GOOD NIGHT LENA

Home sweet home, I’m home and I haven’t answered Lena’s messages, all of them. Today is a big day for me. I finally got a job as a writer in Purple magazine and today is my first day at work. Stirring and scrunching my face in dismay, I squinted and rolled over towards the sound of my phone, it was Alaia. Propping myself up on my elbows whilst lying on my bed I unplugged my charger from the phone and answer Alaia’s calls before slumping forward and face-planting my pillow.

“Hey, Girl… Good luck for today!” Alaia says.                                                                               

“Awww thanks, honey! Please pray for me, hope I’m not ruining my day today” I say as I heavily sigh and chuckle.

“You would never bitch! Good luck” Alaia replies.

“Thanks, Al…” A sweet smile comes through my face as I hang up the phone.

“I  fucking hate morning!” I mumble as I throw the phone to the bedside.

My phone rings once again, I reach over my phone at the bedside

“Uggghhhh shit!” I groan as I pick the phone up once more.

“Hey wake up, it’s your day!” Ben says.                            

“I knew Ben...” I say as I heavily sigh.

“I’ll be there in 30 minutes to take princess work!” He says as he hangs up the phone.

Staring at the phone screen, my mouth corner was forming into a small but sweet smile; “You can make it Maia, nailed it!” I say. “Ughhhh…” I sigh as I look at the time at the top of my phone screen. It’s 06:00 AM. I need to get up as I had something to do today. “Nailed it, Maia, Nailed it” I softly say with a smile before closing my eyes briefly and swinging my legs off the bed.

I slowly made my way to the bathroom but my mind keeps thinking about Lena. I turn the shower on and allow it to warm. Hot soapy water ran down my back and disappeared down the drain, I rinse through my hair once more before getting out of the shower.

Walking over to the sink and setting my toothbrush then applying the toothpaste, my mind keeps going to the night when Lena and I make out. That was amazing, I keep thinking of her as she spells on me. I prepare myself and wait for Ben.

“Here we are!” Ben says as he opens the car’s door. I look up at the pizza box in front of me “Really?  A pizza” I state with annoyance and a slightly raised brow. “Hey, it’s your day!” Ben says.

I look at my phone screen and sigh. “Isn’t it barely 07:30 AM? Kinda early for pizza don’t you think?” I say as I roll my eyes. “I know but trust me you’ll like it!” He says. I inhale in a slow breath and sigh “Okay Ben like you wish” I say blankly. Ben drives me to work before he went to his office.

I sit next to Ben as he holds my hand. We’ve only been together two years and to be honest, I have no idea why I stay with him. It probably has something to do with the pressure of my parents and wanting me to settle down and have a nice family.

I mean a part of me wants that but another part of me wants something or someone more. The smell of the pizza wafts through the air. “Baby, what’s wrong?” Ben says. “Nothing…” I answer back a little harshly and annoyed. “Come on Maia, you love pizza...” He says.

“It’s not about the pizza, it’s about me!” I say. He stares at me a little disappointed but gives me a pouty lip and removed his arms. “You’ve been acting so annoyed and distant lately!” He says as he reaches over my hand. I move my hands away and shrug “I’m good” I say.

“Come talk to me” He stares at me a little hurt but looks away. I look at him and see the sadness in his eyes and sigh “Sorry Ben, I don’t know what’s wrong lately. I’ve just been moody and kinda sad… maybe my monthly period will be here soon” I say.

He looks back at me but with a new look of disgust “Ew! Gross!” He says. I look at him in disgust “What!? Why do you guys think that period is so gross? They’re natural human body functions that women go through” I state with annoyance.

His expression hasn’t left his face and I just roll my eyes and rest my chin in the palm of my hands. We sit in silence and we arrived at my office at 08:00 AM. “Bye babe, see you later” Ben kisses my cheek. “Bye, babe…” I say as I close the car’s door.

Here we are… new day new dramas. You know, one of the main reasons that I live 50 miles from civilization is because I’m allergic to other people’s dramas. But in fact, I love drama. I sit in my workspace, a closed table, like an office desk in general.

Someone was coming, I felt the last of cold coffee slip on my throat and I couldn’t get Lena’s deep sexy voice out of my head. ”Is it a little cold for a cold coffee in the morning?” She says. “Maybe it was, but they’re my favorite drink...” I say.

I move my sight to the person who was talking to me, without realizing it was Lena. “Holly shit!” I say deep inside. “So you are the newbie, Maia” Lena stares at me and leans herself on my workspace wall. “Yes…” I say as I choke with my saliva.

“Here’s your work. I’m your boss” Lena says as she put a lot of paper on my desk. “Come to my room after you finish your work!” Lena says as she left. "Fiuhhhh… " I heavily sigh and stare at the ceiling. What the fuck just happen to my life.

I feel slightly awkward about someone who I ever had sex with being my boss now. I tried to keep the focus on her arm’s tattoos rather than her biceps. “Hey, newbie… do your job or you got fired tomorrow”

A girl just talk to me, she has green eyes with ginger short hair. I could hear the underlying tone of annoyance in her voice. I silently thanked her for deterring my brain from Lena. “Hey Sorry, I’m new here, I just need a little bit of adaptation...” I say. “I see, I’m Riley by the way!” She says. “Maia, nice to meet you, Riley…” I say as I shake her hand.

It was lunchtime; my new friend Riley and I went to the cafe near our office. We ordered chicken burgers and orange juices. “How long have you been working here Riley?” I say. “A couple of months, I guess!” Riley says as she chews the burger. “Mmm… alright then…” I say as I chew the burger.

With her serious face, Riley whispered to me “Don’t ever mess with the boss, I heard she’s a weird lesbian and she likes to fire people if they didn’t want to have sex with her” Riley says. “Why are you whispering to me like that?” I say in a low voice.

“Wall can hear!” Riley says. I nodded and eat my food. “I like girls too but fired people because they don’t want to make out with me, that’s awful!” Riley says as she chews the chicken burger. “So, you’re lesbian?” I say as I raise my brow.

“Yes, I am...” Riley says as she highly raises an eyebrow and chuckles. "Ah, I see!" I say. Riley and I are back in the office, she's busy with her job. Meanwhile, I don’t even know where to start. I got a lot of surprises on my first day.

The office phone rings and that’s freaking me out. I hang up the phone in dismay. “Purple magazine here” I say. “Do you miss me?” The man says. “Sorry sir, I don’t know what you are talking about!” I say. “It’s me, Ben!” He says as he chuckles. “What the hell Ben, why did you call my office phone!” I whispered on the phone in anger.

“I just want to know how your day was, you don’t even reply to my messages!” Ben says. “I’m sorry I was busy, I’ll hang up the phone now!” I say. “Okay okay! I love you” Ben says. “Me too…” I say as I hang up the phone.

“Maia, what are you doing?” Riley says. “Tried to figure out my job...” I say as I put the phone back in place. “The boss lady asked you to come to her office right now. Do you mess her?” Riley says.

“I’m not Riley I swear!” I say in whispers. I walk to the office and get into the office “So, how was your first day at work Maia?” Lena says as she looks at me and holds my resume. I mentally slapped myself due to the fact that she is obviously teasing me. My cheeks were rosy with embarrassment and her eyes keep looking at me.

A smirk played across her pink lips as she asked. “I could as you the same thing, now it was my turn to blush...” Lena says as she traveled her eyes to my whole body from top to bottom. “I heard something about you! If you want to fire me now, do it. Please don’t make my day harder” I say as I highly raise my voice in dismay.

“Relax…” Lena says as she put my resume on the table. “I tried to be good, what happens to your phone? Why you didn’t answer my messages” Lena says as she raises an eyebrow. “I leave my phone… I tried” I say.

“Really” Lena says as she gets closer to me. I could see amusement make an appearance on her face as she gently ran her soft hand against the back of my thigh. “Oh…you mean…” She trailed off as her hand got closer to my ass-goosebumps moved across my entire body “This phone..?” She chirps as she grabs my phone out of my pocket. Her sexy smirk was accompanied by a raise of her eyebrow and a cheeky laugh. I chuckle and nodded in approval of her move. Why does she have this effect on me… I left her office and run to the bathroom.

“What the hell is just happening to me?” I say as I look at myself in the mirror. I leave the bathroom and back to my desk. “What happened to you, Maia?” Riley asks me curiously.

“Nothing happens, Riley!” I say as I lean onto the seat. Lena is out of her office, she stares at me on her way and wink. “It's time to go home, Maia. You don’t wanna sleep here right? They won’t pay you for that!” Riley says as she obviously mocks me. I tidy up the papers on my desk and got ready to go home. I walk to the parking lot and wait for the Uber.

“Bep...Bep...” The car horn sounds; I stand at the crosswalk and wait for the Uber to come. “Hey…get in! I’ll drive you home” Lena says as she opens the windshield. “Thanks, I’m good!” I say as I smile and look away. “Ah come on!” She highly raises her voice.

“Alright…alright…” I say. I get into the car and we sit in silence. “You’re hungry?” Lena says as she stares at me. “I’m not but thanks” I answer her briefly. “Well…So…Can I drive you to work tomorrow considering my apartment is only 5 blocks from yours?” Lena says.

“Thanks, Lena, but my boyfriend drives me to work always!” I say. I could see Lena’s upset face as she drives the car. “Can I take you out sometimes?” Lena says. “Sure…” I say. I could see her rosy cheek when I said the agreement. “Okay, here we are” Lena turn off the car.

“Thanks for the drives, Lena!” I say. Lena is about to leave but I call her and wave my hand. “Hey!” I say. “Yeah...?” Lena says as she opens the windshield. “Would you like to stay for a moment for dinner?” I say in a low voice. “Sure...” Lena says as she raises an eyebrow and smiles.

Lena and I eat the roasted chicken for dinner. I cooked her tonight. She’s a good-looking woman and I kinda like her, my eyes traveled down her slim body. I saw a pleasing reaction flow on her face. “Wow what a delicious chicken!” Lena says. “Seriously?” I say as I raise an eyebrow.

“Yeas… My girlfriend never cooked me delicious food like this” Lena says as she chews the food. “So you have a girlfriend?” I say with a slight grief in my voice. “Yeappp… I have a girlfriend named Sasha” Lena says.

Disappointed but not surprised, how can someone hot like Lena could be single, I’m so fucking stupid. The rains suddenly come “Shit…!” Lena says as she stares out the window. “What happened?” I say. “It’s Raining cats and dogs...” Lena says as she heavily sighs.

“Well…I thought you need to sleep over here and back before sunrise” I say as I stare at the window and sigh. I take Lena to my bedroom and let her sleep on my bed. “Here are my clothes, you can wear this for sleep!” I say as I give the clothes to her. “Thanks...” Lena says as she takes the clothes from me. She undoes her clothes in front of me.

“Hey… hey… I have a bathroom there, you can take off your clothes over there” I say as I remove my sight from her. “Why? I traveled you around?” Lena says as she stares at me and chuckles. “No, I mean… Ughh… Never mind” I say as I roll my eyes and sigh. Lena wears the clothes and lay down next to me, she scrolls her phone and I can't take my eyes off her. “Why are you looking at me?” Lena says. ”Am I looking at you?” I say.

“Yes…” Lena chuckles as she points her eyes to mine. “I don’t know what happened to me Lena, I think I like you!” I say. “I like you too Maia, seriously...” Lena says as she stares at my lips.

“Wow…Jeez!” I say as I remove my sight from her and reach over my phone. I’m so sleepy, my first day was hard. Lena was still busy with her phone and I tried to sleep. Lena moves and faces me; then she kisses me. “Good night, Lena!” I say. Lena stroked my hair gently “Good night Maia” Lena says as she kisses my cheek to the forehead and my back softly then we sleep.
