“I don’t see a point in saving our marriage now. Get in.”

While Austin did get into the car, he refused to drive.

He looked at me tearfully. “No one is perfect. I made a mistake because I didn’t see Kirsty for who she was. We’ve been together for eleven years. Shouldn’t that count as something? I deserve a shot to make things right. I never meant to hurt you!”

“If you didn’t mean to hurt me, why did I have to go through years of gaslighting, suffer massive bleeding from early labor, and lose my child?”

Instead of crying, I kept my composure the whole time.

However, Austin put his hands over his face, tears spilling between the cracks of his fingers.

I was annoyed. “You can cry once our divorce is finalized. Don’t waste my time.”

When Austin took time off to go on vacation with Kirsty, I cried bitter tears after a fight with him, and he told me, “I’m on a night shift later. Can you not waste my time? I could be resting by now.”
