Twenty- Nine
“Just a minute!" Xara said as she hurried down the staircase with Elon in her arms to check who was at the door. Her maids hadn't yet arrived for duty.
“Surprise!" Penny, Alianna, Neo, Lorenzo and Lyle yelled holding a cake and some gifts.
“You guys didn't have to," she added on surprised, trying to calm a screaming Elon down.
“Come on in." she ushered them in locking the door.
The girls set the cake and other gifts in the kitchen as they joined the guys in the living room.
“I forgot today was my birthday, thanks, guys." she appreciated.
“It's no big deal, we got you." Penny smiled.
“ Hey, baby," Alianna cooed as she took Elon from Xara. She rushed upstairs to have a quick shower and dress up. The maids resumed their duties shortly after Xara went up. Elon's nanny took him to bathe him and dress him up as well. They prepared breakfast for Xara and her friends.
“ Ma'am, he's ready for his meal now." the nanny broug

Penny stood beside Lyle as the procession for his father's burial took place. It had been the two of them since he could remember. Xara walked into the building with her head held up high. She heard murmurs here and there but she didn't mind what people were saying about her no more. " ...just as I was saying," Kai added as Xara walked into his office with her Hr manager. " We'd continue this later," he dropped the call offering them seats. " No thanks, I'm fine." she smiled crossing her legs together. " Okay then," he ordered for two cups of coffee one for him and the other for Xara's Hr manager. " My secretary would forward the rest of the documents to you, it was nice doing business with you," Kai added shaking the Hr and Xara's hands. Kai couldn't seem to get his wife off his mind. It felt like he had fallen head over heels in love with her. It wasn't that he didn't love her before, but now it felt different as if he was on cloud nine. He was mesmerised by her beauty, the confidence she carried when she was interviewed or invited to events to give a speech. I can't believe I never noticed that about her.
