"Don't worry I will let you see her one more time before I send her out of this world. So what is it going to be?" Siku asked through gritted teeth."Siku, your fight is with me so fight me and leave them alone. I wronged you right?" Ragnor said and moved away from the army with the instruction, "Defend yourself. If they attack you fight them," "Let your army fight me, if they kill me, you can have the city," Ragnor said and Siku nodded and moved back. Siku's army charged to fight Ragnor. They are immortals but they don't have the vampire speed even though Ragnor's blood brought them to life but they don't have his deadly weapons. Ragnor moved at the speed of light, using all his deadly weapons on them. He cut them with his wings using a spell to make them burn from within. Some he injected with creature-eating buds to destroy them. Even though they were dead and felt no pain, Ragnor's methods were destroying them. Siku's army numbered in millions and Ragnor needed to transform int
"Ragnor would take care of her. I am not leaving you again," Nyota said and hugged George. "We both did this together, and we will pay the price together," she said. George made room for Nyota on the sofa to lie down next to him. He managed to keep a straight face despite the pain he was going through trying to move. Nyota smiled and lay down in front of him in the space he had made and he wrapped his arms around her finding comfort in each other, as well as keeping each other warm. The cold wind blew in from the window, whose glass had been shattered by Ragnor on his way out. The whole room was a complete mess. Outside the palace and in the city, the inner wall they built remains intact but more than fifty per cent of the outer wall was damaged. Close to the outside wall, and scattered around, the inner wall, were the remains of the humans. That of the vampires had burned to ash. The humans and the vampires left alive moved all the bodies to one place and buried them next to each ot
"Maddox!" Nyota exclaimed and Andrew's eyes widened."Yes, it's me," Maddox replied."But where have you been?" questioned Nyota."Is the king around, is he okay?" Maddox asked feeling anxious."No. Why do you ask of the king?" Nyota questioned."I know what my daughter did. I wanted to warn the king but getting here, I realized I was too late," Maddox said in resignation."Yes, you are pretty late," came Andrews's voice "but we won against your daughter," he added and turned to leave."Well, we won but the king is not here because your daughter took the love of his life away," Nyota said and also left Maddox before he could reply. Maddox stood in the hallway. He turned and looked in both directions, Andrews and Nyota had exited through. He knew he made a terrible mistake with his daughter Siku. Today he has lost his family and no one to inherit him because he failed to pay attention to how his daughter was been raised. He knew he could find Siku easily; she was his daughter after all
"We are close. Tomorrow by noon we will find Siku and Clara," Maddox said as they walked through the town they had just entered for a place to rest for the night and continue the next day. They both walked into a guest house and Ragnor paid the bills for two rooms for the night. They were both led by one of the guest house staff to their rooms. It was a long hallway. Ragnor's room was first on the right upon entering the hallway and Maddox's room was at the end of the hallway also on the right."Enjoy your stay," the staff said to each one of them upon opening their rooms for them. Ragnor entered the room and scanned the environment. The bed was a double bed, not the usual king size he was used to. It had two bedside tables with a lamb sitting on one and a telephone on the other. The bathroom was to the left side of the bed and the wardrobe faced the bed from the foot of the bed. He moved towards the bed and sat on it, his mind drifted off to Clara and what situation she might be in.
Ragnor arrived with Clara at his mansion at noon. He landed on the balcony of his bedroom. He took Clara in and laid her on the bed. He returned to his human form and stepped out of the room. The first person he met was the butler."Master, you are back," the butler said surprised but Ragnor frowned, not responding to him and his gaze turned cold."Prepare some soup for Clara," Ragnor commanded and the butler acknowledged, bowing to him."Should I bring it to the room once it's ready?" the butler inquired."Yes," replied Ragnor and he returned to his room. When Ragnor entered the room, he heard Clara calling out to him. He rushed to her side and sat on the bed. He held her hand in his."Ragnor?" Clara called out to him again, her voice very weak and her eyes still closed."Hey, love, it's me Ragnor, I am here," Ragnor replied but he was met with her silence. Ragnor couldn't tell exactly what was wrong with Clara because her vitals were fine so why was she not waking up? First, guess,
Ragnor hugged Clara tightly, kissing the top of her head multiple times. Nyota sat in the living room looking at them."I was scared. I thought I lost you," Ragnor whispered to Clara."I was so terrified. I felt like I was never going to see you again and it scared me," Clara said, her head resting on his well-formed chest and her arms wrapped around him.Ragnor kept Clara in his embrace rubbing her back tenderly as they enjoyed each other's warmth. "I don't know what happened. All I remember was, that I was with Mum and I got thirsty. I drank the water on the table and started feeling funny. So, I decided to lie on the bed for a while," she said and moved her hand to her chest as if in pain. "Then I felt a sharp pain in my chest. It hurt really bad but I couldn't scream and the room became so dark. The pain stopped but I felt like I was dreaming. I couldn't find you," she said sounding so terrified."Ssshhhsss," Ragnor said. "It's okay, I am here now," he comforted her but was angry
"Thanks, son, I appreciate this a lot," George said at the other end of the call. They spoke for a while and made a few decisions on how to get the city to bounce back. The call eventually came to an end and Ragnor joined the ladies in the living room to watch the news. "The governor, in his reign has made an incredible achievement. He selected several medical doctors and had them trained on how to manage incurable diseases. These doctors have been distributed to various hospitals to assist the medical practitioners in managing such patients. This decision has helped reduce the mortality and families are now happy to have their loved ones cured of what was meant to be their end," said the reporter."I have with me here today one of the patients who was diagnosed with an incurable disease. Today she is looking perfectly fine after being attended to by these newly trained medical personnel. Let's hear what she has to say," said the reporter."I was told by the doctor that I have a few d
She stood up and wanted to return to the bedroom but started feeling dizzy again so she sat back down. "Are you alright?" Maddox asked Siku."I am fine," Siku replied angrily and went back inside. Maddox shook his head in resignation and ate the steak on his plate. Siku decided to lay on the bed for a while but she started feeling nauseous. She got up and quickly ran into the washroom to throw up. "What is happening to me?" Siku thought and threw up some more. Her father, Maddox, entered the room and heard her throwing up. He frowned and entered the bathroom. "My dearest daughter, you are dying," Maddox said."What, what do you mean I am dying?" Siku questioned. "There is a spell on you and it's acting now. I can smell it," Maddox replied. "That is what happens when you play with things you are not supposed to," he added. Siku staggered out of the bathroom and went to lie on the bed. Maddox watched Siku as she suffered."Ragnor did this to me," Siku said while lying on the bed f
