The door of the cage flung open and a man, of average height with broad shoulders walked up to me and grabbed my arm. Sometimes I wonder how fragile I am cause in their arms I feel weightless. I held Luna with my other hand trying to stay strong as he led me out of the cage.

I'm ready for anything this is going to bring to me. I was in an helpless situations under his hold with the hilt of his sword right beneath my throat, I can't take chances. Trying anything silly would only endanger my throat if not my life. I just knew no matter how fierce this war might look, it isn't going to last too long. One party will have to surrender. Imagine being in the situation where you know what to do but you can't do it because you're scared of what the consequences may be. I should ask for a negotiation straight up but..."You do not fight a war with war and you do not fight a demon with it's weapon, else you become the demon yourself." Sylvia once told me. In her own view, She became the demon herself when she allowed her mother die instead of her. She could have just saved them both but she paid hatred with hatred. Just like staring too long into the abyss and the abyss staring back at you.Hmm, i've got to be wise. Negotiation, it is. Let's hear what they have to say."Negotiation, what is it about?" I can't stop questio

**Katrienair's POV**“Oh, it's been a long day.” I said as I was brought into my own chamber by a maid. No it's not a long day, it's a big day. Back there in that cage, I never thought I'll be here. Like I'll be an army in this territory that have threatened to kill me so many times. Well I still do not trust them. Not after I've been appointed the crown prince as assistant. Everything about today looks like an illusion to me. I, Katty, now wearing an head of army coat. And my new name, Claudia. It's engraved on a golden pin on my coat. I pulled it of and glared at my image on the mirror. My hair's looking longer, still golden, dirty gold anyway. My eye brows were saggy (I'm tired) but I'm still that beautiful girl I know or rather beautiful woman. But this whole thing is still a shock to me anyway. More ridiculously, I saw Joel yet again. Well, he isn't Joel, he was introduced as prince Jullian. He's my assistant but why does he look so much like my

Joel locked the door of my chamber and joined me on the couch. He hasn't said a word since he came in, just a feint smile. I was still caressing my calf with my palms unconsciously.“Stop touching that like it's a forbidden tattoo. You weren't forced to take it anyway. ” he smirked. “you are one of us now nothing can change that .”Now he's behaving like he's really the prince, the thought of that made my stomach churn. I managed to sit at the far end of the couch, on its arm.“Hei, don't play games okay?” I said. “I'm dead serious” that was true. “ how did you get here? What are you doing here? What are you even saying Joel?”I haven't been convinced that he's Julian. Well, I'm just following my heart. He chuckled staring intently into my eyes. “you didn't change. I knew you can never. ” he paused. I was seething and he noticed it. “Must I answer all of them now. Can't y

I was resting on his chest, my damp hair soaking his shirt. Tears dripped from my eyes. His story, how touching. I have loved ones by my side but I'm scared. Scared that something would go wrong and I won't be able to handle it.“why are you crying Ms?” he asked stroking my hair gently.“ I don't know.” I wiped off the tears. We were silent and I became conscious of where I was. I was leaning on him, I felt safe like I never wanted to leave.“I've missed you so much Katrienair.”He's never called me Katty and I love the way he calls "Katrienair" anyway.“ you are not supposed to miss me that much.” I teased.“but I do.” he smiled. “don't you?”I miss you more than you can ever imagine but you don't deserve to know, right?“i don't know.” I said.“we weren't close friends. You were just a part of my life on earth. One that can be easily forgotten.” I

**Emiliar's Pov**When I got to my room that night I saw Julian sitting on the couch, lost in his thoughts. I should be angry with him.. Or maybe I shouldn't. His private life isn't my business is it? But Katrienair is involved then it is. She just arrived and he's already making advances at her. Who does that?! Little wonder, he's really and truly a demon prince.“ What you doing here, Mister? ”I snapped him out of whatever trance he's been lost in.“ Where are you coming from? ” he demanded. So he's been pondering on where I've been, I doubt that. Who does he think I am, a weakling?“Is that why you're here? ”I “I dropped a note for Christ's sake! You needed no worry”“I wasn't worried. ” he smirked. “why should I anyway? But how did you get the door open? ”A chuckle escaped from my lips. I never knew Julian could ask such a dumb questio

**Katrienair's POV** As I sat at the table to read, I pondered on how my life has been. Like a soap opera, it's been too incredible to be true. It's my first day as an army of this kingdom, this world rather. How do I feel? My feelings is blank. Still unsure about some things. Questions like :Am I doing the right thing? Is this my destiny? The man in green light once told me that we choose our destiny, I'm scared my choice have made a wrong destiny for me. It's okay to be scared, isn't it? Our lives can't be perfect and mine doesnt have to be. I'm reading cause i need to know the people I'm fighting before starting a fight. I was close to the end of the book when I heard a voice over my head. “Good job Katrienair. ” it was a familiar voice. “Joel? ” I gasped. “you scared me” His face darkened. What again? My subconscious questioned. “Julian or your Majes

"Shut up you punk!" a guard yelled. "Did you not ?! Did you not barge into the kings property uninvited?!" "All i wanted was a chance!" he yelled back, his pleading eyes facing me." All i wanted was a chance to join the legion!" I was impressed by his guts. A slave wants to be a legion member, he's definitely not a demon, a slave anyways. "The training ground is only for the invited and the qualified." came a gruff voice. A warrior stepped into the circle, looking ageless, broad and stock with a bald head and long beard and a scar looking like a tatoo below his right eye. He looked like he's been a professional soldier all his life. He bent a little on seeing me. The young by looked like

Kabal, Kabal, that's he's name. Now, I can't see through his mind. I don't know exactly why but I feel like I should watch him at least throughout today's training.***Kabal sat at the wooden table working away with the bow and arrow laid in pieces. Beside him, Dalaine, his new patner alongside with other new recruits of the legion sat. They were all hunched over their weapons, hard at working on carving the bows and tightening the strings. According to their trainer, “a warrior who knows how to strng his bow is sure of a good fight. Your sting determines whether your arrow wouldh hit its target or not. Weapons break in battle, break on jouney, you must know how to repair them within a inch of a second. The greatest warrior is the greatest blacksmith, cobbler, carpenter, mender of all broken things"The trainer, a young knight, walked through the rows of boys, leaning over, examining each one's work. " If you can't repair your weapon, you ar

"Deal?"Roger asked."The men would have to fight fist then."Alistair replied.Julian stepped out, Raleigh also. To Julian, the fight was for a different cause. Raleigh had tried to poison him the night before, he hadn't exposed him because he knew deep down that it would be nicer if kept it for another day. The day came rather too quickly. Raleigh also was eager, with Julian out of the way, his plan would go out just well and he'll have the whole demonic territory to himself, probably the whole world."I've always waited for this day"Raleigh muttered, am evil grin on his face."Then go on." Julian's expression was rather bland. The two charged at each other. Julian held his lance to a perfect aim while dodging Raleigh's spear. I never expected the fight to be so short and easy. The spear caught Raleigh right in his chest, below his heart though. That could not make him die but at it he got weak. Julian walked over his body and brought his spear down to his heart. Bloo

"You will rot in hell!"He yelled and turned to leave. Alistair stopped him."Who deserves to rot in hell Roger?"She spoke into the conch. "You have just one day to make a choice. It's either you come down here to surrender to us or we break into your walls."Roger laughed, sounded like it rooted from some bottled forces in his chest. "You that kid! Let's see who lasts one day."He walked away.I faced Alistair. She just made the wrong decision. Giving Roger even a second can change the way things are going."You know Roger would never surrender to us.""I don't intend to keep him either"Alistair said. "Even if he surrenders, I won't let that devil live, never. It's better to catch the devil unawares. We are going in now."I smiled. Alistair's smart. I guess you have to be a demon to fight a demon. I'm proud of her."So, how do we get in?"I asked. "The soldiers can't climb. They won't be caught unawares then."Alistair nudged me by my side. "You

"Next, little bit of rain."Alistair said on getting towards the castle, then the rain began. This time, chilly waters dropped. We saw that the walls have been shut tightly with everything Roger possessed. It's the first time in Roger's history, he got suddenly scared of war. It isn't a war anymore or is it?"We're not burning down the castle. Let's go back."I only followed her command. We turned back, going back to our comrades. Looking over the wretch we've created, I could not help but feel pity. I, Katrienair, that weird kid in school, had a part in these. It's unimaginable. I've really grown up and things have really changed. I remembered Arkishair and muttered a little prayer for her. Alistair noticed, her next words proved it."She'll be proud of you.""And you too."Alistair shook her head. "I don't think she would remember."We got to the spot the white coven's army stood, they was massive celebration in the air. They were rejoicing because our

The number of Roger's troop seemed limitless and no matter how many we killed, it seemed futile. For every hundred that was killed, two hundred appeared. All the while the horizon continued to flood with them, row after row, division after division, crammed up like a million worker ants. They were able to stop the fire, they pushed off the flaming soldiers away an took up new positions. The death of several thousands of their men didn't even put a dent on their forces.Yet at our side, every death made an impact, though we didn't have many. That kept my hope alive. We were already far away from the hill where the war started. Our army was still very much in the spirit. I was proud, they had sustained injuries but that didn't stop them. The key was just the best. It was killing four men at a time. I swinged it around while moving and ducking at the same time. At the corner of my eye, I heard a scream. I had less time to linger on that sight because I was being attacked from ever

I stood on the top of one of the hills of the northern province of the demons territory, my comrades by my side. The demons' soldiers were already on the horizon. We planned to go meet them at the castle but the sudden change of event didn't matter anyway. All around, men were busy preparing their weapons. Archers took positions, thousands of them, arrows and bows also ready. If they want it on this hill, so be it. Thousands of more men took positions with Spears, young legion members with slings. Thousands of men beneath the hill had swords and Shields and every weapon imaginable. Israel was giving commands, with Alistair, looking stronger by my side. I felt optimistic. This is the war I've lived for. With the Key wounded in my hands, I already knew what the results of the war would be. It would be a hard one though.I looked again over the horizon and reminded myself of what was coming. The demons has never been defeated on any battle. I forced myself to believe that this ti

There was a feast at the castle. The usual kind of feast Roger has whenever a big war is coming. Julian was in his chamber with kabal, teaching him the things he needed to know, when a guard informed him about the feast and that the king asks that he must be there. Kabal had mix feelings about it but he could not stop his master from attending the feast. Julian instructed him to turn off the lights and go to bed but Kabal could not. He felt something was off. Maybe something really was off. He left the chamber, though late, he had lost sight of Julian. He walked round the castle, searching for the exact place the feast was holding but didn't find it. It's a private feast so it wasn't taken at the assembly hall. Frustrated, he retraced his steps back to the chamber. He was stopped by whisperings from a room, the royal kitchen. His curiosity led on and he decided to have a peek through the half closed window. He saw Raleigh conversing with the head nurse. He had to strain hi

Sylvia curtsied on seeing Israel walk into her apartment. She had stayed in, brooding since their last talk."Sylvia, how are you doing?"Isreal took a seat on the couch."I'm okay Milord."She answered."You told the head of maids you weren't."Israel haf asked of her from the head maid since he didn't see her thought-out his preparations for Karen and her company.Sylvia muttered an apology."Have you remembered?"He asked. Sylvia gave a solemn nod."Then I have no choice" Israel said. "We have a big war tomorrow. The chosen one and her comrades have arrived. You need your memory because you would be at war tomorrow and you need to remember your fighting skill at least. I can't leave you here in he castle. It's not safe. I decided to go check up on Alistair. Ethan was exiting the room when I walked in. I saw Alistair on her bed, head buried in her pillow. I got curious. What happened here?"Alistair." I joined her. "Hei, it's me."I removed the pillow from her head. I saw her relax. She opened a drawer and gave me a photoframe. I was stunned. There was a couple in it. They looked very young and beautiful. The young woman had long curly golden hair, her green eyes stood out in the picture. The young man was like the most handsome being I've ever seen, I had to remind myself it's just a picture. He had flashy blue eyes and perfect black hair."Our parents. You never met them but..."I was so shocked on hearing this that for a moment I doubted my ears."What did you say?""That's mom and dad. You know them now."She yawned."Oh my...they are stunning. " Is that Alistair, the first princess of the white coven." Israel shrieked on seeing us. Even his guards, wore a surprised look. I took a glance at Alistair. Well, her expression was bland but I could tell she wasn't enjoying the publicity.Isreal walked up to us as we dismounted from our horse. He bowed to Alistair. She only nodded."Oh my goodness Milady, we all thought you were dead.""I am."Alistair finally spoke. "I mean, for now. You and your guards should keep this as a secret for now. I'm not ready to reveal myself to the public, okay?""Okay, Milady"Wow, Alistair's perfect!*We walked along the aisle, Israel leading the way. He looked less frigid than he was the last time. He was happy, though when he asked for the chosen one, I said I had no idea. He was surprised I could lift the key, I guess that shut him up. He said he had prepared a table for us but we insisted we needed to rest. It's no good time for eating, is it?He
