Chapter 49

BLAKE

After I returned from my visit and finished up with work for the day, Jasmine came over at six. I had the table set for two and had asked Connie to make Jasmine’s favorite—Connie’s chicken cordon bleu and potatoes au gratin. I set everything out on the table along with two small salads in preparation for the evening.

She came into the packhouse, looking stressed as usual. “How was training?” I asked, pulling her in for a kiss as soon as she walked in.

“It was fine,” she replied, pulling away. “I’m glad I finally have the day off tomorrow.”

“Connie made your favorite.” I smiled at her, taking her hand to bring her over to the dining table. “I hope you came hungry. Although, if you aren’t, I’d be happy to skip straight to dessert.” I smirked, trying to cheer her up.

She walked over to the table and took a seat. We each put food on our plates and began eating quietly. “Is there something on your mind?” I asked, noticing she was being much quieter than usual.

Hello, readers! Please let me know what you think of Wolfblood so far! I'd love to know your thoughts. This book is much darker than the first one, and I spent a lot of time stressing about posting it to be read by others as it deals with much more serious issues than the first book. I'd love to know your honest opinion. Do you like that this book is darker and deals with real-world issues? Or do you prefer more light and fluffy reads?

Well for starters you could have given Lucy and Luke a hard life not these roses they are living in after hurting Jaz. That was the only dark I was looking for since you keep mentioning "dark" and I can't find it anywhere in the book....

I agree Cheryl! And the author’s ability to express real thoughts & feeling without glossing over them. I know some have been frustrated with the way some of the characters have been behaving/reacting but trying to understand where they’re coming from and their past experiences shape their reactions
