Adrian smiled as she slept. She'd been talking to him, and narrowly escaped getting hit by a bus. But in jumping out of the way of the bus, she hit her head very hard on the asphalt. The doctors said it was most likely temporary, that she was just in shock. He smoothed her hair back. She blinked opening her eyes.

Hades took her hand, as her shift ended. He walked her to the car, and drove her home. They were silent. He walked her into the house quietly, pensively. And, unlike her, Ophelia said nothing to the silence.

Grim had left. He'd gotten all the information he needed. Ophelia glanced at Hades who was staring at the window. His reflection seemed to captivate him. 

Hades went to work the next morning, as if nothing happened. People brought him food, and letters, and cards and many words of sorrow. He still hadn't felt anything about his fathers death.
