Mira’s eyes shot open, revealing the demon wolf’s eyes as she screamed. She struggled on the bed. Cohen pinned her down to the floor while Amanda was yelling some words as if she tried to calm Mira using magic. Amanda put her hand on Mira’s forehead and whispered more words to her ear. Slowly, the struggle ceased and her eyes shut once again. But her body remained burning hot.

Cohen pinched the bridge of his nose to swallow his frustration down. Since he disobeyed the Council’s direct order, they put him on a tight watch. Leonardo hadn’t left since three days ago and every day he came to the pack to ask the Alpha about Mira. For three days, Leonardo had been bugging him with all the offenses and laws he had broken from the moment he protected Mira during her confrontation with Dalton until to this very moment he was harboring her.

That was it. Mira stared at her mate attentively. Cohen had said it. He renounced his affiliation with the Council because of her. She glanced at Leonardo and saw his expression hardened. When he thought it would be rainbow the whole day, it turned out it was raining. Mira pushed him away again after the incident at the encampment. Her attitude turned cold and he didn’t know why. For days, Mira avoided being in the same room as him. When it was time for him to sleep, she would be out of the pack mansion, continuing her former life. They never had any meals together. She was avoiding him at all cost.
