Chapter 9

The next day, Shantala woke up without Hyperion in the mansion again. It was actually a relief for her because if she had seen his face, her day would have been ruined in no time. She was still mad at him for looking into her phone and for teasing her afterwards. He even had the guts to sleep so well that night.

After getting all dressed up, she headed back to the Evening City Garden Club and met with her boss for another request.

"I'm sorry, Shantala, but I do not keep guns and bombs and whatever you are looking for. Owning those kinds of things is illegal for a person like me. But I know someone who does," her boss said before returning to counting her money.

She did not want to go to Maldives unprepared, especially since she had a strong feeling that Hyperion was planning something. Whatever traps he set up for her, she would fight so she needed some weapons.

Her boss smirked and, as prying as she could be, she leaned forward while chewing her gum.
