The wine glass in Elena’s hands fell to the floor when she heard that. A loud crash could be heard as it shattered upon impact.

Slowly coming back to her senses, Elena looked at Maia and signed, “How clumsy of me. The wine glass slipped from my hand.” In an attempt to mask her panic, she bent down to pick up the shattered pieces.

Maia squinted at Elena’s unusual reaction. She took a few steps forward and stopped Elena, “Leave it. You might cut your hand. You can ask the servants to clean up later.”

“It’ll be fine, Maia.” Elena picked up the pieces of glass and threw them into the trash can at the side, “You don’t come here often and yet I broke a wine glass in front of you. I hope you won’t tell Errol about this. He loved it.”
