I was never known for having much patience. I cut her off directly, "You had a day to reflect on your actions, and this is all you've come up with? You're spouting crap again. Are you asking for a beating? Or perhaps you're planning to rot in jail for the remainder of your life?"

Frederick was sweating profusely. He slapped her across the face. "Shut up already, Sylvia Warner!"

It wasn't a light slap.

Sylvia's face swelled up more, and blood trickled from the corner of her lips.

"What do you think you're doing? No more hitting!" warned one of the officers.

Frederick was ill at ease. He jumped to his feet and repeatedly bowed to apologize, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I just couldn't stand my wife's ignorance and watch without doing anything!"

He gulped nervously and turned to me. "Ms. Stone, please. This is all my wife's fault. We are willing to apologize and pay compensation. However, the truth is that it's too hefty an amount for me to pay upfront. Please, spare me a bit of time to g
