Chapter 4

Frank's words came like a bolt from the blue, leaving Terry frozen in place.

A few seconds later, the mocking smile on his face all but vanished. In its place was an expression of utmost terror.

Whispers broke out among the crowd.

"So the child was critically ill. This doctor is terrible."

"My family member passed from an aortic rupture too. I heard every minute of delay increases the risk of death by ten percent."

These words sounded painfully grating in Terry's ears at the moment.

He lowered his head and apologized to me. "Solange, I'm so sorry. I should have examined him first."

Heather hurriedly led me to complete the necessary paperwork. As I left, I rolled my eyes at Terry and said, "You've always had it in your mind that I had power and connections. Don't worry. If anything happens to my son, I won't let you off."

Terry had always believed I was the one who came between Joel and Ciara. It was all because I happened to have met Joel before he broke up with Ciara.

One day
