Chapter 85

JASMINE

After training ended for the day, while exiting the locker room, I spotted Blake with some other guys doing dumbbell exercises. As soon as our eyes locked, he put his weights down and ran over to me. He wrapped his arms around me and kissed me on my cheek. It felt so good to be in his arms.

“I’ve missed you, Miss Alpha,” he whispered into my ear.

“It’s only been a couple days,” I replied.

“A couple days too long. How long until you finally move into the packhouse?”

“Blake, I’ve been thinking,” I started.

“What about?” He stared into my eyes with his piercing blue ones.

“Maybe we should talk about it later,” I said, looking around at how many people were in the gym now.

Hello, readers! I know that Jasmine goes into a bit of an emotionally dark place in this book, and it's not always fun to read about characters dealing with their mental health. TBH, I wrote this book while I, myself, was battling with my own issues and it definitely came out in my writing. I thought it worked since Jasmine is still dealing with the rejection, hasn't been marked by Blake yet, and she's preparing for A LOT of responsibility at only 21 years old. I don't know about you, but as a fellow perfectionist, I'd be freaking TF out if I were in her shoes. I hope you'll all appreciate that I strive to show my characters' full range of emotions. But, as always, would love to hear what you think!

While I can relate to Jamine’s insecurities, I honestly feel like her character is just not developing anymore, she’s just going around the same thing over and over

Jasmine’s insecurities are definitely something that I can relate too. Especially “am I good enough”. That is a horrible insecurity for anyone to have.
