Chapter 62 CH 65: Not The Chosen One

It seemed the voice of my son was the key to pull me back to the real world. I blinked my eyes opened and to my delight I saw my son wrapped his small little hands on my neck. I could feel his tears on my skin. He was sobbing while calling me.

“Teddy? My baby” my voice was clearly not at my best. My throat hurts and I was definitely not at my best state, “What is that smell?”

“Not me” I heard Finley’s voice and saw him seated on my right. He smiled and nodded at me, “Welcome back, sleepy head. Where did you go?”

Then, I heard a voice of a man clearing his throat. He was seated on my left side and I could feel him holding my hand, caressing it, “How are you feeling?”

For a moment, we were staring into each other’s eyes. There was some sadness in his eyes. I could sense his uneasiness. Was it Finley that he was not comfortable with?
