midnight pack run

Sarah and I were having a blast hanging out dancing and singing when the music was cut and I was called to the stage where my mother and father stood waiting proudly to introduce my wolf to the pack. Sadie was prancing excitedly in the back of my mind, she was ready to meet everyone and she was especially ready to run free for the first time. as I made my way up to the stage my father took my hand and helped me up the steps. he was smiling brightly down at me and so was my mother. I know my parents love me so much, most alpha's would be mad they got a girl heir before a boy, but not my dad. he even told me once that if I wanted the alpha title he believed I would be an amazing alpha, of course I refused. that honor will go to my little brother jax, he's only 4 right now but I can already see what a wonderful loving alpha and leader he will be.

everyone here knows my beautiful, smart, amazing, daughter savannah Marie gold my father starts his speech, today she turns 18. she will find her mate and shift for the first time. savannah first you must swear loyalty to me and to the gold moon pack, are you ready he asked looking at me. I shook my head yes nervously and he took my hand and the silver ceremonial blade cutting across the palm of my hand and then also cutting his own, he then took my bloody hand in his mixing our blood and asked, do you savannah Marie gold, daughter of alpha Damon gold and Luna Lucille aurora gold of the gold moon pack swear your allegiance to me, as your alpha and to gold moon pack? I do I responded and with those two words the world started spinning. I began hearing other pack members congratulating me thru the mind link, I was definitely going to have to get use to that. Alright everyone my father spoke, go get changed and meet at the tree line 15 minutes before midnight for savannah's first shift and the pack run. I will see you all there shortly. Sarah and I both went to my room to change. Sarah wouldn't be turning 18 for another few months so she wouldn't be shifting with me which made me sad I was also nervous to do it alone. she must have sensed it cause she looked at me with a confident smile and said don't worry chic, your going to do great and I'll be right there for you when your done. thanks Sarah I told her embracing her in a big hug.

at twenty til midnight Sarah and I both begin to walk towards the tree line. other pack members were already beginning to gather, as we got closer I began to see Leah, bailey, and Scott our friends from school and we made a beeline to talk to them. we were joined by a few other of the teens and Sarah's twin brother Adam. we were all goofing off by the bonfire some of the warriors built before we got here when my father and mother arrive. they call me over and begin talking to me about my first shift. they tell me to trust Sadie, to give her full control and even tho it will hurt don't try and fight cause it will make it even more painful. I nod my head and look around nervously. all eyes are on me as I disrobe l. I take a deep breathe and close my eyes. I'm not nervous about being naked, wolves are use to it having seen people shift all our lives. I call Sadie forward. you know what to do girl, so let's do it I say half excited half nervous and I feel her push forward until she is in full control. the first snap and elongation of my bones hurts like hell. both of my parents are by my side holding my hand as the stretching and popping continues. my fingernails turn into sharp claws and my hands and fingers turning into black no with the glowing of the moonlight I can see a different hue to my fur, I'm red with white tips on my paws it's almost as if my fur sparkles and as my shift ends I shake out my brilliant colored fur. I can hear people from the pack gasp, including my mother and father. is something wrong I mind link them both, worried that something went wrong with my shift. the way people are looking at me it's like I have three eyes or something I tell them and they chuckle,no my dear my mother and father link back, your magnificent. your a very rare special wolf, one we have only heard stories about since there hasn't been one in over one thousand years they explain happily. you are a blood wolf. with the right training your wolf will be stronger and faster than any other wolf even an alpha they continue to tell me. are you ready to run dear daughter my father asks as he and my mother both begin to shift if to their wolves. Xena is my mother's wolf she is a beautiful grey color with a white chest and one white ear, and Cain my father's wolf he is black as night not one speck of white or any other color touching him and his eyes are red like most alpha wolves. after they are shifted the other pack members begin to shift. I take off running with my mother and father on my tail. we play for a bit running and snipping at each other as we frolic thru our territory then I have a wonderful Idea. I make my way back to Sarah and my friends and lay down beside Sarah before linking her to get on my back which she does , hold on tight I tell her and I take off zigging and zagging they trees. we stop at the river that lays between our pack borders and the borders for cresent moon I take a long drink from the cold river and I let out a celebratory howl. other members of the pack also let out a howl of their own. I shift back and find some clothes we keep hidden in our territory for after runs and slip them on and I sit on the rock beside Sarah. that was fun vanny Sarah says. I can't wait til I get my wolf, I can't wait to shift and run on my own, free. it is very free feeling I replied I'm not ready to go back yet, I'm not ready to face my parents I still need to tell them about Brandon. okay, sarah simply says, we will stay for a while. we laid back and just sat there in silence watching the stars and moon.

I woke up startled by a sound like branches breaking. I don't remember where I am for a min but as soon as I do I look over to see Sarah sleeping peacefully on the rock beside me. we both must have fell asleep out here. I start moving to wake her up when I hear a noise coming from across the river. that's not good at all. noone is dumb enough to go into Cresent moon pack territory so I know it must be a Cresent pack member and that's when it hits me cedar and woodsy smell, this smell perks Sadie up in my mind, Brandon grey is here I think and Sadie growls out... MATE. I start to wake Sarah and before I can place my hand on her to shake her awake Brandon steps out of the clearing stark naked, wait savannah please he begs, just give me a second. let me put on some clothes and let's talk. Sadie howl's in excitement she wants to claim his wolf who she tells me is named atlas and he is nothing like his human. we will see about that I tell her and I look back to Brandon trying to decide if I should give him the benefit of a doubt.
