Neil Sandoval was a young billionaire in New York who started from the very bottom to be the President in Sydney's company. Everyone adored him for aside from being physically attractive, he was also an epitome of humbleness and kindness. Sydney Klein was a businesswoman who actually wanted to live freely without her mother's commands and judgements. All of her life, she had been doing good. But her love was being tested when Neil suddenly forgot their marriage. Forgotten. Chased. Remembered.

My eyes widened in shock when Auntie Trinidad just yelled at me using her extremely angry voice, causing me step back. Shaking my head in confusion, I wiped my tears away, and my heart clenched even more the moment my mother, my own mother, just looked at with disgust.
"Mom--" I begged, my heart aching drastically.
"Don't call me mom. You are not my daughter, and you will not always be! Remember that!"
"No..." My voice broke in tension. Some people became curious that they had the audacity to gossip, making me feel embarrassed. I was sure I looked like a completely insane woman right now because of my crying face, but walking off or surrending never crossed in my mind. I needed to face this. I needed to meet him.
"Just a second, Auntie," I murmured using my uncontrolled voice. Although I always wished to call her 'mom', I didn't have any choice but to call her 'auntie' because that's what she wanted to happen.
She wished to see me suffer despite the fact I had been doing my best in my entire life. Hence, I could not see any reason for her to hate me like this. It really seemed like to loath me to the core and break my heart were so easy for her.
"I want to talk with my husband. I have the right to ask about his condition!" I shouted, still feeling shaken deep inside. I was the witness how weak I was before, but now I wanted to do everything -- even if it meant arguing with my mother -- just to make sure my husband was safe.
"Your husband?" she fought back, her wide eyes attacking mine. Ones that similar to mine and also the ones that never made me feel loved since I was a juvenile. She gasped again, as if I was the most crazy woman she had ever met in her entire life.
Yeah. I was right. It's like carrying me when I was entirely clueless in her tummy was the biggest mistake she'd ever made.
"Just give me a minute! He needs me! I need him! We both need each other!" I shook my head in disappointment again, almost begging for a second life.
"The question here is that 'Does he need you too?'. What do you think, my lovely daughter?"
Because of her last words, my body landed in the hospital floor, making people around gasp in surprise, while I was here, completely furious, didn't know what to do anymore. The place was surrounded by uncountable people but my heart felt so heavy yet so empty.
"I am begging you!" I cried again, my knees placed on the floor intentionally to have her love and understanding. I never planned to kneel like this, but for myself, for my husband, I'd do everything. Literally everything, even if it also meant lowering my pride.
"Hmm, not enough still," she teased me again, that's when she moved her free feet towards me. My breath caught in my throat when I classified what she wanted me to do. I shook my head, but I bit my lip again, shook my head again. Jesus, I was torn between to face her challenge and just run off!
"Woah!" she shouted in surprise when I kissed her feet, and a tear fall my right eye hopelessly, that's when more tears became competitive that they started to stream also. My lips were still in her feet, for I was waiting for her to say 'stop' and hug me then say that she regretted for treating me bad.
But that didn't happen at all. For my mother, completely abandoned me this time. And what I could do now was to cry, cry like silently, cry over and over again.
"What's this all about?" a baritone voice made my eyes shut in tension. I was now shaking because his aura really hit differently. His smell lingering in all my senses. "Mom, what're you doing? This is so inhumane!"
I cried even more. Even though my eyes were being covered with a lot of tears, I still could see his eyes pointing at me. Worrying, he helped me stand up and guided my chin so that we could stare at each other. The way his jaw moved rigidly made me want to hug him forever, but I knew I couldn't. I couldn't because I shouldn't.
"If this happens again, I am sure, Mom, you'll regret hurting an innocent woman!" said the man again. I did not know how he managed to be responsible using only his voice. His eyes were so adoring and promising. The sharpness of his jaw could take everyone's breath away.
"Neil," I called him using my whisper-like tone, but I was taken aback when he just stared at me. He looked clueless, as if he didn't know his own name. "Neil thank you for saving me! I thought you don't like me anymore! Neil, please give me a second chance! Let's start for a new life! I promise to be good to you!"
And just like that, he stared at me again. And by this time his depths attacked my system drastically. I was about to grab his neck to kiss him and prove him he's the only one who captured my heart when he step back, looking at me using his the-hell-are-you-thinking? look. And when my mother made a victorious smile, I almost lost myself.
What's happening? Why were they acting like I was a stranger?
"Neil, please don't act like that. This is me, your Sydney! Do you remember me? We even came from a romantic date yesterday. Hmm, what else..?" I was having a hard time in finishing my sentence because something was blocking my airway. "We... we made love last night. Y-you said to me how much you love me. W-we made a promise under the moo--"
"I am not Neil," my husband coldly replied, "I don't remember you, Miss. Besides, my name is Cal, and I am not your husband." The worries in his eyes were now gone in just a heartbeat. Earlier, he was looking at me with full of sympathy, but now that he heard me saying the truth -- that he's really my husband and we had a lot of plans before -- he changed immediately.
"No, you've got to be kidding me!" I looked at my mom again, who's now hiding her smile, even though it's very obvious. "What happened, mom, auntie or whatever-name-you-want-me-to-call-you, what the hell happened? Why can't he remember me?!"
I didn't expect that a lot of securities would come to me as if I was a patient making a chaos. I fought with all my best, but it was so hard for me to have a talk with the securities to explain my side since they seemed my
mother's personal guards.
"H-How could you do this to me?" I asked her, my voice trembling, and my eyes diverted to Neil's again. "How about you? Stop acting like that! I know how you love me! If you're planning to set a revenge because of what I did before, then you can't fool me!"
"Miss," he commented again, his voice cold still, "I am sorry for not remembering you. But maybe, you were my close friend before. I am sorry but I am not committed with someone right now."
"You're married to me!" My voice broke even more, tears flooding my cheeks. "We exchanged vows so don't you dare to just act like all the sacrifices we made together are useless!"
Shaking his head, he stared at my face for a long moment to probably examine my face, that's why hopes were starting to build up inside my system. But when he bowed down his head, pinched the bridge of his nose, I covered my face for them not to see me crying.
"Hush, don't cry. Your tears don't deserve to fall," he said gently yet rigidly. "I don't remember you, yes. But I can sense you're a good person, hmm? So, relax. Let's be friends."
Suppressing my mourns, I turned around, so my back was the only thing they could see and judge. I closed my eyes even more, feeling the pain, and letting it embrace the whole me.
"I don't want to be your friend, Neil," I said after a long moment. "How can a wife be just a friend to her husband, hmm? How can I?"
No one dared to speak, and that encouraged me to talk again, "I thought we're okay. You were so... You were so 'you' yesterday. If I just thought you'd wake up remembering me as a mere stranger, I should also have locked you in our room until forever ends." I exhaled heavily. "I know you came from a car accident, but I never thought you'd lose our memories."
"Guards, get her outside!" My mom instructed her toys and smiled devilishly. "Don't ever let her go back here again. Don't make me regret for paying you all." She flashed a secret grin for me to see, and for Neil not to notice.
"No, don't hurt her," Neil's voice boomed. As always he looked like a king ordering something in his entire kingdom. "Don't hurt a woman specially when she's crying, because that means she totally needs a shoulder to lean on." He flashed a manly smile at me. "Right, Miss?"
Before I could say 'thank you', my mother disagreed. She marched using her large steps to position herself in our front. "Don't you dare let her stay here for a long period of time! Seeing her ugly face makes my heart burn!"
"Mom, please don't be like that. I know from the very start that I am not enough for you to feel proud over me. But this is too much. You're meddling with my life. With my family!"
"So, what did you just say?" sarcastically, she inquired. "Have you forgotten your sins? Didn't you know that what I am doing right now is not enough for all the things you just stole from me?"
"L-let's..." I pleaded again, and a security tried to catch my arm, but Neil stopped him from doing so. "Mom, it was all a mistake! Please, forgive me. I am your daughter, aren't I? So, please, let's start over again. We'll create great memories--"
"Zipper that mouth of yours or else I'll make something to keep it shut permanently. Don't you really dare, Sydney. I am serious."
"You two are causing a scene here. Let's go inside my room and let's talk. You're making my head hurt." Neil lifted his shoes and beckoned us again using his come-inside-or-I-will-be-mad look. I was willing and excited to come inside his hospital room to make sure he had a comfortable place -- though I was sure he really had one since he carried a gold in his pocket.
"No. That woman will stay here!" my mom again but she had no choice but to surrender when Neil gave a warning look for the both of us. Rubbing my both palms to give myself a moral support, I marched and followed Neil's back, until we got inside his room.
The place was all white but being touched by a fine ambience. You would notice a lot of medical apparatuses and a cute table where different kinds of fruits were being placed.
"Don't steal something!" My mother warned me again. And by this time, I didn't mind her for I was focused at Neil, who's now manly sitting in his hospital bed while looking at me in confusion. I observed his physique. Regardless he's wearing a patient uniform, anybody could still noticed how broad his chest was. The muscles in his arms were also showing out. His brown eyes, perfect nose, and wet lips were all exquisite.
"Hmm, thank you for having me here," I started, but being cut off by my mother again.
"You won't stay here for too long, remember that. And in case you don't remember your sins, then let me count and elaborate all of them--"
"Mom," Neil mumbled. I got worried because he looked stressed out because of my mother. "I let her come here for I need talk to her. And at the same time, I know you two need to have a conversation as well."
After that, he rested his head in the headboard, his eyes attacking mine again as if he's reading my mind.
Mom and I were finally okay. She asked for my forgiveness even though I never loathed her. For all the bad things she had done to me, I still loved her. Nothing could change that fact."What is the name of this place once again, Mom?" Kyra asked curiously as she roamed her eyes around the place.A smile touched my lips. "Azucalda."We were safe to live not worrying about anything. Ambrosia's family were now settled in jail. Daniel, also, already found his life, the woman who would change the fake romantic love he felt towards me. "This is where we belong, Kyra. Be comfortable in this place, because starting from now, we will leave here, we will start new memories," I hugged her."When Dad will come back?" she asked me out of the blue. "I mean, we have been already waiting for years! Last night, Dad and I talked, but since this morning, he never texted me anymore. I am worrying, Mom! What if he alread
"If I could just turn back the time."I was used to say that statement to myself. Days and years without Sydney, I realized life was hard without her. Though I had no choice, I could not get her back because I had no right. I hurt her. I should face the consequences of my actions."Sydney has a daughter, Auntie. And she is now currently studying. She is an academic achiever," Marcus informed me. Marcus was one of my enemy before even though we were blood related, but as time gone by, we became close and decided to help each other."I have a granddaughter, then..." I whispered using my weak voice. That meant that Sydney was pregnant during the moments she was not in this country. That meant she lived without my guide. That meant she raised my grandaughter alone. "I have remembered what you told me before. You told me she has a business in this country, right?"He nodded. "She owns a grocery."&
We still lived in the same house, and I witnessed how they both loved each other. But I never liked that."Auntie Trinidad, I successfully closed the deal," Neil announced to me. To my delight, I smiled. "Thanks to Sydney, though. He pushed me to work hard."I heard a lot of news from work, especially from company employees. Because Sydney and Neil worked often at the same time... they also went home together so that caused surprise to others."I know they are both married," Marcus threatened me. This businessman had never really changed. Still ruthless. There was no sanctification. Even so, I still treated him well because we were just relatives. I know he was not gay to spread the word."Just do not let them know." I got up. I would have planned to build a boutique. Because since I was a child, that was really what I wanted to have. Now that Neil was taking care of the company, maybe
"Starting today, you are the only one I will love. Expect me to love you every day."I closed my eyes when Zimon, my husband, gently gave his tender kisses to me. To this day, I still could not believe it. We were married. We were officially legal. Our family welcomed us as well. Nothing could stop us from being together. We would also be able to form our dreams together, and one of them was having a child, or if possible ‘children’. We even wanted a girl to be our first child. But what the Lord gave us, we would wholeheartedly accept it."Zimon, here is your lunchbox. Please, do not stay up too late at work. I know you want to give us a very good future but we are already rich. I am not proud of our living condition, but I just hope you learn how to rest, okay?"That was really what I kelt reminding him of. Health was important so I wanted him to take care of himself. We would have a chi
How many times had I tried to love my child as much as many mothers like me love. But even so, I still could not bear to look at her without remembering what his Dad did to me and how he hurt me until I was exhausted.I could say that me giving her birth was the most important event in my life, but like I said, I could not... I could not afford to love her, because whenever I smiled at her, I felt like I just forgave her Dad right away. And for me, that shoul not have happened. No one could stop me...I did not know if my own child hated me. If she wanted to hate me until she voluntarily gave up, go on! I did not care. Even if it was bad in the eyes of others, I would do what I thought was good for me, for the comfort of my chest."Is the average yourself from studying? How dare you smile at me while you were showing this shit to me? How many times have I told you that this grade is not enough for me? You are stupid, really. I am still wondering why you ev
When we were at the venue, we looked around. Until the woman who invited us to be in here acknowledged us with a big smile. I immediately recognized her because of the sweetness of her smile. She talked to us and the other guests. I could say the event was really social and prepared for elites because you could just see from the guests' gowns that they were really expensive. Not to mention that Neil Sandoval was admired by many."Hi, there is still an empty table near the long table. Other guests also want to meet you. Because you know how much everyone admires you, Neil Sandoval," the woman praised him again.Neil was really grabbing attention now, not only because he was handsome in what he was wearing, but also because he looked like the girl he was holding so tightly. Just a look at them and you would know that they were blood related - the way they walked was similar.Anyway, he was no longer wearing jogging pants. Before we finally went here we also reserv
"Thank you, Sydney," said the one in front of me. Because of the bonfire, his eyes seemed to be on fire as well. You could even mirror yourself through those orbs. "I will be back. I will be back safe. I am not going to hurt myself."I knew. Because of Kyra, you would have even more reason to be safe forever. We both knew we could not afford to see Kyra struggling, so that was enough reason for both of us to make sure we were safe."Are you cold already? Do you want us to go inside?" he asked me."You? Do you want to?""Yeah, so that Kyra can lie down properly."I laughed and immediately stood up. We entered the house, and I helped him put Kyra to bed. Even though I was just helping, I could already feel the weight of my daughter."I'm leaving--"I stopped him."Just sleep here. It's okay with me."He was shocked. He looked at me with indescribable amazement in his eyes. "All right. But I will just sleep on the sofa so y
"You are really sweet, Dad! Mama must have sweetly answered you so you prepared all of these!" Kyra shouted happily at Neil. Neil, on the other hand, still looked serious, who also seemed to just chose to smile even though the truth was, just like me, he also felt a lot of embarrassment right now.Soon, the cold wind blew, and we all sat down to begin what had to begin."Kyra, darling, don't be surprised by what we are going to say but ..." Neil took a deep breath, and in the depth of it, I almost drowned. "I'm doing this for you, for your future and for your mommy's. I can't just be here forever and happy without worrying about of our business."Kyra fell silent. Her smile faded. She turned to me, and I averted my eyes. I had tears in my eyes now, and I did not want them to see me being emotional.Maybe it was just because I was so tired. Tomorrow, I would definitely okay again."Are you leaving?" My daughter's voice was full of fear. I also rarel
I almost kissed him. I meant, I almost kissed him! Marcus' appearance was really right so that Neil wouldn't think that only Azucalda would soften my heart and push me to kiss him. Goodness, I still had to control myself. It was not because I was happy with what he said that I would tolerate it. You were indeed a great fool, self."Oh, why did you two stop? Go on with what you were supposed to do and I will just quietly watch it." And as expected, Marcus never left us again. He would really use what he saw to make me die of nervousness. "It's a pity that Kyra did not see you almost kissing. I hope I was able to take a picture too!"Neil picked up some sand and threw it towards my cousin's face. I also wanted to keep laughing at him because his cheeks were red like a ripe tomato."Jerk! Get out of here! You have a business problem so prioritize that over messing with us here!" I told him. Really, right? His business was also in danger so that was what he should f
