Damien slowly made his way into the bar. There were a few people seated already but it wasn't too rowdy, and his eyes roaming through the room in search of Mason, he soon spotted him sitting in one of the barstools. As he approached the spot, Mason raised his head, facing Damien. His expression suddenly turned icy, and he didn't even bother to exchange pleasantries when Damien took a seat across him. Well, Damien had a sinking feeling that this was going to be a tiring meeting from the looks of things, as Mason was already glaring at him but he would try to take things easy and slow as best as he could. He was here for answers, and nothing more, nothing less. Not knowing what to do at first, Damien thought of lightening the atmosphere and beckoning to the bartender, he proceeded to ask Mason what he would like to drink, but he only got rolled eyes in response, as his guest seemingly waved him away. "I would die before I take a taste out of my enemy's pocket.” Mason spat bitterly
Damien slammed his hand on the table in anger as he glared at Mason furiously, his head whirling. “No way what you said is true. This…this can't be right!" He yelled, shaking his head while Mason continued to smile, clearly enjoying it all.“What do I stand to gain if I lie? Laughing my fucking ass off. Everything I just said is true.”“No way! I…”“Yes! I will tell you to your face over and over again that Madison broke up with you, so you couldn’t escape my father’s wrath. She did it in the blink of an eye, agreeing to what we told her to do just like some lovesick puppy. Dad threatened to make your life a living hell, and he was going to start by evicting your family from that crappy house you lived in. So you see, she was powerless sorry to say and being the good girl that she was she sacrificed your relationship. She just couldn't help seeing you suffer, and so she had no other choice but to save your ass instead.” He laughed. Damien could not believe his ears, his whole body h
Damien turned off the ignition of his car, unlocking the door and stepping out. Due to the long distance from Kettlesworth to London, he had been on the road for a while, and so when he’d arrived back it was a little late in the evening already. He had wanted to drive all the way to the real destination he had in mind and that was Madison's house. After his conversation with Mason, he couldn't not talk to her, and as the entire conversation with Mason continued to replay in his head, Damien’s heart pounded in his ears. He was weak to the core, regretful, and even a little angry. But this time his anger was directed to himself. He had to make everything right. He needed to see her… because now everything was clear and he had the full details of what happened now. Everything made sense now, and he was the one at fault. His mistakes were laid up in front of him, and he didn't want to postpone seeing her any further. But in as much as he wanted to see Madison so badly, first he ha
Madison stared at the vegetables in front of her, taking a look in her notes to glance at the recipe Gina had given her to cheer her up. She adored her friends recipes, and trying out new ones always put her in a good mood. After the other day at work, Gina had tried to cheer Madison up as she continued to be moody the whole day and at the close of work, she surprised Madison by presenting her with a new recipe to try out. It had worked effectively, because Madison immediately lit up and thanking her friend with a hug, she did promised to try it out and here she was. Smiling, she began to slice the vegetables into tiny pieces. She wanted to have a filling dinner because lunch had been tiny bites of a peanut butter sandwich that she hadn't been able to finish, and now she wanted to eat this evening to her full. When she was finished slicing the vegetables, she checked the broth which was still simmering on the stove and taking a little out of it with her soon, she tasted it and hu
Damien couldn’t believe what was happening. His lip was on Madison’s.He was kissing her wholeheartedly, the woman he’d loved and cherished for years. The woman he hadn’t forgotten, and the only person he yearned for like oxygen. His body pressed against hers, Madison breathed heavily as his lips continued to mould in with hers, their tongues swishing and dancing in unison with with each other. She let out a soft moan, her hands gripping his arms and just as she dug her fingers in his shoulders, only then did she open her eyes and… She immediately broke away from the kiss as though she only just realized what was happening, and her eyes widened in confusion. “What the hell?” She muttered, and the look she gave him was one that indicated that she’d just come back to her senses. She took a step back pushing him off her body, and she glared at him bitterly.Damien could also see that she was trying to control the tears that wanted to flow down her cheeks, and spitting out in disgust she
After a long time of knocking and waiting outside Madison's door to no avail, Damien got off the floor, and slowly made his way back to his car. His chest felt heavy and empty. Still shaking, he wiped his tear-stained face with his sleeve and hobbled into his car. Once he was inside, the cold and quiet interior only reminded him of his misery, and the gravity of the situation. Trying not to think about it too much, he started his car and drove away from the area. However a few minutes later, as he was driving, he couldn't help but begin to think about his conversation with Madison yet again. Tears began to drop down his face, it hit him once more. The whole thing was just one huge misunderstanding, and largely his fault. All this while, she had done everything she did just to protect him from her father and brother. She had only been looking out for him, but instead of hearing her out, he had left like a coward.Without a warning. Without bothering to see her one last time or try
Madison stared at the clothes scattered on the floor of her room absentmindedly, with her mind already miles away. She hadn't been able to get any sleep last night because she could not stop thinking about everything that had happened. She spent the whole night crying, and now she was just wishing that there was a way to erase the memory completely but there wasn’t.The flashback was stuck in her head, replaying over and over like a loop, and the more she tried to stop thinking about it, the more vivid the memories became. As she lowered her head to the pillow, a sound interrupted her, and she quickly rushed to the door when she heard someone knocking. She already knew who it was, and slowly she opened the door to let Gina in.The second Gina walked in, Madison returned to her bed slowly and let herself sink to the floor, while her friend paused at the door, staring at the haphazard room in disarray. She quickly rushed to Madison, plopping down next to her, and then she asked, “Wh
"What on earth is going on?" Madison heard her mother say as soon as she picked up her phone and she frowned, confused. She did not understand the urgency in her mother's voice and also, they hadn't spoken in a while so she wasn't exactly sure what she meant. "What do you mean? Is something wrong? What are you talking about mother?” "What happened is that I overheard your father and brother talking about Damien!”Madison was so shocked that she nearly dropped their phone. Mason and her dad talking about Damien? Whatever it was, she knew it couldn't be good. She dug her fingers into her hair as she let the information sink in, and then she spoke up again, “Did you hear what exactly they were talking about in detail?" She asked, wanting to know exactly what they had discussed. Her mother answered in the negative much to her disappointment, "I couldn't hear everything they said, but they kept on repeating Damien's name. What is really going on, Madison? I know you are hiding somethi
