Chapter 9

My memories resurfaced rapidly.

I remember that I had injured my murderer’s wrist when I was fighting back.

My teacher had once told me that a dismembered corpse was incredibly difficult to retrieve if the parts were disposed of using one particular method.

I looked at the food container Jonathan intended to send back and trembled.

When Jonathan raised his hand to knock on Yvonne’s door, I wanted to stop him, but I could not.

“Jonathan? What is it?”

“I’m here to return the soup.”

“Huh? Didn’t you eat it?” Yvonne was a little surprised.

“It’s fine. I have no appetite for meat lately.”

Yvonne sighed and opened the fridge. The freezer contained a lot of fresh meat.

It was all fresh pork.

“I guess Lucky will have to enjoy these then.”

I sighed in relief. It seemed like I had read too much into this.

But Lucky, her dog, stared at the meat darkly and did not seem interested in it.
