ANGEL'S POV
Angel put into her mouth the drug that was given to her by the man she had met for less than a second; in other words, the young man was still a stranger to her. But she couldn't resist his teasing and drugs. Angel didn't think anymore because, in these situations, now that she's drowning in sadness, the only thing on his mind is, How can she escape from this sadness? But no one can ever escape sadness because, with every step we take, we cannot avoid carrying this sadness.Angel swallowed it because she didn't understand when she looked into Daem's eyes.
Only then did she realise that she was at ease with him and that his gentle eyes had gained her trust in a way and for a reason she didn't know.
You're just a stranger to me. I don't know you, and I don't know how you easily gain my trust. Maybe that's how some people can easily gain trust; even if they don't do or say anything, we trust them right away. Maybe it looks believable, and sometimes we go by a person's appearance.
Angel already placed her trust in this stranger. She was slowly feeling the drug hit her. As the drug flowed through his body, he felt better. Angel felt like he was in paradise, like he was in a peaceful paradise where he felt no pain.
Angel just wanted to be free, and now that she is, it's as if the drug temporarily covered every pain she feels that she tries to escape. Angel stood up from her seat and went among the dancing people.Angel removed her navel so that his long and beautiful hair fell down. Angel also removed her cloak and opened the two buttons of her vest as if she were being washed. Angel raised both of her arms above her head and waved her hands. Twisting and turning while grinding down like a madman stroking his hair, Angel noticed that the people dancing had moved aside to give him a wide space. Angel suddenly felt something on his waist, and when he turned his gaze to it, he immediately noticed a hand wrapped around it.
Angel looked up, and there she saw the man beside her, whom she didn't know. The mother smiled at her, and she smiled back, pretending to just want to dance with him as a man, so she wasn't bothered. Angel danced here, and everything was fine, until suddenly his hand came down on her body, and it was obvious that when this rude man was about to touch her before he could slap her, there were hands that pulled her, and she hid him behind her to protect her. And he realised that the man was none other than Daem, the man he had just met.
It's unbelievable, but it was Daem. And she felt safe; she felt that she was safe behind a man who was actually just a stranger to her.❝Dude, that's my girl. Find someone who can play with you,❞ said the rude man annoyingly.
It immediately received a series of strong blows that caused it to fall to the floor.Daem's jaw clenched in anger. So if this man is stubborn, he can kill in anger.
❝Try to touch her again; you die.❞ Daem threatened here.
Even though she was behind him, even though she couldn't see his eyes, she could feel the tone of his voice burning with anger.
Why is he so angry? Last time I checked, we were still strangers to each other.
That's why I should be nothing to him, but why did he just act like that? The second time, everything seemed to stop; only Daem could be seen as if there was no one else around her but him.
This hand does not want to let go of her right hand. Angel couldn't understand why she felt safe when he was with her, even though she just met him a while ago. To feel our safety in the hands of a stranger is like a great madness.
Is it possible to feel safe with someone you just met a few minutes ago? It's totally a stranger. His handsome arms pulled him out of the bar, and his feet followed his every step. But his eyes never lost sight of the statue.Angel was free to observe his face from the side, but it still didn't diminish his good looks. Angel stared at it carefully; only now did she realise that a brunette like this is attractive; he also has a piercing nose that pierces the heart, beautiful eyes that drown, and his attractive red lips that any woman would desire to kiss.
Maybe she also didn't notice that she was one of those girls? Angel admired his perfect posture. When they got out of the bar, he suddenly stopped and faced her, and because of that, she also stopped. Their eyes met as they spoke.
❝Why did you do that?❞ He asked her seriously.
❝Which one?❞ She was confused because she didn't understand him.
❝To dance with someone you don't know,❞ he explained.
Angel just laughed at what he said, even though it still had a point, because there was no difference.
Her dancing with someone she doesn't know—what's the difference between here talking to someone she doesn't even know? Nothing, because that is equally dangerous. Dancing with a stranger and talking with a stranger are both dangerous.
❝I'm actually talking to someone I don't even know,❞ she said, referring to him.
❝You already know my name,❞ he replied.
❝It doesn't mean we already know each other truly,❞ she answered.
A person's name is not enough to know his true personality. Even if he knew the name of the man he was talking to now, that didn't mean he knew him completely. Because you can only truly recognise a person by his character and not by his name. And one can only know a person's true character in the long run; a minute is not enough to know a stranger like this.
❝If that's what you want, then that's it. I and you are not friends; we are totally strangers to each other,❞ he said.
❝But I want to know you more; maybe we can truly be friends. if we can truly know each other,❞ she explained.
He promised her with a smile; she didn't know why she felt so relieved with him. Angel wanted to know him thoroughly. Angel wanted to know what was with him and was able to gain trust that she would not realize.
Sometimes we have new acquaintances who come into our lives that surprise us because we immediately feel at ease with them. And we want to get to know them more fully.
❝Do you want us to meet again?❞ He asked her.
The truth is that she still wants to get to know him completely because she feels comfortable with him, maybe because it's easy to deal with someone who can understand us.
I'd like to meet you again; maybe we can help each other.Who else would cooperate in this world? Only those who can understand each other in a world that is difficult to understand are those who both suffer from the pain of this cruel world.
❝But how? ❞ she asked.
The world is wide, and there are many people here, so she was right in her question. Because if she keeps looking for him and he keeps looking for her, it's like they're looking for a penny in a vast ocean.
❝Every night, I'm always here, and I have a night party if you just want to come. ❞ this invitation.
Angel doesn't like night parties because she doesn't like the darkness that hides danger, but right now she doesn't care about her own safety anymore because, even to live, she feels she doesn't deserve it. Her twin died because of her; her sister paid for her carelessness. It was as if she would carry this feeling forever—the feeling that she couldn't sleep or eat because she felt guilt.
Should she blame herself? An accident is an accident; no one likes it, but why can't we avoid feeling guilty about it? But at this point, she is taking on everything; she's the one who made a mistake and the one who must pay the merciless world for her wounded heart.
❝Where and when?❞ she asked.
Daem took something from his pocket and pulled out a card with an address written on it. Angel watched him first, then returned her attention to the man in front of her.
❝That's the address where the night party will be held, and it's tomorrow night.❞ He took her right hand and put the card on her palm, then he also closed her palms.
Daem seemed to notice that she didn't have a car with her.
❝Did you want me to give you a ride?❞ He offered her.
Angel may feel better about him, but she shouldn't trust him completely, because there is a high possibility that she will be harmed if she trusts a stranger completely.
❝I'll just take a taxi,❞ she said, rejecting his offer.
It's not bad to give trust, but it shouldn't be too much. Because when you give too much trust, you can destroy it.
Angel had already violated her mother's order—don't talk to strangers—because she just wanted someone to comfort her heavy feelings of not knowing her and not being able to judge her. Maybe she can just apply what her mother said:If a stranger offers a ride on you, don't accept it because it's too dangerous. Actually, she's going to be ashamed of it, so she doesn't want to bother him anymore.
❝Then I'll just wait for the taxi. I just want to make sure you go home safe because if something bad happens to you, I'll feel guilty.❞ This made her understand.
I thought he was concerned about me, but it turned out that he doesn't want to feel bad if anything happens to me.
Only then did she realise that in this world, helping others is sometimes involuntary. Sometimes it is consent and mercy. Angel doesn't want to be seen by the people around her, because she will only feel more sorry for herself when it happens.
Sometimes we think that the people around us care, so they help us, but it turns out that it is only our conscience that makes it exist. After all, when you let go of someone you know and see them in harm's way, you're sure to feel guilty.
As soon as she was with him, she immediately taught him a lot, and one of them was how cruel the world is.When the taxi arrived, Daem immediately opened the door for her. And she didn't pay attention to the smile that accidentally appeared on her lips. Daem was such a gentleman. Daem faced the taxi driver.
❝Make sure she will go home safe if something happens to her. Better prepare yourself, because I know you're the plate number of this taxi, and I know we're the taxi company you work for.❞ this threat that the taxi driver only answered with a nod.
Why does she feel cared for? This was the first time she met him, and from his actions, she felt that this person was very caring. Because she didn't know him, she could have a crush on him.
Maybe there are people who are really good when they see someone in need and are open to helping even if they don't know each other. Angel can see that the future wife of this man in front of her is so lucky because this guy will be a living knight in shining armour for her.
Protective.
DAEM'S POV Daem fearlessly drives his vehicle into a dark alley and stops in front of a building that looks small. But inside, you will realise that it is big and wide because there is a lot hidden inside that is not visible from the outside. Before getting out of the car, Daem made sure that his only friend in this world was in his pocket, and that was none other than his gun. When he finally got out of his car, he was immediately greeted by two men whose faces were familiar to him. He just kept on walking until they blocked his path, so he couldn't stop being tortured, even though he was a man. ❝Just an inspection, Sir!❞ said a guard named Berth. Yes, he knows it. Not just known but well-known, and also his gender because he is not new to this kind of place, but until now, if he is treated as if he is different? He can't be trusted by them, and he will also understand them because, in such a dangerous place, trust that everyone knows can be bought at the right price is not fashio
ANGEL'S POV Suddenly, the taxi she was riding in stopped. Maybe it was going to take her to the place she said she was going to? But where exactly is she going? In her house, she had no other company but their steward. Her whole family lives in Baguio. Angel was the only one who had the courage to get out and run away from the painful reality that her twin, who was always with her, was dead. ❝We're here, ma'am,❞ said the taxi driver as he peered at her through the mirror in front of him. But Angel was still leaning and crossing her arms in her seat as if she had no intention of leaving because she knew that the only thing waiting for her where she was staying was none other than the sadness she was trying to escape. Angel closed her eyes and wanted to rest, at least for a moment, but it was as if the world didn't want to allow her when she heard a noise, causing her to open her eyes. ❝Ma'am! Are you okay?❞ The taxi driver asked her with concern. Angel ignored his question and
DAEM'S POV He walks to the third floor of the condominium because his unit is there. When he got there, he immediately stopped when he noticed a woman bent over and sobbing. She was sitting in front of his door; he didn't know who it was. Because it was bent over and he couldn't see her face, it was as if he was familiar with her because of what she was wearing. Daem immediately approached it and lowered himself to touch it because it was already sitting. ❝Miss!❞ he got her attention when he touched her shoulder. Daem immediately caught her attention when she yawned. ❝Angel? ❞ he called her name. Even though her long hair blocked her face a bit, it didn't stop her from recognising him. It didn't stand up right away, so he took a stand for it himself and went down for it. Daem doesn't know, but he feels that she needs sympathy. Even if he is not good at comforting people, he is still ready to accompany her. ❝What are you doing here? ❞ he asked here when he also sat in front of
ANGEL'S POV She entered the young man's condo unit, and she looked around every corner. When you enter this unit, you will immediately feel sadness. Sadness when you live here is delivered by the arrangement of its condo unit. ❝I have a headache,❞ she complained. Maybe this is the effect of drinking too much alcohol, but she tried not only alcohol but also illegal drugs that could mix with the alcohol. ❝I drank too much,❞ she said. Angel heard every step of Daem coming closer to her while she closed her eyes and repeatedly felt the pain in her head. ❝You didn't drink too much; maybe you're just not really used to alcohol,❞ he said from behind her. ❝Maybe,❞ she agreed. Angel opened her eyes, and only then did she pay attention to her surroundings, which indicated great sadness. She felt as if the owner of this place was living in darkness. And sadness because there is almost no life around it, as if its living colour has died for a long time and is being consumed. Because
ANGEL'S POV She just graduated Cumlaude in the agriculture course, and from elementary school to college, she was always at the top of the class. There are many people who regret that she only took the agriculture course because she's also capable of higher courses. When it comes to sports, she is always the champion of her school, and she's always won; she's never lost. Everyone said. ❝She's an example of perfection❞ because of the beauty and brain she has. Even though she's perfect but still a simple girl, she chose a simple life rather than a complicated position because she doesn't want trouble, but now she doesn't avoid trouble anymore; she's the one who approaches it. An accident that she could not accept changed the way she lived her life. The incident in her life proved that there is nothing perfect in the world; everyone makes mistakes just like everyone else stumbles. ❝Study first, Bookworm. Books before boys are what I used to apply when I was still studying.❞ she told
DAEM'S POV The two of them seem to be enjoying their conversation because they no longer realise how time is running. Daem looked at the time on his watch, and it was twelve midnight. Maybe he was looking for the girl he was with, so he immediately stood up and got her attention. ❝Let's go!❞ he invited me her. ❝Ha! Where? ❞ she asked confusedly while still sitting. Daem approached her and stared into her eyes without fear. ❝It's twelve o'clock at night,❞ he informed her. ❝What is it?❞ It asked as if it didn't matter. ❝What is it? It's late; what do you think of me? Vampire that never sleeps,❞ he reasoned. Yes, maybe he uses illegal drugs, and maybe because of that, he is a drug addict, but even so, he still sleeps to rest. But Angel still didn't stand up from her seat, as if what he said was not important. Is this girl numb? She doesn't know how to feel. ❝Then sleep,❞ she simple said. Daem just gasped at its awkwardness. ❝How can I sleep? If you are here,❞ he asked. ❝Si
ANGEL'S POV She stretched as she woke up, but her eyes were still closed until her wrong action suddenly made her fall. ❝Ouch!❞ she fell on the cold floor. Angel immediately realised that because of that, she got up even though her fall hurt because she didn't expect anyone to help her because she was alone until there were hands that she didn't know where they came from. These hands helped her to stand up. Wait, I'm alone in the room. Whose hand is this? Angel knows that their maid does not just enter her room, so whose hand is it? It couldn't be a thief; that wasn't possible because he found out that she was only in the house, so he dared to enter her house. Angel held that hand tightly so that it wouldn't let go, and she flipped it with all her might, even though it was heavy. Her father is a general of the police, so it is not impossible that she knows this simple way of self-defence because, as the daughter of a general, even if she's a woman, and even if she's not a police
ANGEL'S POV She didn't realise that her feet had taken her to a place where it was noisy because of the deafening music and dancing people who seemed to be breaking out of the corral because they were party animals. Angel just covered her two ears with her two hands; she opened her palms enough to cover her ears because she had to protect her ears from the deafening and ear-aching noises that people make here while dancing, including the music that makes the people here tremble as it is very loud. She's in a famous bar in Manila that is frequented by those who want to have fun. She looked around, which was really refreshing to her eyes, stopping her eyes on two people who were busy as if they had their own world. Her eyes narrowed when she saw a woman and a man kissing, oblivious to the people around them.Angel quickly removed the covering of her hand from her ear, and she immediately covered it over her eyes, which were swollen because of what she had witnessed that women and men
