The unopened folio fell onto the coffee table.

Callum stared at Ruth coldly and warned her, “I know what’s going on with Luna. You don’t have to interfere. Do you think that just because you have Mr. Blakewell backing you, you can disregard your elders?”

Ruth stood up. Her hand was still held up as though waiting to receive something. She looked up and met Callum’s cold gaze. Then, she suddenly said, “Grandpa is awake.”

Callum’s body stiffened, and his expression changed drastically. “What?!”

Ruth ignored him and turned to look at the bodyguard who had handed Aquilo the leather bag. Almost instinctively, the bodyguard took two steps forward, picked up the brown folio on the coffee table, and handed it back to Ruth.
