Chapter 232 I Have Someone I Like

Wendy looked up at Albert, meeting his gaze directly.

"I have someone I like," she repeated, her tone solemn.

All the words Albert wanted to say disappeared when he heard this, and he became unable to say a thing. He kept silent, he put away his intentions to try and endear himself to her and regained an air of coldness.

He became even colder than the breeze that blew in from the river.

"Really?" Albert finally squeezed out bitterly.

Wendy's complexion was deathly pale as she said, "Yes!"

Her teeth were gritted, and it had been very difficult to get the words out. Yet, she forced a smile. "Why would I lie to you? There's no need for such a thing in this situation, is there? Logically speaking, most women would want to date you, Mr. Johnson. If I didn't already have someone I like, why would I reject your confession?"
