"The butler would have known if there was another vampire in the apartment. His silence could mean he is either helping Siku or he doesn't know she is there. You need to be careful. I am sure Siku and Jessica are in communication," George added. "Siku hiding in my own house? That was a clever move as you rightly said but it was also stupid. It's like the prey hiding in the lion's den to avoid the lion," Ragnor said and laughed. "I will fish out the intruder tonight and anyone involved will equally not be spared," Ragnor added. "Tread cautiously my son. If you ask me, I will suggest you don't go to your apartment in San Francisco. Her only reason for being there is to pick some information," George suggested. "Don't worry Dad. I know a perfect way to handle this," Ragnor said. "Thanks, Dad, I will take my leave now," he added. "You know you are overprotective?" George pointed out. "In what way?" Ragnor asked stopping in his truck. "We have been in this room for an hour and a ha
Ragnor returned to his bedroom and broke down in tears. He had done the unthinkable. His mind was satisfied but his heart shattered. He never wanted his dark side to take over him. He decided not to take Siku's life but decided to permanently make her a mockery of both species, humans and vampires. When it comes to beauty, Siku was the epitome of it. Her features, skin and curves were just exclusively perfect. Anytime she passed by, she always had heads turning except for Ragnor who will not even spare her a glance. A part of Ragnor regrets what he has done yet a part of him felt it was the best justice for Clara and his innocent child whom he never got to meet because of Siku. Ragnor recalled memories of himself and Siku growing up. He was the reserved type but he did enjoy Siku's company until she decided she wanted him as her husband. That was when Siku's ambition kicked in. The love for power took the better of her and Ragnor became the target to achieve her goals. Siku could hav
In the past, when she had terrible dreams like that, Ragnor would always wake her from the dream but this time, that did not happen. She collapsed on the bed; she wanted Ragnor back home. Only in his arms did she feel the comfort she wanted. Clara stayed in the room sitting on the floor resting her back on the footboard. A gentle knock on the door snapped her out of her thoughts. "Please come in," Clara replied looking alive. The door opened slowly and Clara waited to see who it was, Ragnor's father or mum, she knew it wasn't Emily as she would have announced her presence long ago. Clara first saw a hairy foot entering the room. Looking at what she could see of the leg, it did look like a lion. She got up from the floor looking at the door to see who or what would enter as she took steps back trembling. She screamed upon seeing what entered the room. It was the mystical bird, a griffin and it hissed at her standing on two legs with its wings behind. It did look furious. Clara conti
"It's Ragnor," George said to Nyota and they both entered the living room from the balcony. In less than five minutes, Ragnor was standing in the living room still with his wings behind him which he had folded into an arc. Clara ran into his arms upon seeing him. The anger in Ragnor's eyes vanished seeing Clara was alright. His wings vanished and he wrapped his arms around her in an embrace as he returned to his full human form. "Glad you are back but where did you go?" Clara asked and pulled away from the hug to look at his face. "I went to San Francisco," Ragnor replied honestly. "Okay, you went to check how things are?" Clara said as they walked towards one of the sofas in the living room. Nyota and George, who were already comfortably seated, waited to hear Ragnor's reply to Clara's question. They already had a hit of what he went to do in San Francisco. They were, however, trying to see how open Ragnor was to his human wife. "Siku was hiding there," Ragnor replied hones
"No matter what, Ragnor would not come here. It is his human wife that can get him here but she would not listen to me any more," Siku complained."Use the ring," the redcap goblin said and left.Siku felt a new power run through her body and for some reason, she knew exactly how to summon Ragnor to the ruined castle. She smiled. In the immortal City, the seats of the king and queen have been empty during multiple gatherings. The news of the queen's mother's death had already spread throughout the town. Although it's just a rumour with no confirmation, no one wants to be on the bad side of the Ragnor because they heard what the queen and her mother did and the reason, they are no longer in the Palace. The palace was left to be run by Maddox and the few council elders. The vampire lords have decided to watch for now as they have already sniffed the upcoming war in the air. They have come to confirm that Ragnor is the recantation of the vampire they tried to get rid of hence their decis
Maddox set a meeting for Ragnor to meet with the council of elders the next day at noon. The council members requested a meeting alone with just Ragnor. "It was a perfect time to engage Clara," Maddox thought as he made the necessary arrangements for the meeting. It was 8 in the morning, the palace balcony, Ragnor stood facing the direction of the rising sun. The ray of the rising sun made him look like he was glowing from behind. "Update," Ragnor requested not bothering to turn and confirm who had entered the balcony. "The meeting with the council of elders is set for 11 a.m. today my king," Maddox quickly announced at his command. "Purpose?" Ragnor requested still with his back facing Maddox. "Selection of a new queen and.....and...." Maddox hesitated. "And what?" Ragnor questioned, turning to look at Maddox with a cold gaze. "If you will stay with your people," Maddox replied hesitantly. "If I still want to remain your king, you would prefer I stay here in the palace?"
Meanwhile, Siku had carried the stone stained with his blood into the castle and the creature took it and dropped it into stagnant water and started chanting. The water began to glow."Bring your hand," said the redcap goblin.Siku gave the globin her hand and the globin cut her thumb and made the blood drip into the glowing water. The water which was glowing immediately stopped glowing and turned blood red. "Now watch," the redcap goblin said to Siku and she watched with keen attention. The liquid started flowing out of the pothole, down the floor of the castle in a particular direction. Siku watched with curiosity what would happen. There was a part of the castle with so much debris and broken stuff. That part of the castle looks like it used to be a big hall that could accommodate over three thousand people. The blood liquid went under the debris and it was absorbed by the earth. Nothing happened for twenty minutes and Siku was wondering what she was supposed to expect with her blo
Clara wrapped her hand around him as she rested her head on his chest biting her lower lip to prevent herself from crying some more.Ragnor strokes her back tenderly.Clara was finally calm and they both sat down on the roof. Ragnor wrapped his arms around Clara and she nestled into his arms. Ragnor continued to tenderly stroke Clara's arms. It was getting dark and the stars had appeared in the skies. The sky looked beautiful. He looked at the beautiful heavens with no expression but inwardly he was worried about Clara. She is easily deceived and to date, she has still not realized Jessica has changed. Clara still sees Jessica as her good old friend. While Ragnor was worried about Clara's naive behaviour, Clara was lost in her thoughts too. She did acknowledge to herself she acted a little childish blackmailing Ragnor like that. The thought; what if Ragnor had died on that journey made Clara quiver and she tightened her grip around him and shut her eyes to push the thoughts away. Ragn
