"Come inside, Miss," said the middle-aged woman who had opened the door and led her into the living room. The interior of the house was breathtakingly lovely. Every decoration was unquestionably pricey. She held her bag tighter, trying to feel the little semiautomatic 45 handgun filled with an 8-round magazine inside.
"Wait here," the lady said, motioning to a couch before departing from the living room. Her heart started to pound erratically. In just a few minutes, her promised vengeance will be realized. She had spent a long time preparing for this day. And she will exact her vengeance at this moment.
She studied how to use firearms for months. The enemy must be killed with just one or two bullets.
And today is an excellent day for murder. Justice must be served.
She waited for another few minutes, and with each passing minute, her heart raced to a level of excitement she'd never felt before. She's going to murder a man, a famous man, and this will be the top story in all broadcasting organizations, radio, and television stations. And she would face one of the most contentious trials in history. And they would plaster her face all over the front page. But she completely prepared her statements.
Her gaze wandered across the room, eventually settling on a large picture on the wall depicting a happy family: a father, a mother, and a boy of approximately twelve years of age. And Angela was certain that the boy was Leonardo Vera, the sole heir to the Vera Corporation. She thought the boy's bright blue eyes matched the man he was about to murder.
Then, footsteps reverberated in, and a lovely middle-aged woman in a white gown approached, smiling and accommodating.
"Hello... You're Angela, right? "My name is Minerva, Minerva Vera," she said, excitedly extending her hand for a handshake. The woman's warm greetings took Angela aback.
"My name is Angela Brinson, the applicant."
"May I read your resume?" Mrs. Vera inquired.
Angela cautiously drew her résumé from her bag, taking care not to show her weapon.
Mrs. Vera calmly read the résumé while Angela looked at the family painting on the wall again; it was Mrs. Vera who was in the painting in her younger years.
"You're hired," Mrs. Vera said simply.
What she heard from Mrs. Vera was like a bomb exploding. Mrs. Vera had just glanced at the resume for a few seconds and then hired her. Wow. They’re very desperate to hire a nurse.
"Thank you so much, Mrs. Vera. I'm so glad you hired me. "
"I need someone to take care of my son, so you can start working right now."
"Now?" Rakiza was stunned.
"Yes, is there a problem?" Mrs. Vera smiled.
Angela smiled and said, "Okay, I can start now, but the only problem is that I don't have any clothes."
"No problem." Mrs. Vera cut in softly. "You can get your belongings and then come back."
Angela was shocked by the fast pace of events.
"But before you leave, you have to see my son," Mrs. Vera said, calling her assistant, Mrs. Gale.
Angela was already tense due to the rapidity of events. She can easily shoot the enemy and flee. She was looking for an exit. On her right was the kitchen, with no separation from the living room. It was large and had a door that was most likely an exit to the back.
"What do you need, Mrs. Vera?" The same maid approached.
"Take Miss Brinson to Leo’s room," Mrs. Vera instructed. "I want you to introduce her to my son." Mrs. Vera turned to Angela and said, "Miss Brinson, this is Mrs. Gale."
"Come with me." Mrs. Gale said.
"Excuse us, Mrs. Vera." Angela then ran after the maid, and her hands were trembling.
They were walking in line in a long, dark lobby, passing by several doors until coming to a halt near the last one. Angela held her bag and felt the gun again, opening the zipper to be ready. Her target was inside the room they were going to enter.
The maid knocked twice on the door, but something hit the interior wall. Someone from the inside was throwing something on the wall.
"Perhaps you should quit now." Mrs. Gale suggested.
Angela scowled at her words. "No, I needed this job, and I wanted to see him."
The maid took a long breath and knocked again, saying in projection, "You need to meet someone, Leo."
"Get away!" yelled the man from inside.
"We'll go in Leo," the maid replied, "I have someone with me to introduce you to."
"I told you to leave!"
The maid suddenly opened the door, but something hit the wall again. She then quickly shut the door. As she leaned against the wall, her hands trembled. "You still have time to leave, Miss Brinson," she said to Angela.
Angela's blood rose in anger, and she flung open the door, only to be met by a glass that had hit her in the head and made her fall down on the floor.
The maid screamed in disbelief. "Are you okay, Miss Brinson?" she asked, pushing Angela away from the door and closing it.
Angela's vision was becoming blurry. Only the maid's screams, woes, and man's curses filled the air. She then passed out briefly and awoke, still hearing the angry man's voice.
He was screaming and cursing.
Angela opened her eyes, stood up, and touched her brow for blood, but it was still dry, so she was lucky; he missed the fatal part of her head.
"Are you okay, miss?" the maid inquired, concerned.
"I'm fine," Angela said, firmly turning her attention back to the man inside. She slowly moved, drew some strength, and pushed the door open. And she saw a man in the room's corner holding an empty tray of food and flinging it in her direction. The tray went over her head, splattering on the wall, and she remained standing near the door. She was furious.
"Get out! Everyone! " The man was growling and staring down the floor, not at her. "I told you I don't need help, son of a bitch!"
"You needed someone to look after you, Leo," the maid insisted, her voice concerned. "You know how much your mother loves you? This is for your benefit. "
"I don't deserve your care, Mrs. Gale!" He hissed adding, "I'm useless right now, and I'm going to die soon! If you want to help, please give me my gun! Alternatively, shoot me in the head! "
Angela's ears perked up. Did he want to die? And her voice was raised. "You wanted to die?"
He was staring at the wall now and sniffed, "Who's with you, Mrs. Gale?" He turned his head only to stop at the window, not at the door where she and the maid stood. And then he screamed, "Answer me, Mrs. Gale!"
Mrs. Gale jolted, "Your new nurse is here, Leo, to take care of you," Mrs. Gale said, her hands trembling.
"I don't need a nurse! Just give me my gun, and I'll shoot myself to relieve all of you from my burdens. "
"Are you really blind?" Angela asked, agitated.
The man in the corner resembled a man who had no hope in life. His unkempt hair was long, and his beard nearly covered his entire jaw. He was dressed in a dirty white t-shirt and black pants. The man in front of Angela was no longer the man in the picture of the criminal she carried, who was so attractive. What she saw was a sick, blind man.
The man moved his head, trying to locate the speaker with his ear. "Whoever you are, get out."
Angela was stunned by the unexpected reality she had discovered. She was about to kill a blind man. It filled her with confusion as she stared at him. And it would be simple for her to shoot and kill him.
"Or kill me," he gritted, and announced, "Whoever can kill me will receive a reward. Or just give me a pill. "
"Oh my God, Leo, suicide is an unforgivable sin in God's eyes." Mrs. Gale tried to preach to him, "You will rot in hell with that."
"There is no God, Mrs. Gale, because if God truly existed, he would never allow this to happen to me!"
"The wicked one should be punished!" Angela yelled, "Maybe your eyes have become the window to all your sins, and that it should be blind to punish you!"
"Who are you to talk to me like that?" Leonardo scowled.
"I'm Angela, your new nurse," Angela stated firmly.
"My new nurse?" Leo remarked sarcastically.
"How many nurses has my mother hired, Mrs. Gale?"
Mrs. Gale politely replied, "Angela would be the eighth nurse, Leo."
"See, you're the eighth nurse, and you're fired!" Leo hissed.
"Yes, I'm the eighth, and you can't fire me," Angela said calmly, adding, "Your mother is my boss, Mr. Vera. She hired me, which means she is the only one who can fire me. Is that clear? "
"You... you son of a bitch!" He yelled.
"My name is Angela Brinson, not Bitch, and I am your new nurse, whether you like it or not."
Angela's eyes were blazing with fire.
Leonardo Vera screamed, "Whoever you are, get lost! I don't want to hear your annoying voice any longer!!!" Leo's face reddened as he became enraged, as if his brain would explode in anger. He clutched his fist, ready to punch whenever the woman's voice came within earshot. "All of you get out!!!""May I remind you again, Mister, that your mother just hired me as your new nurse a few minutes ago," Angela said, firmly, adding, "And as a nurse, I should attend my duty religiously if I want to keep my job.""I don't care if my mother hires you. What I want you to do now are get lost before you regret it. I am the boss around here.""Not anymore.” Angela cut in. “No blind person can manage their lives without the assistance of others. That's the painful truth you must learn to accept. And the way I saw you now, you were in desperate need of a good bath and a good shave. You had a sloppy beard. You're not a rock singer, so you shouldn't keep that look. ""Shut up! Are you deaf? I said I di
Leonardo's girlfriend, Lara Chavez, was pounding harder on Leonardo's door. It echoed throughout the Vera mansion as Angela and Mrs. Gale rushed in from outside into the living room. Angela and Mrs. Gale entered the living room and saw a man who smiled at her. "Angela, he's Leonardo's best friend, Fredrick Milldam," Mrs. Gale said. "Nice to meet you, sir," Angela said warmly to Leo's best friend. "Are you Leo's new nurse?" Fredrick gave Angela a friendly smile. "You can call me Frex. That would make me very happy. We've come to see Leonardo. " Angela was drawn to Fredrick's boyish appearance. His curly hair was longer, as if he were a rock singer on the move. And his eyes were black, just like her sister Esper's. And she was warmed by his friendly demeanor toward her. Then Leonardo's yelling from his room filled the air once more, "Get out! Right now, I don't want any visitors! " All of their attention was focused on the direction of Leonardo's room when a door slammed and steps
Two Years Ago3:00 a.m.December 10, 1980.Hope ParkThe park was deserted, but a woman in a red dress was crying into the phone, "Oh no, Esper! "Please don't do it! " The fear was reflected in her expression. She was upset and weeping.A distraught woman's voice on the other end of the line was crying and yelling, "I want to die!" There's no use in life without him! "The woman in red was attempting to console her younger sister. "It's not the end of the world yet," she trembled, her vision blurred by tears, "you can have another man who will truly love you, and please don't do this to me.""Please come home, Angela," she said, her voice trance-like."Yes, I'm on my way home; hold on, sweetie." I'll be there in a few days. I've got my ticket in my pocket; I'll be there soon. "However, the voice on the other end of the line shrieked, and it was a death cry.The woman in red was transfixed, dropped the phone inadvertently, and knew right then that her beloved younger sister would die.
One morning, Angela came in early to clean Leonardo's room. Leonardo was on the side of his bed when Angela entered. He suddenly turned at the door where Angela stood. His hearing was getting sharper. He sniffed the air. He wanted to recognize who came in."You're a stubborn woman!" Leonardo's voice echoed. But Angela was like a rock that sparkles in a rage when struck. And the more enraged Leonardo showed, the tougher she became. "No one has a soft head, unless you're abnormal.""Get out, please," Leonardo growled, his jaw gritting."I have to clean your room and bathe you later." Angela began quietly picking up some messes on the floor."What should I do to get you out?" He groaned."You don't have to do anything because I wouldn’t go out without you taking a bath and putting on new clothes," she declared casually, "You stink." She opened the cupboard for Leonardo's shirt and trousers. She stood in front of the open cupboard silently, staring at the thick, hung clothes."It's reall
"It's still your fault," Lara continued, "you're the one holding the phone, so all you have to do is give it to Leonardo. You know, I want to talk to him. It's still your fault. "Angela's pressure increased, and Lara appeared to be out of tune. "I can't do anything if my boss refuses to speak with you." You can come if you want to speak with him. "Bye," Angela said as she hung up the phone and made her way to Mr. Vera's room."Good day, Sir." Angela came to a halt when she noticed Mrs. Vera at the window. She appeared to be sobbing. She wanted to ask, but she held back and quietly placed Leonardo's food tray on the small table."You can eat right now, Sir." The food I brought is delicious. "I know those are your favorites," Angela said, looking at Leonardo's bed. Leonardo was just lying down."Who are you to tell me what my favorite is?" Leonardo mumbled. "You're extremely obstinate. Scram! ""Have mercy on yourself," his mother exclaimed, "don't be angry with the world, Leonardo.""
Leonardo's room was silent. He lay there, blindly staring at the ceiling. Angela walked in after the door opened. "I'm here, Sir," Angela said quietly. "Why did you come back?" he moaned. "Aare you provoking me?" "I have no intention of upsetting you, sir. I really looked after you. But I came back for a variety of reasons. First, to see if you actually ate, and to thank you for eating. Second, you've got visitors. " Leonardo muttered, "Get rid of whoever they are," he coughed, "you should have known what I wanted." "Perhaps you should drink some cough medicine," she snorted, "your girlfriend, Miss Lara Chavez, is looking for you again." "We broke up," he stated. "It's none of my business, and my third intention is to check your studio. Your paintings are... "Are you crazy?" exclaimed Leonardo. "Didn't I tell you I didn't want to hear those things anymore?" "Just don't yell at me because I'm just doing what they told me to do to tell you their plan," Angela objected. "You ha
Another day had gone by, five o'clock in the morning. Angela looked in the mirror at herself. Her entire plan had shifted. She sighed, stood up, and dressed in her white nurse uniform, pinning her hair back at her nape. She emerged from her room to begin her duties as Leonardo's nurse. The living room was deserted, and there was no sign of anyone nearby. But, before entering Leonardo's room, she decided to take a walk on the lawn to re-energize. She inhales fresh air into her lungs. It was very cold outside early in the morning. She noticed that someone was talking in the back of the house. She checked it out and saw Mrs. Gale with a male companion, to whom she gave instructions. "Stay here at the back, never enter the house without permission, and if you're thirsty or need something, call me." Mrs. Gale noticed Angela above the first step of the stairs. "Good morning, Angela. He's the new gardener, but he's not a stay-in here; his name is Mr. Villa.""Just call me Anton, Miss," the g
Angela was still nervous as she boarded the cab. She was already on Jaca Street, where Leonardo had been injured and her sister had died. Her emotions were conflicted. She was curious about what had happened, but she was also afraid of what she would find out. She was curious as to why two accidents occurred on the same night and in the same location. The cab pulled up in front of Mentara's Mall. Angela arrived at the location Leonardo was checking on at 2:00 p.m. The mall was deserted; there were few shoppers in the area due to the lack of public transportation. Angela stood beneath the lamppost. She scanned the area where the accident occurred. She had just read in the newspaper and heard on the news about what had happened in the area when her sister was in an accident and died instantly on that road. According to the news, her body was being dragged by the motor at high speed, and Esper died instantly. Worst of all, Angela was on the other side of the world when her sister die
Mrs. Gale was approaching her quickly, raising her knife-wielding hand to kill her.Angela swooped down from her side and pushed Mrs. Gale against the wall. However, she cut her elbow with the knife she was holding. Mrs. Gale then prepared for another attack, but a gunshot echoed through the tunnel, causing it to shake."Stop it, Mrs. Gale!" Leonardo's voice came in frantically. His steps echoed as he dashed in to prevent Mrs. Gale from attacking Angela again. But she was fighting to be free of Leonardo. And screamed. "You're going to die, Leonardo," Mrs. Vera hissed at him."You have to stop now, Mrs. Gale," Leonardo yelled, yanking her black shirt back and ripping it off. Then, Leonardo purposefully lit Mrs. Gale's back shoulder and noticed the rose tattoo that Camilla Mantissa had told him about. It also confirmed Mrs. Atilla Gale's identity as Mrs. Rosamarie Gale Mantissa. "You'll die like your father, Leonardo," Mrs. Gale yelled as she prepared to stab him. Because of this, Leon
Angela shook as she entered the pink room. It was a duplicate of the pink room above. And she wondered why it was built beneath the mansion, hidden from the master's bedroom door. The blood on the floor, however, made her tremble. Whose blood is this? She reflected. She slid open the cupboard attached to the wall, just as she had done in the pink room above, but there was one significant difference between the two replicated rooms: the chained chair in the nook. Angela touched the chair's arms and realized it was similar to an electric chair, with straps attached at the back that appeared to serve as a body strap. She took a step back as if her fingers had been burned by touching it. There was a stumbling sound coming from outside the room, followed by steps running in. Angela hid in the cupboard's back corner. Mrs. Vera's screaming voice, asking for help, filled the room as the steps became louder. Angela ran as fast as she could to find Mrs. Vera's voice, but it was cut off the ai
Angela was running fast and screaming for help, but the heavy rain began to fall, and her voice was drowned out. She struggled on the wet ground as she tried to see if the second gate, unlike the first, was unlocked. Her eyes were blurry from rain drops as she was completely soaked when she stumbled on the ground and her foot got caught on something. A man's body was found on the ground. Angela screamed as she recognized the man; he was the guard she was looking for, and he was dead. She crawled away from the corpse and struggled to run towards the second gate at the back of the mansion. But, frustrated by the locked gate, she screamed angrily. She shook from the cold and fear. The fence was too high to climb to exit the gate. "The gun," she remembered and ran back to the house. As she entered the living room, the floor became soaked. She tightened her grip on the knife and kept her ears alert. She dashed to the kitchen to check on Mrs. Gale, but she was no longer on the ground. "Mrs
It was already 8 p.m. when Mrs. Vera retired to her room She was not feeling well. Angela waited for Leonardo's call a little longer. But hours had passed and she had received no calls. Angela had a low tolerance for waiting, especially when it came to Leonardo. She was not comfortable with the fact that there was a mysterious tunnel beneath the mansion. She could feel that something ominous was going on in the house. And that lady in white was a great threat to all of them. Whoever she is, she must be stopped.Mrs. Gale joined her later. Mrs. Gale smiled. "Leonardo is fortunate to have you as a life partner. You're free to marry now that Lara is no longer in his life. Leonardo had only gotten a headache from that b*tch. It's a good thing she's in jail now. Better for her." "I thought you liked Lara for Leonardo," Angela said, looking at her."I've disliked Lara since the first time I met her. She was arrogant and cunning. She's fortunate to have been freed from the tunnel. " Mrs.
"Here's your coffee, Mrs. Vera," Angela said as she placed the cup on the living room table. Mrs. Vera was concerned about her son's journey. Mrs. Gale was in the kitchen preparing their lunch. They were all very excited about Leonardo's trip. Angela, on the other hand, was more interested in seeing the house blueprints."I'm afraid Leonardo was correct," Mrs. Gale said as she entered the living room, placing the bowl of cookies on the couch across from Angela. "What if we're not the only ones in this house?"Angela smiled as she remembered a movie, she saw a long time ago. A house with a secret passage beneath the floor. It's a horror film that she didn't bother watching all the way through.Mrs. Gale, on the other hand, insisted on her terrifying imagination about a haunted house."I don't believe in ghosts," Angela said softly."You have to," Mrs. Vera responded quietly. "I could feel it. Someone is watching us. They're keeping tabs on everything we do.” Mrs. Vera told them about h
Leonardo was holding a flashlight in his right hand, and Angela was holding one as well. They were looking at the secret door behind the cabinet in the studio's basement. "Are you sure you want to come with me?" Leonardo asked Angela one last time. "You can wait for me here.""I'll go." Angela insisted, "Waiting is the worst thing for me. I'd like to assist you in learning the truth about this house. This tunnel was constructed for a reason. That is a fact. And it was concealed from your mother. ""If she's telling the truth," Leonardo stated flatly."You doubted your mother?""She had kept my father's terrible secrets from me. She had no reason to lie to me about this tunnel.""I can see it in her eyes that she's telling you the truth," Angela said as she walked ahead of Leonardo into the tunnel's dark hole. After a few minutes of walking, they returned to the room where Lara was being held captive. "This room was designed for a crime," Leonardo mused."You're right," Angela said as
"Keep an eye on your steps, Angela," Leonardo warned as the two waved their flashlights inside the tunnel. Leonardo kept Angela's gaze fixed on the tunnel they were following, which led them into a door. They also smelled a foul odor in the tunnel, like dead rats. And they discovered things inside the dreadful room, where they found a black bag containing a bottle of acid and a man's cap."I remember this cap," Angela raised the cap and looked at Leonardo, "this is the cap of the man who threw acid in my face." She also discovered fatigue pants and a jacket on the corner. Angela recognized all of them as her assailant's belongings."So, Lara was to blame for your scarred face," Leonardo grumbled. "And now she'll have to pay for it.""Did you happen to know about this tunnel, Leonardo?" Angela inquired."No."They all gathered in the living room to talk about and analyze what had happened that night. Mrs. Gale was making coffee for everyone. Mrs. Vera was still trembling as she imagine
It's a coincidence. Her stolen pose and appearance in Leonardo's house were entirely coincidental, and she couldn't believe her eyes when she saw her face on the canvas. But it was genuine. Their paths had crossed before she planned to murder Leonardo, and that secret had followed her since the day she fell in love with him. She tried her hardest to sleep as Leonardo desired. Leonardo decided to check on Lara's apartment after Angela confirmed her belief that Lara was the real killer. And that would be the following day.She was staring out the window. The sky was too dark, with not a single star blinking. She then stood up to close the window when she noticed a white image below it. It was just a repeat of what had happened before. A woman in a wedding gown was walking around. Angela dashed as fast as she could to reveal the truth. But when she arrived at the studio's patio, the image had vanished, and Leonardo had exited the building."What happened?" Leonardo, concerned, inquired.
The man's shadow was approaching her. She wanted to scream, but he covered her mouth too quickly. She thought, "This isn't a dream." She wasn't dreaming as the pain from the man's grip increased. She tried to break free from him, but he was stronger, and she knew who she was. "Andrew?""Angela, I can't take it any longer." Andrew drew her into his arms as she remembered what Fredrick had done to her."Andrew? What exactly are you doing? " Angela pushed him away from her."I love you, and I want you to be mine." Andrew began kissing her on the lips, moving down to her neck and breast.Angela kept pushing and struggling and was about to scream again when the door suddenly opened and another shadow broke in, pulling Andrew away from Angela. And she saw how the tall shadow of another man punched Andrew in the face. And he collapsed on the floor.Angela was shocked to see Andrew and Leonardo colliding, fighting and kicking each other, and Andrew suffering more from Leonardo's fist."You tr
