Chapter 218

The world became quiet.

Abel stood against the light, so Ruth could not see his expression. However, his cold aura showed that he was unhappy.

A part of Ruth’s survival instinct that was driven away by anger returned.

She silently pulled the blanket closer and slipped under it. She hugged her weak self and said softly, “My stomach hurts when you move me. It hurts so much that I lose control of my emotions.”

The underlying message was this: It is you who touched me first.

Abel had experienced things in the past two days that he had never experienced before.

No one had ever dared to be so rude to him nor kick him or ask him to get out.

However, he knew he was in the wrong, so he could not get angry.

He remembered what Mrs. Greenwell told him. “She will be irritable and get angry easily. Try your best not to oppose her or make her unhappy.”

After looking at Ruth’s weak appearance, he patiently asked, “Besides your stomach, do you hurt anywhere else?”
