Gia's POV

Dear God, I didn't know what I was doing in his arms, with his palms on my lower back, pushing me and edging me on, but at least I knew where he spent the night, with his breath and tongue-tasting liquor.

It had to be what was getting me intoxicated and making me forget everything and everyone; this was no ordinary pull.

And it didn't feel like pretend anymore, at least to me.

"Bro, end this; you're in public," I heard Milo laugh.

"Milo, let them be." It was Maya this time, and she didn't sound offended at all; rather, she sounded joyful.

His hands were curling around my throat now, and it was suddenly too much. I had to break it, even though he sighed in dissatisfaction.

Staring into his face and still feeling his confusion, we suddenly heard loud stomping, like someone was leaving the room in anger.

Oh, sweet Alexa! I smiled within me, for I was no quiet one when it came to letting people know their place.

He laughed and whispered, "I see what you did there."

Matteo had his hand on his hips, was staring at his feet, and was biting his lower lips because the tension in the room wasn't something he wanted to come to terms with.Zayne, on the other hand, had his eyes on Milo, for at that moment when his brother's pupils were extracted just that way, somebody was about to die, and he had a clue who it was.Milo walked into the kitchen, going straight for the knife rack, from which he pulled one out, and began to head for the exit.An alarm slashed through Zayne and Matteo."Matteo quick!"And in a swift second, they were jumping over the tiled counter. Zayne knocked Milo to the ground while Matteo tried to snatch the handle of the knife. But Milo waved the knife so dangerously, slashing into Zayne's arm."Jesus Christ!"Milo had the strength, especially when he got as angry as this, and it felt like with each second that passed he was gathering it. Though Zayne was on him and they rolled together down the hallway, the fucker still held the kni

"Let me get this straight." Derinem leaned back on his seat, staring at his son. He had called Zayne alone, and though the atmosphere was cool in his workspace, Zayne knew his father was disturbed. "You found a girl in a truck with three dead bodies; she says she lost her memory; then you found it convenient to bring her to the manor?" Now that his father said it like that, maybe it did sound a little stupid, but he also knew there were other reasons. "I also knew if I kept her in the manor and left for Calabria, she might be dead before I get back." Zayne pinched the bridge of his nose, shutting his eyes, feeling the bandage that had been wrapped around his arm. "Then your soldiers need discipline," Derinem tapped the table. "That aside, it's so clear you don't know this girl; she might be lying about the memory loss of a thing." "Which I don't think she is." "You're letting your emotions speak for you, son," Derinem looked at him closely, "and that is not needed here, in our wor

Seeing him, emotions flooded through me—anger and fear—and fear won, for I hurriedly began to crawl towards the counter, but then he grabbed my legs and pulled me back, tugging on my arm to face me."Gia, fuck it, I searched for you everywhere; where the hell have you been?"Tears fell, hot and hard, damping my yellow gown so that it clung to my body; the shooting had stopped; there was no movement behind the counter; and I was becoming scared for Matteo."Gia, talk to me!" Aaron's voice was laced with so much concern that I wanted to throw up in his face."Let me go, you monster.""Gia!" I snapped my hand away from his hold, but he grabbed it again, and I gritted my teeth close to his face, "I saw what you did; you betrayed my family."His face fell now, and he searched my eyes, asking, "Is that why you ran away? Gia, how could you believe I killed Venditti?"You did nothing," I almost yelled. I turned to the counter, and still, there was no movement. Dear God, I only hoped he wasn'

His eyes snapped open gaping at the ceiling, and soon he was sitting up in a flash, staring at the wall, his breath heavy and his eyes widened.Zayne blinked. Was all of it a dream? He raised his hand to rub his eyes and felt the sharp pain on his shoulders, causing him to wince. It felt like the bullet had broken his bones to pieces, and it was taking a whole lot of effort not to fall back on the bed.Ok, it wasn't a dream, not a nightmare. He stared at the white walls of the room he was in; even looking down at the blue gown he had on, the smell of antiseptic hit his nose.A hospital. Dammit, he breathed it in. He didn't have the time to be in hospitals; some things needed to be taken care of.people that needed to be taken care of.He pulled the needle from his wrist and climbed down from the bed, forcing his eyes to focus when they began to get blurry. He staggered to the wall, cursing under his breath when he had to use his wounded arm to support his frame before he crashed down,

They pushed her into the room, and she fell to the floor. Hearing them bang the door shut, she began to tremble. She sat up on the floor, looking around the room for any way to flee, even when she knew there was going to be none. The window was airtight, and even though it wasn't, would she jump down thousands of feet just to flee from him? Yes, she would do it even without thinking twice about it.She turned to the door to see a man holding a phone to his ear. He was the one who had caught her on the verge of fleeing from them; she had given them quite a chase, making turns every second, so they had lost track of her.But there was only one of her, and tens of them."Boss, we got her."Her chest tightened; Zayne was coming; she was dead, and there were no two ways about it.She thought of pleading with the goon, but she knew it was going to be a waste of the strength she was trying to save.He turned and walked out of the room, leaving her alone in the emptiness and terror. She heard the car speed past the truck after making a turn that had her almost sprawled on the floor.Where was he taking her, too? She looked down at his side, seeing his gun wasn't in place, but it was going to be easy to strangle and drown her in any place of his choice.Nobody was going to ask him questions. She sat still now, struggling to hold the gasps that fell from her tongue each time they passed cars without crashing into them.He drove like a lunatic, eyes dead and jaws clenched, reminding her of Milo. The road they were on now was deserted, and he slowed down, making a turn into another dirt road where there was a line building in which colored lights twinkled like little stars. He stopped right in the middle of the compound, where they were parking mostly trucks, and turned off the ignition. Then he climbed out of the car and went over to her side.He yanked open the door and dragged her out by her arm, fingers digging into her flesh and pulling her towards the entrance

She heard the hoots and the cat calls as she slid down the pole, her legs twirling around it, using it to hold down her weight, trying to ignore the pain she felt in her bones and legs. It did hurt so much to be taking three shifts, especially on the third day, waking up at 4 a.m. and sleeping at 11 p.m. She was so exhausted that sometimes she skipped meals. Right now, she raked her fingers through her hair, desperate to look sexy so they wouldn't throw things at her because she didn't satisfy them enough. That wasn't what she wanted. Besides being the new girl, she was the new star, making a lot of profit that she would never see, much less lay her hands on. She felt weak, she felt sick, she shivered, slowly catching a fever, and she'd noticed the bruising on her lower lips that morning as she applied her lipstick. But she couldn't fall right now. She needed to work because that was what he wanted. I'll break you, Gia... And he was slowly breaking her, slowly making her give it

Heyyyyyyyyy I'm pretty glad I'm done with those two. I'm hurting too. Being the Don's Obsession is finished now as the second book in the series, "Angels for the Demons." Gianna Venditti and Zayne Xavier, this has to be the easiest book I've ever written, all thanks to you all for taking out time to comment and bug me. Lol, I love that too.Mint Mocha, you deserve a special chapter. I think I hurt you the most. Lol.To be clear, there were few terms Zayne used that weren't understood, like when he said, "I can't get enough blues in my life." Well, that's about their eyes. Gianna has blue eyes, the same as Jane. The Nico book is in the works, and I'm still not sure when it's coming out yet, but keep your fingers crossed, for that will also be a wery bumpy wide.I can't give out the name yet, maybe because I haven't settled on any, and that's the hardest part.Sorry for the grammatical errors; I'll work on that.Once again, thank you for the gems, the stars, the comments, and even the

Gianna blinked, facing the immaculate white walls and the beeping that sounded far away. Unable to feel her body, she decided she was in heaven.Only heaven could feel this painless; only heaven could feel this safe, well, heaven and Zayne's presence, but since he wasn't in sight, maybe she was in heaven. She waited for the angels to take her into paradise, wipe the tears from her eyes, and tell her she would be okay, that the earth was never her place anyway, that she'd fallen. The image of Axel holding the sledgehammer with a sick smile while watching her scream in agony had tears filling her eyes. She was never meant for this brutal and sinful world anyway. She wondered if Zayne would find her dead body. She wanted to cry out for him, tell him she was sorry she had gone off track, and cry that she didn't deserve him, but it was too late; she was dead.Or was she..."I had a feeling you'd open those eyes today." She turned to see him sitting on a chair beside her bed, looking into h

The last time he had gone there was the first time their paths had crossed, and now it seemed it would be their last.He pushed off the negative thought. He had to think positively; he fucking had to think positively, but knowing Axel and his anger toward her, he hoped he didn't get there too late.He was alone on the road, in the dark stormy night, with lightning striking and thunder rumbling, and all he could think of was how scared she would be, how wounded, how dead. He swallowed."Goddamn you, Axel!" He gritted his teeth and groaned and swore that if Axel touched a hair on her body, he'd make s

When her eyes met him, he smiled. The thud of her heartbeat was loud now as she quickly looked around for a place of escape."Welcome home, Bonbon," Axel laughed. "I told you we'd meet again, didn't I? He settled back on the pink couch and asked, "Is that why you went running?"Her color drained when she saw she was back at the cartels' mansion in her room, tied up on a wooden chair while he sat on her pink couch, staring at her in the face with a psychotic smile on his lips.He raised her phone, "Amara has been calling; she says she's sorry, and why are you not in her apartment?"
