I AM STILL eighteen years old and currently in my last year in senior high. Well, that simply means I still have to go to school, and I really hate it.
Donning my blue gingham plaid knitted sleeveless vest over my white collared shirt tucked in my high-waist black skater skirt, I graced the hall of that state college which offered senior high school as well. My outfit of the day was the reinvented version of Cher Horowitz's style from the ‘90s film Clueless.
I really love that film and also Mean Girls, Legally Blonde, Gossip Girls, and others which introduced female leads with iconic taste for fashion. In fact, when I was younger, hindi ko naman masyadong pinoproblema iyong paglilipat namin ng mga lugar. I don't really care about where we're heading. I am happy and contented as long as my Barbie lived in a pretty doll house jam-packed with clothes, bags, and killer heels.
What's there to be embarrassed for? Self-expression is an art form, and it's closely related to fashion. I dressed up not to impress others but to make myself feel better.
I spun around to look at her.
“Couz, chin up!
Kaso... nasa probinsya kasi tayo, e.”
“So?” I asked, genuinely confused.
“Baka manibago sila sa ‘yo...”
Pumalatak ako at nagpameywang. “Couz, I told you. They need to have patience with my presence. As if naman, magtatagal tayo rito. We're just passing by.”
“Good morning, people!” one girl announced and before I could even look at her, she proceeded to bump me on the shoulder.
I smirked and spun around to face them. I gave them my sweetest yet fakest smile.
“That's not how Regina George does it,” I told them.
“Ha? Ano raw?”
I fought the urge to roll my eyes. Apparently, they didn't know who's the meanest queen bee.
“Oh, by the way, I love your skirt,” nakangiting sabi ko roon sa bumangga sa akin kanina. “It looks straight out of your grandmother's closet. So vintage!”
I chuckled. “Couz, chill.”
“You sound like Lola Panya.
“Huwag kang mag-aalala, couz. Akong bahala sa ‘yo.”
Chadleen was too sweet and good. Medyo nerdy din at clumsy, that's why she's becoming the subject to bullying in our every school. My cousin slash best friend was just too precious for the world.
I saw how his eye color changed, pero pagkurap ko ay nawala agad iyon.
The corner of his lips pulled up for a mischievous grin. “It's nice seeing you again... Baleleng.”
The guy mentioned a different name yet he was looking at me. My smart cousin would obviously get it right away — nagpapanggap ako gamit ang ibang pangalan.
The guy beside him stirred and lifted his head to look at us.
“Ayos, ah. May bago pala tayong classmates. Hello, transferees!” he greeted as he playfully waved his hand at us.
The tattooed guy looked betrayed. “Tol, huwag mo akong iwan!”
“Gago!”
I know and I can feel that he was referring to me.
Don't tell me that they're going to be my classmates... Oh, what a great way to start my first day in this school!
I turned to her and gave her a sweet smile. I'm two-faced. I tend to deceive others with my sweet smile. I can make it seem like something genuine and the same time, full of sarcasm.
“Hindi ako perpek, but at least, inamin mo ring maganda ako,” I teased.
“Settle down, everyone. We'll start the day through attendance. Say present if your name is called,” the teacher announced.
She seemed strict but not too uptight.
“Daez, Felix Joaquin.”
“Present!” the tattooed guy sitting beside Gideon enthusiastically retorted while waving his raised hand when his name got called.
“Primo, Gideon.”
“Good morning, ma'am.”
Ah... baka sipsip.
“Acosta, Ruby Lane.”
“Present!” sagot naman no'ng feeling bully kanina.
“Perei–Oh, may bago pala kayong mga kaklase. Nakalimutan ko.” The teacher looked at us from the attendance she was holding. “The two Pereriras, can you introduce yourselves in front of the class?”
I will take the lead because Chadleen will surely follow.
May biglang pumalakpak mula sa likuran at sumigaw pa. “Go, Baleleng!”
“Good morning, everyone. I am Angie Lou Pereira, eighteen. No permanent address, and that would be all,” honest at maikli kong pakilala.
I smiled at her to make her feel comfortable and to encourage her more.
“Good morning. I am Chadleen Iya Pereira. I am eighteen years old, and Angie Lou Pereira is my cousin. It's nice meeting you all...”
“Nice meeting you too, miss!”
Kunot-noong nilingon ko kung sino iyong sumigaw. It was the tattooed guy sitting beside Gideon, Felix. I inwardly shook my head. I don't think he's good for my cousin.
Our day went... okay. Although she really noticed my height, she let me sit with my cousin.
“Mom, we're here!” I announced as I entered the kitchen.
May narinig akong parang nabasag kaya agad kong hinanap si mommy. I found the broken pieces of our glass bowl scattered on the floor.
“I will help you na, mom,” I offered.
“No, it's okay. How's school, sweetie?”
“It's okay, mom.”
“Did you make friends there?”
“Did you enjoy your first day, honey?” malambing na tanong ni mommy dito habang yakap-yakap si Chadleen.
Mommy served as Chadleen's mother, too. The adults never talk about her too kaya wala rin kaming ka-ide-ideya kung nasaan na ito at kung anong nangyari rito. I love seeing them this close as well. Chadleen deserved to feel the love of a mother, too. I can always share my mom with her.
“Opo, tita.
Sagot mabait, e. I couldn't say it was wrong. It's just that... not all of them were good. Chadleen just doesn't want to paint them or anyone else as bad.
I asked.
I looked at them and found them locking eyes. Para silang kinakabahan na nag-aalala. Did I miss out anything?
Hindi kalaunan ay nginitian ako ni mommy. “Anong nawawala, sweetie?”
I lifted my attention towards my mother again who was waiting for my answer. Takang-taka man ay umiling na lang ako. Paanong...
I looked back at the kitchen to see mommy over my shoulder. She gave me an assuring smile, telling me through it that everything was fine. Weird but I let it slipped.

I HELPED LOLA Panya sat on her rocking chair that was settled in our patio.“Aray... Mommy encouraged me to go out with her, Chadleen, and Mignonette for a jog but I refused. Aside sa ayoko sa mga plastic, I sincerely care for the
ONE OF THE rules that I have learned and strictly follow from the Mean Girls was that, ‘On Wednesdays, we wear pink.’ That's why today I'm sporting a white tube underneath my pink cropped buttoned blazer partnered with its matching pink high-waist midi skirt. High-waist kasi bawal kita ang pusod dito sa state college which honestly surprised me kasi bawal iyon pero hindi bawal ang tadtad sa tattoo. I'm not hating on Deon's best friend, Felix, who was tattooed. I just find it so weird why they're letting him in and loose. Dapat fair! I want to wear crop tops kasi and this rule was preventing me from doing it.Anyway, I had my long straight hair tied in a half-ponytail using a pearl barrette. I also put on some dangling earrings that were composed of connected daisies and a pair of white stiletto from Louboutins.“There!” I happily announced after closing Chadleen's backpack.
Deon was surprisingly snob and withdrawn today. I don't know what to feel. We were told to wear our PE uniforms because we will be having the activity today.
We were partners again for an activity. Natiyempuhan ulit na napili kami bilang magkagrupo. Our teacher asked us to go to our pairs respectively. When I sat back, I crossed my legs in a sophisticated way. I loved sharing my OOTDs, just so you know, I was sporting a terno yellow and white gingham plaid tweed bishop sleeves jacket and skirt over its matching cropped spaghetti strap top. Naka-knee socks din ako and white Gucci sneakers. I was
However, I noticed how conflicted his eyes were. This was easier for us both. I don’t like being friends with the likes of him. Iyon bang they cannot be themselves when they were around me simply because they always thought and believed that I was way out of their league. He licked his lips, slightly lowered his head, and frowned. I couldn’t help but frowned as well as I continued watching him. It seemed like it was his way of contemplating about something. Very funny because despite hiding in his strong façade, his soft qualities inside would always surface. Unlike me, he just couldn’t conceal them. He was not good at it no matter how hard he tried. Pretending was simply not built for him. It was not his strongest suit.
BEFORE DEALING WITH Deon, I have to deal with Felix first. Dapat ko munang iganti ang pinsan ko. It was Saturday afternoon and since Chadleen and I had nothing to do, I have asked her to take me to Felix’s place so I could punch him on his goddamn face. They were living on the beachside. Medyo na-distract ako sa ganda ng lugar. I didn’t know that such place actually exists in this province – white sand beach with crystal clear waters plus the cool breeze. I
THE GUYS SENT us home. I gathered my courage to face Deon beside me to tell him, “Thank you.”“Salamat nga pala—”We both stopped because we said those same words in chorus. I loved how genuin
I just took him with me after he bid his farewell to Richelle. I felt guilty for using Deon but not bad for taking him away from Richelle. She was already acting possessive over him, and I do not like what I was seeing. I often watched this kind of drama on television, but it never occurred to me that it will happen to me also.“I’m sorry…” usal ko nang kaming dalawa na lamang at malayo na sa kaninuman.“Para saan?”“Magre-review kasi sana kayo ni Richelle. Naistorbo ko
Rich Witchita Problems . . . . . Witchitan. a special kind of witches who hailed from the Beast Republic and who can wield both black and white magic with their male members as the ones conceiving their offspring. (Witchita Series #2) Being born in a supreme and wealthy Witchita clan, life had not been easy for Rosendo Stefan Cavendish. It always came with a price in the form of numerous problems. Ever since he was young, he had been through countless kidnappings, hostage-takings, and scams which he was able to survive through his magic. His bigger problem arrived in the human form of his best friend, Ruby Lane Acosta, with who he had fallen deeply in love since they were seven years old. The thing was, Ruby Lane did not seem to heed his feelings even after all the years. Instead, she kept pushing him away. His biggest problem happened when he got pregnant with her and foun
Ciao! This is the special chapter. Thank you so much for being with me in this long journey, and see you on our next one, on the second Witchita installment – the Rich Witchita Problems. Warning: This chapter may contain scenes not suitable for readers aged eighteen and below. Reader discretion is advised. TODAY WAS MIRACLE’S second birthday and mine and Deon’s first wedding anniversary. However, Deon and I felt really exhausted with our daily routine, papasok kami sa kolehiyo nang salit-salitan tapos aalagaan namin si Miracle at gagawa pa ng mga gawaig-bahay. I let him because I feel like he was doing this to project the things he wa
Hello, Charmings! 🤗 This will be the end of a guide called the back matter, or simply the epilogue. I would like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude that you have come with me this far. I will forever treasure all the gems, reviews, comments, and coins that you have shared with me. Writing Witchita’s Guide to Successful Parenting has always been one of my greatest dreams – a witch’s story that would undertone a deeper theme which was about sex and gender roles. Now, I am glad to announce that the story of this Witchita Family will not end here. We will still have 3 or more tales under the Witchita Series. We will have Ross and Ruby Lane’s story, Chadleen and Felix, and Mignonette and her ringmaster love interest (yes, a carnival theme story). Without your support, I would not have also reached this far. I certainly owe you a lot, and I will promise to make more and improve in each st
DUMATING NA SINA Chadleen at Felix dito sa dating bahay namin sa Sidero. I called them to enlist their help in freeing Deon’s whole pack from Igor and Vicenzo. “Natawagan mo na ba sina tito?” nag-aalalang tanong niya agad sa akin pagkatapos niya akong yakapin. “Oo, natawagan ko na sila. We need their help, too. Nagulat sila at nagalit but then when I told them na balak gamitin ng mga Nodram mula sa South Region ang pack nina Tito Leon upang sakupin ang buong Abseiles ay pumayag naman sila agad. Actually, they’re already on their way here.” “Sinong kasama nila?” “Mommy said it will only be daddy, Kuya Will, and Tito Khalil.” “Si Miracle?” she asked after looking around. “Did you make sure that they are in a safe place?”
WE WENT IMMEDIATELY to the Cavendish Palace. Ross was still attending to the kids kaya hindi agad namin siya nakita o nakausap man lang. She was calm and really… smart. Pulidong-pulido iyong plano niya and not a slightest sight of panic can be observed from her. Sobrang talino ni Chadleen but she would sometim
OUR TALK WENT on where we found out more about the past of the Acosta Family that can be traced back to us and also to what happened to Deon’s pack.“I-I am sorry…” pausal na paghingi ng paumanhin ni Tupe sa akin habang nakayuko pa rin ang ulo niya.Thinking about the things that happened in the past, I suddenly realized that Tupe scared the hell out of me and yet… he never hurt me. Looking at him now, I understood why. He might look terrifying but he was never the type who will hurt anyone. She did not raise her children to become violent and evil. Tupe seemed more like a gentle giant to me. You have my forgiveness.”Dahan-d
RUBY LANE HAD taken us to her family home. To make him really stay, she told him to take good care of Miracle while we were away. When we reached her place, we found her abode to be simple yet seemingly bright and alive. There were different sorts of plants in their yards which ran a gamut from flowering to non-flowering and from big to small. The plants beautifully matched and ornamented their house’s white wall with brown outlines for doors and windows that were made from wood. It gave a certain type of peace and familiarity.
He looked calm and serious, but it was the kind of calm before the raging storm. His fists were also clenched and the veins in his forearms were now visible. I know that he was trying so hard to control his anger. I hugged Miracle more. I had also observed that some men who we
Of course, they disagreed. I kept assuring them that I can now control my chi and Deon had already unlocked his Alpha potentials. If there will be emergencies, we can surely fight and protect Miracle and ourselves. At the end, they still did not agree.“Hindi ko maintindihan, Chad. It was Deon who washed them, by the way.
