Since Preston was close with Jennifer, he didn't plan to reprimand her for being late. However, Hailey couldn't resist taking a jab.

She sneered, "Dr. Susan, do you know how influential the patient for this afternoon's surgery is? How dare you be late for this meeting? Are you planning to have the department take the fall with you if anything goes wrong?"

Jennifer calmly sat down and retorted, "Dr. Brooks, are you the lead surgeon for this afternoon's surgery? If you're not, what use is it if you show up on time for the meeting? Since I'm the lead surgeon, I get to have a say! I don't need you to take responsibility if anything goes wrong. I'll handle it myself."

Hailey paled and huffed. "Dr. Susan, I advise you not to be so arrogant. You know what they say; you can never be too sure. Be careful you don't end up in a dead end!"

Preston snapped, "Both of you, enough!"

Jennifer and Hailey were fighting as if Preston wasn't in the room. Only after he raised his voice did they stop.
