Chapter 40: Wounds

How blind can Esteban's father be to harm his own children for a woman? Is his love for that lady so great? If so, can love make us so blind?

A noise breaks the silence. Someone opens the dead door.

"I'm home."

Esteban smiles slyly. This is not a sweet smile, on the contrary, it is a smile full of pure hatred and resentment. I don't know if it's towards his stepmother who has just arrived or towards his father for acting so badly.
