"Alpha, what are you talking about?" The Alpha King said, dropping the brush in his hands. Even though Alpha was the name of the man who had the guts to walk into the throne room, the Alpha King could not help but feel intimidated by his younger brother, the one that was standing before him with a staff in his hands. Alpha trudged towards the throne, his eyes slightly darting towards Zebulun who was now antsy as he felt the tension that ooze out in the great amount as the two brothers glared at each other.
"Elder brother." He greeted, his eyes not leaving his brother's. The Alpha King gripped the edge of his throne with a raised brow. "What are you doing here, younger brother? I thought the affairs of the palace does not concern you. What? Interested now?" He asked his brother. Alpha smiled, liking the way his brother was agitated. "I promised to leave the throne to you. Not to interfere in the ordering." He clarified. Zebulun listened to what was going on. They were deciding to get him some Omega that he doesn't want. Someone who will not only be a spy but can also assassinate him in his sleep. But if his uncle was here now... It meant something. "Alpha Sir, I doubt getting the Alpha Prince an omega is a good option." An elder said and Alpha turned to him with his eyes narrowed into slits. Then he turned to his brother who was seated on the throne. "My brother here is still reeling from years of losing his mate, and there is no way he would want to mate with a female now. Not that if he had mate with her, he won’t die before the oid grows. So Zebulun having his own omega to breed will be good, what do you say, Alpha King?" He asked, his eyes glinting mischief. The Alpha King exhaled and glanced at Zebulun who was gripping his chair with dear life. Then he faced his brother, Alpha. "You have come up with a good solution but he is disabled, what if he is impotent too?" He questioned and murmurings filled the hall. Zebulun quickly wrote down some things. "First, I am not marrying any omega. Second, I am not impotent. Third, Uncle, you should not decide for me. It is Father's throne, he can pass it down to whosoever he wants. I am disabled enough to be able to rule the Seven Moons." The attendant read it out and Zebulun relaxed when no one spoke. But then his father broke it with a scoff. "Have you touched a lady sexually, Zeb?" He asked him and Zebulun shook his head negatively. Something in him burned at the way his father publicly asked him about his sexual activeness. "Then how do you know? I am already unfortunate to have you, don't add more to it." He dismissed him and Zebulun exhaled. He had forgotten he had no voice to speak his opinion, his fate and destiny were being decided by them. Two brothers who are constantly at each other's throats. "But... If Alpha says Zebulun should get an omega. I guess it is for the best of our pack, I mean, she will be able to give us a crown prince, right?" He asked and Alpha nodded his head. "It is still better than disregarding your lineage of your first mate and love." Alpha added with a smile that did not reach his face. The Alpha King seemed to understand what he meant. "If so, then you will be the coordinator for the choosing." The Alpha King declared and Alpha bowed slightly before turning on his heels, he took a pause and side-glanced Zebulun before walking out. "If there is no more issue to discuss, you are all dismissed. Zebulun should meet me in my chamber." He said and stood up. "Alpha King." They all bowed as he passed through them. Zebulun stood up with his staff in his hands as the attendant helped him out. *In the Alpha King's Chamber* "Father, you requested my presence." Zebulun said through the mind link as he entered, straining his ears to get a hint of where his father is. In a swift motion, he felt a whoosh of breeze behind him and before he could turn, a hit landed on his left leg. He fell to the ground instantly with one knee on the floor. His face contorted into that of pain as he tried not to wince. He was used to it- unexpected beating. "What? You have been not be training?" His father asked him, his voice thick with raw hate and anger. He moved again and hit him on the second before he could dodge it. He was now on his two knees, he clenched his fist and hardened his jaw, a muscle below his jaw ticking in the process. "Huh? You have been slacking off in practice. Seems like your teacher is not doing what he is supposed to do. It is time to change him. I don't like the way he is being lenient with you." He said thoughtfully and Zebulun closed his eyes. It still does not make any difference. The same teaching with different teachers. Nothing but the most basic things. All the time. Like he did not want him to improve. "Your uncle will be selecting an omega for you. You must NOT in no means impregnate her." He ordered and Zebulun lifted his head instantly, his eyes darting through the darkness. What did he just hear? He must not impregnate the omega? Maybe he heard wrong. His eyes darted around through the cloth. "What did you say, Father?" He asked again. "You heard what I said, Stupid. I don't want an heir now. Keep that thing into your pants. And also, I will give you a warning since you are my son and you might not know the history behind our brotherhood. Don't trust Alpha. Not once. Not half. He is a wolf, waiting for the chance to prey and it would be a pity if he happens to pounce on you, Zeb." He crooned. And it was at the moment that Zebulun realized how deep the hatred between the two brothers ran. “Yes, Father.”Zebulun’s POV Fifteen Years Old. My father had summoned me. I had overheard what the attendants were saying. That he wanted to get me teachers. Maybe I should be grateful that he did not want me to be a disabled person without skills. Or maybe I should dread the fact that I could be a laughing stock to the council and the pack. The attendant walked behind me as I made my way to meet him at the terrace. He was yet to get there. Another twist of his. He does it every time he ask for my presence. I decided to stand to await him. Footsteps sounded from behind me and I let out a deep breath as my father’s scent coated my senses alongside someone else’s. Who was it? It was definitely not his Beta whom he had sent away for over two years now. “Alpha Prince.” The unknown man greeted and I bowed a little. I waited for my father’s voice to speak and so he did. “This is your new teacher who would be teaching you lots of things.” He declared and my brows creased. Lots of things.
•Zebulun's POV• Thirteen years old. It was dark. So dark that I could barely see. No, not that I could see, I could not see even if there was light. I was bathed in the deep darkness that could only be found with the absence of light. The light that I have never seen and will perhaps not see till the day I die. I scrambled up to sit and leaned against the wall of the deep dungeon of my father’s or rather the Alpha King’s pack. A puff of air was only that escape from my parted lips as a hint of trying to groan. I have been here for days or rather months. I don't know. I was kept hidden because I was not worthy of being close with my father. Does it hurt? No, it doesn’t. After my mother who did all her best to protect me died, or rather burned in the fire that was said to be litted by me, my father’s aversion for me heightened and he took his anger out on me for killing his mate and Queen. Every day. When he felt like. What could I say? A dumb person like me.
ZEBULUN- Twenty Years Old He stood by the window, the fresh morning breeze blowing his long hair over his face. Raising a hand up to tuck them behind his ear, he heard footsteps approaching and his eyes darted in their balls. “Alpha Prince.” The voice of his assistant guard sounded near as the guard gave a slight bow and Zebulun turned around to face him. Dressed in a royal attire with a white soft cloth strapped on his eyes and a golden staff in his hands, Zebulun grew up to be a blinding beauty among the men but his disability stood as an hindrance to be recognized as one. “Your father requests for your presence in this throne hall.” The guard said again and this got Zebulun’s attention. His father rarely have him in the throne room because he considered him an unnecessary addition to the officials. “Why?” The attendant asked as he must have read Zebulun’s confused appearance. The guard looked between the attendant and Zebulun and said, “I don’t know.” A silent sigh h
