DIAMOND'S POV

A few minutes later, he arrived, and I received a text from my father with his location. He was at one of our old family buildings that had been abandoned years ago after the FBI and INP discovered it was our hideout. We had been on the run since then, until we moved to a new place.

“Sir, here are the keys," Marco said, offering me a brand new car key.

I glared at him. "Are you sure you did as I ordered? Because it's clear to me you didn't, since my father survived the incident along with the two targets," I said, and his face turned pale with fear. He must have been scared of the consequences of what I would do to him because of his failure.

“Sir, I disconnected his brake as you told me to, and...” he began.

I didn't let him finish. “And what?”

"Sir, I have no idea why he survived.” Marco completed his statement, his voice trembling.

I sighed. There was no need to punish him for this. It was my fault anyways. I should have set a bomb inside his car instead of just disc
