Rebecca shifted her eyes behind her and froze, finding Edward standing. His eyes bore a chilling terror as they looked down at her. It made Rebecca swallow a wave of uneasiness.

'She could not be such an unfortunate woman. Wasn’t he supposed to be in a business meeting? How come he is here?'

"Ed, you surprise me, man!" Connor exclaimed and pulled Edward in a light hug. Connor was shocked- Edward showing up to a party that was unrelated to any business was the last thing he had expected.

"I am surprised, too! I can see you invited a lot of people, even the people who have no reason to be here," said Edward, his tone edged with irony. As he said, his gaze landed on Rebecca, who immediately understood his words aimed at her. She was an unnecessary person in this party.

Connor, noticing the tension between Edward and Rebecca quickly stepped up, saying, "She is my date. Don't scare her away!" Connor grabbed Rebecca's hand and pulled her close.

★★★★★ "My wife!" Edward shouted, the eerie coldness in his eyes left the man struggling to stand upright. His voice shook like a leaf as he answered, "I don't know your wife, sir. I work in this cafe and also take care of this place because many teenagers come here to take drugs!" Hearing the man, Edward let go of his wrist, which was on the verge of snapping from the force Edward put. The man began rubbing his wrist, feeling as though he could not hold anything with his right hand for a while. His thoughts were interrupted by a picture Edward showed on his phone. Edward replied with a smug expression, his lips twitching at the corner. He had already planned to kick the door if his fist failed to wake people up."Then why didn't you go to your doctor and kick his door open? You could get better treatment for your hand!" Rebecca said and held his right hand; carefully, she began to remove the glass pieces from his hand with the help of a tweezer."Why did you turn off your phone and I believe before that you did have seen missed calls from me?" Edward asked coldly, closely looking at Rebecca's soft features. Her supple cheeks had a soft tint, which must be because of the chilliness in the room, and trailing down she had beautiful lips. "Yes, I did! It did not concern me why you had called. Do you

His hands clenched at his sides, itching to lash out, but his curiosity for the flaw in his grand plan kept him rooted.Edward stepped slightly to the side, positioning Rebecca protectively beside him. His gaze bore into Connor with quiet intensity. "Your mistake?" he began, voice steady and deliberate. "It started the moment Grandfather insisted I give you an equal opportunity in the business. When I allowed you to take charge of the projects I owned, you thought you had won."Connor scoffed, though unease flickered in his eyes. "Then why did you let me control everything, even the Blue Heaven properties?"Edward's lips curved into a sharp, humourless smile. "Control? You own nothing, Connor. The papers you collected—stolen, actually—are all fakes. I orchestrated every move, letting you believe your schemes were succeeding. Why? Because I knew you had Grandfather imprisoned on that island.
