her thoughts. She blinked at him. Talia was still trying to process all the information thrown at her, especially Ajaxson sending a message to Lukas.    "What was the m-message?" She arched her brow, still not making any move on the bed, knuckles digging in to the soft white sheet.     "He told me that your parents, especially God Zeus, is adamant on this engagement taking place. There's nothing he could have done to stop that. Besides, his parents also chimed in, so he's truly defenceless."    Talia held in the scoff, nails painfully piercing her skin, but she barely flinched. Ajaxson had a point, but he promised to stop from letting the matter go far. But he did nothing. Their engagement'

Part 26. Artemis True Belief

"I wish we could stay here," Lukas murmured, his lips pressed to the shell of her ear. "Do this every day for the rest of our lives."     It sounded like it could have become a reality, and Talia wanted to have it—Lukas as her better half. Her heart leapt up into her throat at the mere thought.    "I love you," Talia croaked, eyes clenched shut.    And the moon princess indeed did, so much, more than she's ever loved anybody and seeing it reflected in his eyes as well made her knees wobble.    Lukas leaned down and brushes their lips together, kiss as soft as a feather. "I love you, too."&n

Part 27. Lovely Evening with Ajaxson

The next letter she received from Ajaxson, arrived only a day later, almost as if he knew Lukas had left the Castle. Talia brought the letter to her room and sat down on the edge of her bed to read. Not only that, but a personal message was sent to Zeus as well. For a long time, she wondered what could that be before eventually giving up.     She opened the envelope that had arrived without a package, front teeth sunk into her bottom lip. Her thoughts were still running in split ends when it came to Ajaxson, but she didn't possess the energy to go through everything again. The moon princess stared at the letter, reading the first few paragraphs over and over until each word had settled permanently in her mind.    "What?" She muttered, brows drawn together as a mixture of shock and indignation churned in her gut. Blink

Part 28. Lukas POV

/Lukas POV/   The Sun Prince blearily blinked his eyes, tilting his head towards the window. Harsh, bright light filtered across, hitting his face and body. It dawned on him that he needed to report for his duty along with his friend. How did he let that slip his mind?     Ever since Lukas came back from Olympus, he’s been moody, annoyed at everything and lazy to get out of bed. Talia’s word stung, making him rethink everything. It's been two nights since that incident took place.     Taking a cold shower, he got dressed in his usual patrolling clothes, hair wet and falling over his forehead. For a change, he decided to spend the night in his father's Castle instead of on earth

Part 29. Reverend Orion

Talia's eyes flew back open, her heart hammering against her chest. Without much thinking, she summoned to her sister, voice whiny and loud. The moon princess couldn't think of anyone else but Artemis.     "Please!" She added, panic quickly rising in the pit of her stomach.   The door to her room opened only a minute later, her sister poking her head inside with a tired frown. "What are you yelling for?"    "I did something bad."    Her sister crossed her arms against her chest, brow lifted. "What are you on about? You're still in bed, Talia." Talia shifted under the duvet, eyes abruptly flickering back to the ceiling. "Are you okay?"    The daughter of
