For a few seconds Sophia did not understand what happened except Saul staring down at her angrily. Her mind felt blank and heart thudded loudly against her chest. Feet were rooted to the ground as she peered back at him in shock. Did he just slap her? No words were spoken between them and neither were they required. Everything was over between them.
Sophia could recollect this was the second time he slapped her in the two months of wedding that they had. His hand works faster than his mind. She wasn’t his toy that he can play the way he wants. Sophia entered his life for a reason. If he can’t keep his promise of at least seeing her like a human, there is no point in her staying with him.
