“Where are you?” Bethany demands over the phone, “we are almost leaving and the kids haven’t seen you yet.” After waiting and listening for a while, she rolls her eyes. “No, don’t give me the bullshit excuse called work ‘cause we both know that is not it.” “Good, better get yourself here or I’m gonna have to come and drag it from where ever you are.” After the hard threat, she ends the call and turns to me with a mischievous look, “He’s on his way.” I give her a sceptical look as I approach my make-up mirror where she’s standing, “Are you sure?” She grins wickedly, “Well, of course! I know Keenan well and if there someone he tries not to get angry, it’s me.” She answers, “I wish I could just threaten these fats on my skin and have it be how I want though.” She sighs sadly as she stares at herself in the mirror before her. Although anyone who sees Bethany would consider her mature and yes she is, but most judgement would

He unhooks my bra and my breast spill forward into his waiting palms and he fondles them delicately. My eyes shut and I moan as he kisses over my exposed breast down my belly and he drops on his knees and unbuckles my belt and unzip my jeans and pulls them down along with my panties and when he has them undone, he looks up into my eyes and I stroke his hair, drunk and dizzy with undisclosed desires. “Se riesci a vederti in questo momento, ti renderai conto che non è necessario combattermi. Non è chiaro? Lo vuoi anche tu (If you can see yourself right now you will realize there is no need to fight me.) Isn’t it clear? You want this too.” He gets up and kisses me hard on the lips and his hand works on my button and I begin to feel myself getting turned on and more excited and as I get closer to the edge, Keenan withdraws his hand and he pulls away from me. My eyes open as I feel the loss of his touch and the absence of Keenan’s closeness. “Keenan

Third POV Two days later, “I never really got to thank you for what you did for Rory,” Phoebe’s voice draws Keenan out of the deep thought his mind has cast him into in the last half hour and he gives her space to seat on the seat close to him. Rory had gone back to Taylor's home to patch things up with her and, after waiting at her gate and getting no response. He could have left when he saw the cloud forming. He knew he needed to leave, but he had to stay because he had told Taylor he wasn’t leaving until he got the chance to talk to her. He never got the chance to talk to her and so he didn’t leave... At least not until he lost consciousness. Keenan had brought Rory to the hospital after finding him unconscious in the heavy rain outside of Taylor's home, where he suspected Rory had gone after he came to the hotel and realised he was gone. After Rory got admitted and they run tests on him. They found out that t

Brushing aside an odd sensation of uneasiness, Vary gets down from the taxi as it comes to a stop in front of the hospital. The nervousness grows within her as she walks in, as she wonders what Keenan might say to her when he sees her. She wonders if Keenan would even want to see her, knowing she was the one who left him days ago. Rejection is the last thing she can take right now, and she fears that’s what she’s going to get and she immediately turns back to leave, only to collide with a young man who is also running up the hospital stairs. Vary loses her balance and almost falls to the ground, but for the young man’s brawny arms. Their eyes meet and Vary notices his brownish blonde hair having the side-blown style, his blue eyes and from what she sees, she can tell he’s in his early twenties, but his pencils beard makes it hard to tell the exact age. He helps her back on her feet and she blushes in embarrassment as he gives her a care

Twelve years ago... Keenan stepped into his apartment after returning from basketball practice, looking all sweaty and hungry. His first thought was shower, then food, but as soon as he stepped into the apartment, the heavenly smell he smelt from the kitchen made him want to change his mind. He would have said there was a girl over, but he knew how good his roommate and best friend, Rory, was at cooking. This was his doing, and Keenan wasn’t sure he would bathe before eating as he had earlier planned. As he threw his bag onto the sofa and almost sat, he remembered he had a date with Phoebe later in the day, so he had to get ready. He didn’t want to end up going to see her late and knew Phoebe wouldn’t appreciate that either. Although today made it four months since they started dating, Keenan had never gotten the chance to tell his best friend that he was dating his sister. He always freaked out whenever he had tried to tell him the truth. He never planned to fall in love with Phoe

Keenan’s POV A week later... After Rory got discharged from the hospital, I helped take him home, trying to make sure he would be safe and okay in my absence. “For the last time, Keenan, I’ll be fine.” Rory tells me frankly, as I follow him into the house, “you are worse than a worrisome girlfriend. Hope you know.” He tells me grumpily. “You’ve done enough, you need rest.” I roll my eyes, “Coming from someone who was making wedding preparation on the hospital bed, I’d gladly take the advice.” I sarcastically remark with a snort. “Well, that was different.” Rory argues and I raise a brow at him, “I did that because I was and I am still eager to get married and settle down and make a family with Taylor and Reign, but you need to go home and spend the night with your wife.” Hearing Rory refer to Vary as my wife brings alive a feeling I once thought I lost, which is the ability to own someone or something. With Vary, I always feel like I’m

After dressing up for work in a three-piece brown suit, I make my way downstairs to grab breakfast before leaving for work. As I walk down the stair, unlike usual, I see Vary dressed in a red skirt and a black three-piece suit with her full curly hair on full display, sitting on the dining table and sipping her cup of creamed coffee delicately. I would have explained in details how impeccably breathtaking she is if I didn’t see that she was as dressed for work just as I am. She seems to sense my presence and turns her attention to me. “Good morning, Keenan,” she greets, and a wide grin, which almost looks like a mocking gesture, plasters on her face. “Morning?” I reply still suspicious about this entire morning dressing thing, “Are you going somewhere?” She nods her head affirmatively. “I’m going to work.” Now I feel like she’s trying to mock me. I walk to the table and take my sit next to her position and pour myself a cup of creamed

When I arrive back home, I turn off the car and just as I get down from the car I notice that Vary’s car isn’t in the car park yet and my heart throbs as I wonder; what if she had changed her mind about the date as the day went on? What if she has a lot of work and assignments and she can’t bail? And what if she doesn’t want to bail from that work and would rather hang me to dry? Never in my life have I been so unsure and insecure, but that’s exactly what Varisha can do to me, and I don’t know if it’s a blessing or a curse.   I make my way to the door and I’m about to go in when Vary drives in with her car and turning it off after properly parking it; she gets down. Relief and happiness wash over me as I see her and my face breaks into a ridiculous grin, only composing myself when she raises a brow at me.   I silently stare at her as she walks up to me with a smirk, whispering into my ears, “Didn’t think I’d be late, d

“The dinner was lovely, Keenan. I enjoyed myself.” Vary tells me as we walk towards the door to her room and she unhooks her arm from mine.   After we finished eating, I took Varisha out for a walk on the top of the Royal City restaurant where we spent the next hours talking and getting to know her even better. Even little things matter if we are hoping to make this work. I don’t want to assume that I know her because I only know twenty per cent and so that assumption would be completely absurd. I’d like to hear from the girl herself.   I asked questions while she answered some of my questions about her favourite food, favourite holiday and a little more about her than I already know, which was amazing, and I have to say I’ve fallen even more in love with her. It was Vary’s idea to return home early to get enough rest and be early for work tomorrow and even though I didn’t like the idea; I respected her decision.

When my eyes open again, I find myself in a bathtub and although my eyes are kind of blur, I can hear the voices of both Rebecca and Judith and hands all over my body, washing and scrubbing me. Fear rises in me, not for being naked or being washed, but for what I might have done subconsciously. My body shakes violently and I struggle to get out of the tub even when I see nothing.   “Mr Hilton, please stay still. We are almost through with bathing you.” I Judith’s voice comes up to say as she fetches a bowl of warm water and pours it onto my head without warning me and I gasp out taking deep breaths and almost choking.   “Queste persone vogliono uccidermi (These people want to kill me),” I mumble out.   I wipe my face open quickly to ask, “Where’s Vary?”   “Mrs Hilton said she had a meeting with the board and we should bathe you and help you sober up,” Rebecca explains, taking t
