Chapter 126: My people's safety comes first

"Once they were in Matara, he would have to figure out a way to leave her behind and return to the palace," Ragnor thought and dropped more kisses on the top of Clara's head.

Ragnor was sitting on the bed with his back resting on the headboard. In his arms, he was holding Clara who had curled herself up like a kitten. He stroked her back tenderly lost in his thought.

Feeling safe in his arms, Clara's breathing became even and she drifted off to sleep out of exhaustion.

"A war might be upon us soon and yet my people are unaware of anything," Ragnor thought, "If my blood ran through Siku's new army, clearly the soldiers here would be no match for them, they would only slow them down," he continued in his thoughts.

Ragnor's gaze shifted to Clara who moved slightly and nestled into his arms.

"She would endanger herself to protect him when that day comes upon them," Ragnor thought, playing with a strand of Clara's hair.
