Author POV

"How did you find out?" Zayne clenched his fists against his side.

"Happened that today I was ready to kill; didn't take his soldier time to start talking, but that was the only thing he was saying, nothing else," Matteo answered me.

"Why do I feel like you are hiding something?" Zayne's jaws were beginning to work up. Matteo knew how much he hated being kept in the dark.

Matteo noticed the tone immediately: "Are you done with her?"

Zayne turned to the boutique to see her and Nora coming out of it with countless bags in their hands; she was now in jean trousers and a white shirt, one of the clothes she had chosen.

"Yeah, we are; I'll be there in an hour," He felt her behind him.

"I'll be there in an hour," she heard him say, and she stopped, standing behind him, wondering whom he was talking to, and with the tension on his shoulders, she wasn't so sure it was good.

He turned to look at her, sizing her up, and that got her mesmerized by how his eyes changed

She felt like throwing up looking at a face hell-bent on destroying her; even without knowing her secret, she wondered what would happen now that he knew who she was."For someone who lies so much, you really have a way of showing your feelings on that face." Matteo dug his hands into his pocket. "You dance very well too; your father had to hide the fact that he had another daughter."That was his only restraint from pulling her by the hair—a cartel in the manor, who the hell ever heard of that?"What's your aim, Gia? Why are you here, all around the Don?"She shook her head in fear as it began to eat up her voice box. "It's not what you think, I swear to you...""Your father stooped so low sending his last daughter....""No, my father didn't send me," another of these damn tears was pouring from her face, "my father is dead.""More lies?""No damnit!" Sobbing profusely, what did she have to lose? Capo Bastone already knew that in a few minutes Zayne would be walking through that door

I fitted the ring on my finger, watching it glitter as the sun from the window brushed against it. It was pretty, but it was an engagement ring, and it was getting me confused. That stone on it was worth enough to get me out of Rome and live life to the fullest for a whole year, and it felt so heavy on my finger.but not as heavy as the thoughts in my head."So you're saying I'll have to pretend I'm Don's fiancee because..."Capo Bastone groaned, dragging one hand through his hair. "I can't believe we're going over this again. Now listen here. I won't be explaining myself again."I nodded, wondering why Don hadn't come himself; instead, he had sent his friend or assistant. And even though this would be the third time he's explained it to me, I just couldn't wrap my head around it."Zayne decided not to leave you here. He's taking you to Calabria for a family gathering, which outsiders do not partake in." He crossed his arms. "Now there are a few tips I'll give you so you can survive in

GianaEven the prime minister who stood by didn't look as angry as the one with the gray pupils. He had a fiery expression, and I was beginning to fear he was going to whisk me out of Zayne's hand."Zayne "I fucking asked a question here!""Milo," their mother held his shoulder, "There has to be a reason."It was taking a whole lot of strength not to make a run for the car I had just left, locking myself up in the booth and staying there until the celebration was over. The woman, who surprisingly was successful in calming Milo down, turned to face Zayne, who seemed to be staring at his brother in amusement like he wasn't just about to be jumped on."Zayne, you knew Nico was going to be in the manor; why did you bring her?" She was close to him now, and even with that gentle voice, there was a little anger in her eyes.Zayne's hand was on my lower back now, drawing close to me, then he held my left hand and raised it so she could see the ring on my finger.I felt guilty seeing how fast

Matteo stood in front of the door, gazing at the knob, knowing he had to go into the room eventually, but it felt easier to stall time. He knew this door separated him from his father. He sighed. He wasn't a kid anymore; he was a man who could make his own decisions. He turned the knob and pushed open the door. His mom was alone in the room, and when she saw him, she smiled so brightly that Matteo was beginning to wonder if those white teeth didn't ache. "Matteo," she stood up from the bed and hugged him, sniffing into his shirt while he wrapped his hands firmly around her shoulders. Oh, God, did he miss her, this woman who was the basis of his existence and who supported his choices? She pulled back, "Maya, say you tell her you not come?" He smiled, Hell yeah, this was it, her grammar mixed with that sweet voice that followed him around as he grew; she would have easily taken classes, but she shook her head on all of it. His father had joked about it, saying if that was repaired

Gia's POVDear God, I didn't know what I was doing in his arms, with his palms on my lower back, pushing me and edging me on, but at least I knew where he spent the night, with his breath and tongue-tasting liquor. It had to be what was getting me intoxicated and making me forget everything and everyone; this was no ordinary pull. And it didn't feel like pretend anymore, at least to me."Bro, end this; you're in public," I heard Milo laugh."Milo, let them be." It was Maya this time, and she didn't sound offended at all; rather, she sounded joyful. His hands were curling around my throat now, and it was suddenly too much. I had to break it, even though he sighed in dissatisfaction.Staring into his face and still feeling his confusion, we suddenly heard loud stomping, like someone was leaving the room in anger.Oh, sweet Alexa! I smiled within me, for I was no quiet one when it came to letting people know their place. He laughed and whispered, "I see what you did there."I blinked inn

He kissed my chin and my cheeks, his breath all over my face, and all I did were shut my eyes, enjoying the sensation knowing it was forbidden but then it felt so good.He kissed my lips this time as if savoring its bottom, his hands moving up my thighs and up to my abdomen, then he filled them with my tits, cupping them through the dress I was wearing. My head and my breath were heavy and flawed as if I had just run a marathon, and when he gnawed on my neck and chin, sucking on so hard that I knew I was going to get a hickey,He was marking me and touching every inch of me.I moaned. His hand slowly slipped the thin strap from my shoulders, and seeing that they didn't budge, he suddenly ripped them apart, and I gasped, stiffening knowing I was bare upwards. He flattened his hand on my abdomen, smoky eyes drinking me up, on his feet now, hands flat on the bed, caging me between them and watching my every reaction, I blushed and turned away."No," he placed a hand on my chin, caring wi

Matteo had his hand on his hips, was staring at his feet, and was biting his lower lips because the tension in the room wasn't something he wanted to come to terms with.Zayne, on the other hand, had his eyes on Milo, for at that moment when his brother's pupils were extracted just that way, somebody was about to die, and he had a clue who it was.Milo walked into the kitchen, going straight for the knife rack, from which he pulled one out, and began to head for the exit.An alarm slashed through Zayne and Matteo."Matteo quick!"And in a swift second, they were jumping over the tiled counter. Zayne knocked Milo to the ground while Matteo tried to snatch the handle of the knife. But Milo waved the knife so dangerously, slashing into Zayne's arm."Jesus Christ!"Milo had the strength, especially when he got as angry as this, and it felt like with each second that passed he was gathering it. Though Zayne was on him and they rolled together down the hallway, the fucker still held the kni

"Let me get this straight." Derinem leaned back on his seat, staring at his son. He had called Zayne alone, and though the atmosphere was cool in his workspace, Zayne knew his father was disturbed. "You found a girl in a truck with three dead bodies; she says she lost her memory; then you found it convenient to bring her to the manor?" Now that his father said it like that, maybe it did sound a little stupid, but he also knew there were other reasons. "I also knew if I kept her in the manor and left for Calabria, she might be dead before I get back." Zayne pinched the bridge of his nose, shutting his eyes, feeling the bandage that had been wrapped around his arm. "Then your soldiers need discipline," Derinem tapped the table. "That aside, it's so clear you don't know this girl; she might be lying about the memory loss of a thing." "Which I don't think she is." "You're letting your emotions speak for you, son," Derinem looked at him closely, "and that is not needed here, in our wor

Heyyyyyyyyy I'm pretty glad I'm done with those two. I'm hurting too. Being the Don's Obsession is finished now as the second book in the series, "Angels for the Demons." Gianna Venditti and Zayne Xavier, this has to be the easiest book I've ever written, all thanks to you all for taking out time to comment and bug me. Lol, I love that too.Mint Mocha, you deserve a special chapter. I think I hurt you the most. Lol.To be clear, there were few terms Zayne used that weren't understood, like when he said, "I can't get enough blues in my life." Well, that's about their eyes. Gianna has blue eyes, the same as Jane. The Nico book is in the works, and I'm still not sure when it's coming out yet, but keep your fingers crossed, for that will also be a wery bumpy wide.I can't give out the name yet, maybe because I haven't settled on any, and that's the hardest part.Sorry for the grammatical errors; I'll work on that.Once again, thank you for the gems, the stars, the comments, and even the

Gianna blinked, facing the immaculate white walls and the beeping that sounded far away. Unable to feel her body, she decided she was in heaven.Only heaven could feel this painless; only heaven could feel this safe, well, heaven and Zayne's presence, but since he wasn't in sight, maybe she was in heaven. She waited for the angels to take her into paradise, wipe the tears from her eyes, and tell her she would be okay, that the earth was never her place anyway, that she'd fallen. The image of Axel holding the sledgehammer with a sick smile while watching her scream in agony had tears filling her eyes. She was never meant for this brutal and sinful world anyway. She wondered if Zayne would find her dead body. She wanted to cry out for him, tell him she was sorry she had gone off track, and cry that she didn't deserve him, but it was too late; she was dead.Or was she..."I had a feeling you'd open those eyes today." She turned to see him sitting on a chair beside her bed, looking into h

The last time he had gone there was the first time their paths had crossed, and now it seemed it would be their last.He pushed off the negative thought. He had to think positively; he fucking had to think positively, but knowing Axel and his anger toward her, he hoped he didn't get there too late.He was alone on the road, in the dark stormy night, with lightning striking and thunder rumbling, and all he could think of was how scared she would be, how wounded, how dead. He swallowed."Goddamn you, Axel!" He gritted his teeth and groaned and swore that if Axel touched a hair on her body, he'd make s

She struggled to open her eyes, but each time she did and the bulb overhead hit her, her head ached so badly she had to shut it again; she felt like she was running in a maze of blurs."She's coming awake," she heard the voice, and she snapped her eyes wide open, coming face to face with Axel, who was sitting opposite her. When her eyes met him, he smiled. The thud of her heartbeat was loud now as she quickly looked around for a place of escape."Welcome home, Bonbon," Axel laughed. "I told you we'd meet again, didn't I? He settled back on the pink couch and asked, "Is that why you went running?"Her color drained when she saw she was back at the cartels' mansion in her room, tied up on a wooden chair while he sat on her pink couch, staring at her in the face with a psychotic smile on his lips.He raised her phone, "Amara has been calling; she says she's sorry, and why are you not in her apartment?" GIA'S POV.He had his back towards me, his tensed shoulders visible with the singlet he wore, his hand gripping the phone as he gritted into it, and he grabbed the chair before him."No," I could sense his irritation, "I thought we agreed on keeping things clear; what the fuck do you want now?"When he had that tone on, it worried me, for slowly, he began to withdraw into himself, and it took a ton to get him out. Whatever it was that was behind that phone had a hold on him. Most of what was said lacked content; they repeated the exact words, and this was the third time he picked up the phone.I encircled my hand around his waist, placing my cheek on his back, sighing when I felt him loosen up; sometimes, this was the only comfort he needed. He slammed the phone back on its hold, glaring down at it, but soon it was ringing again.I held his palm before he grabbed it, and he looked into my face.I raised a brow, "who's that?"He narrowed his eyes to the wall, but I brought it back on my

2 MONTHS LATER..."I don't want a dress!" Jane stomped her foot on the ground, glaring at the blue ball gown Gia held in front of her like it was mold. "I want a suit like Zayne."Gia inhaled deeply, glaring at the top of the girl's head, unsure of what to do next, for she had tried everything, including threats of no dessert or no more outing, but Jane retained her stand. All thanks to Zayne, she breathed fire, spoiling the girl rotten and always giving her what she wanted when she wanted it, and Jane, knowing she had him wrapped around her fingers, also knew there were no limitations to what he could do for her."Why didn't you tell me all this when you watched me pick this out for you?" Gia had a stern look on her face. And that had Jane melting, with fake tears filling her eyes.Gia groaned, looking at the clock on the wall above the door; just an hour remained, and she was still in her robe, her hair still curled in rolls, with no sign of beginning her preparations before the banq
