On the quiet suburbs of Willow Creek, a different kind of gathering is taking place. The massive modern house of the Landry family was filled with peculiar characters. No food was found but there were many people. Men and women aimlessly dance to the music playing, a live band was singing jazz while guests feast on their prey.
Fleur stood in the middle of the room looking at everyone with distaste. She did not want to come here to this small town, she just wants to live a normal life. In reality, this is what normal is for her kind. Lavish parties, booze, and drugs. She doesn't even know why they bother when the blood of the people they lured here is more than enough to give them the high that they need. But her family, they are formidable the Landry clan headed by her father Damas has wanted power and wealth all their lives. It's not as if living for 120 years is not enough to make them filthy rich, her father wanted more and he has set his eyes on the Vlad family the powerful immortal clan that hailed from Romania. They are known to be vicious, powerful and their family has been members of the council. They are the pride of the immortal clans because they were the ones who led the battles against Lycans and werewolves and they never stop, they have been ravaging different cities and towns all over the world to create territories and drive away if not persecute all Lycans and werewolves remaining. They are on to their quest to not only make the filthy wolves extinct but they want to make vampires vow down to them, they are the superior race, after all, they can procreate and we are undying, thus their name and they are faster, stronger, and smarter, but all this does not interest her.
Technically she's 17 in the human world but she has been alive for 85 years. They age at a very slow rate and at the age of 25 to 35 they stop aging that's what makes it challenging for them. They need to move from town to town so people will not get suspicious of them, but moving here is the end game for her father and the Vlads, this is a town small enough that with our numbers they can control everyone and maybe become a place where they can settle down. However, this place ironically is also a stronghold of the strongest tribe of Lycans as told by their elders. Fleur is tired of running away every time she finds a place that she loves, as a child, she would always be dragged around from one place to another and she doesn't want to go to war anymore.
She's had her fair share of battles, her family has been bestowed by gifts other than being an immortal that already entails unnatural, speed, agility, and power. She has the power to stop time and that has been very beneficial in the wars that they have conquered. They were able to take a hold of New Orleans because of her ability. They were formerly held by a group of vampires but now they are nothing but slaves to her cousins that are running the city now. She can still vividly remember all the blood and slaughter that has happened, even the young ones were not spared. She's still relatively young and she knows her powers will still improve, but she doesn't want to fight anymore.
Fleur let out a sigh as she slumps down on a sofa, looking at the scene before her. Her uncle feasted on a blonde and brunette. Everybody preying on the weak humans. Immortals like them can lure anyone with their beauty and control powers. It gets tiring sometimes.
"There you are..." An extremely handsome man with 6-foot tall brunette hair, chiseled jaw, and an air of arrogance about him whispered to her ears. Fleur's back straightened as he heard his voice.
"Ezra, I see you made it here after all." Fleur flatly said.
"I wouldn't miss it for the world, my princess." He said smiling mockingly at her.
"So, what can I do for you?" she answered, deflecting on his show of affection.
"Nothing. I came here just to see you once again, the wonder girl of the Landrys'. You are such exquisite beauty up close. You know I was busy in battle at New Orleans so I did not get to take a good look at you. You did great with your time freezing skills. That was exceptional, I wonder what other exceptional thing you can do?" He said raising a brow as he looked at her up and down.
"And you really are an asshole as they say," she said smiling back at him.
He was right behind her suddenly and grabbed her by her ponytail, "You're feisty, I like it." he said licking her ear.
She turned to him and pushed him. He flew from across the room hit the wall. The crowd fell silent for a moment and Ezra stood up laughing. Everyone laughed with him.
"Crazy fuckers." Fleur muttered to herself.
"That's how I like my girls. Savage." Ezra roared to the crowd, as more laughter, whistles, and shouts were heard.
"Got get her son!" Ezra's father urged on.
Fleur just wanted to get away from everyone, from Ezra, his clan, and her crazy family.
She was about to open the door and leave when a shadow as fast as lightning stopped her in her tracks. It was her father.
"Where do you think you're going, Fleur? Do you think I worked hard to get you a match with Ezra for you to sabotage this betrothal? We need their family. If we want to establish our roots here on this town we need them." he hissed at her.
"I just need some air father, It's just too much for me right now." She blurted out.
Her dad grabbed her by the neck and lifted her up. "You do as I order you to do. Do you understand? I have no time to deal with you." He said.
Esme her mom appeared beside them and held his father's hand, "Dearest, let her go, give her some time." She gently said.
Damas let go of her and she fell to the ground. "Deal with her," he said angrily at her mom and walked away.
Fleur was crying and her mom helped her up. "Fleur, you need to get a hold of yourself. Your father will stop at nothing to get this union to work and we cannot mess with Ezra. You know better than this."
"Yes, Mama," Fleur said while wiping her tears.
"Go fix yourself and when you come back I need you to apologize to Ezra," Esme said.
"I will..." Fleur said as she went out the door, as she got to the back of their house she jumped from tree to tree and disappeared into the woods.
She found the spot near the beach she didn't know what led her there, but somehow, she found her way and it seemed like that was where she was supposed to be all along. Away from the prying eyes of her family and the intoxicating presence of Ezra. She heard a group of boys laughing and swimming. She looked at them longingly hoping and praying that like them in her many lifetimes she will be free.
She went down the tree mesmerized by their interaction. She found a boulder and sat there.
She was watching them and feeling the cold damp air, she closed her eyes and savored the stillness of the night, the laughter and banter music to her ears. She couldn't remember when was the last time she was able to have fun. Her family was tenacious and all of them are but pawns to their father's ambitions. Blood, battles, and hunting are in their blood but she was different. Everybody knows that she can be fierce and her abilities are strong, but she just wanted to be normal.
She sensed a shadow and she opened her eyes ready for a battle, her hazel eyes lightened and seemed to glow in the darkness, she gave the intruder a sharp look.
"Are you okay?" the voice said to her.
She recognized that voice, she looked at him intently.
"You don't recognize me? You really know how to let a guy down," he said with a chuckle.
"Oh, it's you." She said, recognizing that it was Zeeb the handsome guy that she met at school. She almost snapped his neck when he grabbed her, damn her instincts that she needed to be nice at him to avoid any suspicion.
He smiled at her and offered his hand, "So you changed your mind, you want to join us?" he said.
She looked at him with wonder, she was intrigued by this mortal. He doesn't seem to be scared of her even when she had her defenses up. Most humans will immediately walk away sensing danger but Zeeb doesn't seem to mind.
She smiled at him and took his hand.
He led her to the group introduced each one and said "This is Fleur, she's the new girl at school."
They all exchanged knowing glances and smiled at her. Except for Ashina who gave her sharp, intense stares.
"Welcome to Willow Creek Fleur," Dean said smiling warmly at her and offering her beer from the cooler they had.
She smiled back, and took the can, she was about to say something when water splashed at her. It was Zeeb.
He was laughing hysterically and said "Sorry I thought you needed to chill you looked like you were about to bite me when I found you."
You bet I was about to, she thought to herself, but with this group of people, with Zeeb, she feel light and happy. She laughed back and splashed water at him, they were having fun and they did not notice that Dean has led the group back to their campsite and left them alone.
When they stopped to catch their breath they were both soaking wet. Fleur sat, her toes digging in the sand. She sighed and smiled at the horizon.
"You are so pretty," Zeeb said watching her while seated beside her.
She looked at him and smiled. "Thank you."
"So what changed your mind?" he said.
"Our house is near this place", she turned to point at the direction she came from, "I just needed to get some air."
Zeeb looked in the direction and saw the huge glasshouse lighted and glowing from a distance.
"Housewarming party?" he said.
"Something like that" she responded.
"Well, families can be...complicated," he said looking thoughtfully in the distance.
"Tell me about it," she said.
"You tell me.." said Zeeb smiling at her.
Their eyes met and Fleur felt all warm and giddy inside. She has never felt this with a mortal.
"Well, my mom is always siding with my dad, and my dad is a jerk." She said.
"Sounds fun to me, "Zeeb said.
She laughed. They both laughed and continued talking.
Little did they both know, back at the Landrys' house, her father, and their spy Hunter was talking.
"Tell me what you saw," Damas said.
"I found the Lycan's lair master. I saw who they were, they are many, but a lot of them are young ones, they have yet to turn." Hunter replied.
"Well, this should be easy." Damas smiled wickedly and asked Hunter to call the elders and Ezra's clan.
Fleur was jumping from trees to trees as she hurried back to her house, she couldn’t explain the feeling she has. She felt light, energized and happy? She couldn’t shake off the smile on her face as she remember the time she spent with Zeeb. No mortal has ever made her feel this way and she was alarmed at the same time this is all so new to her. She reached her house and she climbed up the roof to her balcony. She was taken aback as she saw the lights were turned on. She was pretty sure she did left it off when she went down and joined the party. Her smile was gone and she can feel the agitation building up once more it’s as if she never left the party. She cautiously opened the glass door to her room and she froze. Sitting on her bed was Ezra devilishly handsome and grinning at her. “Where have you been princess?” He asked. “Somewhere, I’m pretty sure the name of the street was None of Your Fucking Business.” She retorted sharply. “I see…still feisty as ever.” He said now standing
Fleur was awakened by the sunlight coming through the glass windows and walls of her room. She has forgotten to close the blinds before she fell asleep. She slowly opened her eyes and a smile form in her lips as she remembers the dream she had. As an Immortal, they can go on for days without sleeping but they do sleep when they want to. Knowing how last night went, she just wanted to escape and let herself linger in the dream world and she has had many vivid dreams in her lifetime but this is peculiar in every way for her. She has never dreamt as evocative as she did and never with a mortal. It was so pure and true. She is a stranger to this feeling tugging at her heart. She never really believed in love, as her clan thrives on fixed marriages and alliances, love is a very rare occurrence if present at all. She knows that her mother loves her dad in this twisted way, despite his torture and unforgiving nature. Her father may be fond of her mom but she has always doubted if true love d
The bell rang and Fleur seemed to snap back from a trance that being near Zeeb puts her in. She hurried to put her things in her bag as she felt the familiar disturbing presence getting near her – Ezra. She flinched as she felt the cold hand on her shoulder. She shuddered at the thought that he might have been watching her and Zeeb. Ezra is a powerful immortal and as such, he is definitely not stupid and her heart was gripped with fear not for herself but to what Ezra may do to Zeeb. She knows more than anyone that their kind can be extremely territorial and to Ezra, she is a property that no one can ever take from him. She gulped and tried to shrug away her unease as she plasters a fake smile as she turned around to face Ezra. “I assume you have taken all the same classes as me?” She said mockingly, trying to hide the nervousness in her voice. “Of course, I would always want to be near my girl.” He retorted putting a big emphasis on the word mine, staking his claim to her and making
The special place was at the beach at Wolf’s Lair, somehow Fleur was not surprised because to her, it was significant too. It was the place where she ran to when she was feeling overwhelmed and sad and now it seemed to make sense why her feet brought her there. She was looking for someplace where she belonged. She sought comfort when she felt so lost and lonely, and there was no place in the world but here. It was not the crashing of the waves or the gentle sound of the breeze that brought me there it was someone and that person is Zeeb. Somehow being here again made her realize what she has been looking for all along, it was not a place she can call home but a person she can belong to.Zeeb got out of his truck and went around to open the door for her. He held out a hand and she took it with a smile, knowing full well she finally found her way to a place she can call her own. They walked together hand in hand. She stopped to untie her sneakers and take off her socks, getting the cue f
“So you’re finally back.” The bitterness and judgment in Ezra’s voice were written all over his face as he looked at Fleur intently. These words seemed like a big tidal wave that suddenly came crushing on the feeling of peace and happiness she felt. She can feel a tight knot forming in her stomach as she met Ezra’s probing gaze. She swallowed back the spiteful words she wanted to say to him so badly, instead, she thought to herself that she must be careful. What she has with Zeeb cannot be discovered especially by Ezra. He is formidable and extremely territorial and she knows, that to him, she is but a thing, a possession, and being his betrothed, she can never be too careful, he will stop at nothing for her to be all his. She cannot let Zeeb be caught in the crosshairs of a powerful immortal and their ego. She has to protect him at all costs. Even if it meant she needed to pretend that she is loyal to her clan and to this man who is towering above her. The man she despises with all h
The hours passed and she did not rest nor sleep. As the night turns into morning all she can think of is Zeeb and how she would give everything to be with him. She left Ezra’s room, and as she got out, her father’s voice greeted her. “I see that you are finally taking your duty to this family seriously.” “Yes father, I know what I need to do,” she replied pointedly. “You should.” He said pacing the halls, leaving his words hanging as if he wanted to say more. “I should get going, I need to get to school. I need to keep up with this charade so I won’t jeopardize your plans.” She said as she started walking towards her room. He dashed to her door before she could open it, blocking her way, and said, “I know you have been toying with that Zeeb guy.” She gulped as she brace herself for what he was about to say. “Yes,” she replied trying not to show her anxiety whenever Zeeb’s name is being mentioned. “I have been watching you, Fleur, there is something about that human that concerns
Hours passed, and the sun turned into a lovely glow of gold, as the cloud's hue changed into a purplish grey, Fleur and Zeeb sat together marveling at the sight as the breeze turns cold. Her head was on his shoulder and Zeeb’s arms wrapped around her. It was a picture of happiness and love. Unknowingly though, a dark shadow is watching from the lush forest a few miles away. Gregory is lurking in the background, his green eyes sharp, looking intently at his target like a predator stalking his prey. A small smile formed on his lips as he moved quickly back deep into the forest and to the Landry’s home.Gregory is a fine soldier himself, he always has been Ezra’s greatest ally, together they led wars and were pivotal to the fall of New Orleans. He was a great strategist and a loyal ally to Ezra’s clan. He has always believed that the Vlads are the clans to rule the world and the whole Immortal family, though Damas’ is an influential Immortal, but the Vlads, for him are superior. He never
The night was clear with thousands of stars shining brightly as the crescent moon illuminated the soft glow over the sea. Zeeb and Fleur have been talking for hours none stop about their likes and dislikes, just really getting to know one another and at times when they fell silent it did not feel awkward at all, it’s a comfortable silence, the one that you only experience when you are with people who makes you feel at home. The silence was broken by the howling they can hear from a distance.Hearing that, Fleur suddenly felt rigid, she stood up, and her eyes seemed lighter than before, almost glowing in the darkness, he swore he heard her hiss. He stood up and touched her arm as if to comfort her, she must have been scared by the sound, Zeeb knows exactly who it came from but he cannot tell. He was also on alert knowing full well that, that call is a warning from the Moon Pride Pack. After their last gathering they have been joining their night patrols as part of their training, he s
In the aftermath of the intense clash with the creature, Fleur and Zeeb stood side by side, their chests heaving with exertion. Sweat trickled down their brows as they surveyed the scene before them—a battleground littered with the remnants of their struggle. The air crackled with tension as they regrouped with their allies, their gazes determined and their hearts filled with an unyielding resolve. The battle had taken its toll, but their spirits remained unbroken."We've come this far," Fleur declared, her voice laced with determination. "We can't let the darkness prevail. Our clans, our loved ones, and the very fabric of our existence depend on our victory."Zeeb nodded, his eyes reflecting the fire of their shared purpose. "We fight not just for ourselves but for the future we envision—a future where Immortals and Lycans can coexist in harmony."The leaders of the Immortals and Lycans, Damas and Damon, stepped forward, their faces etched with determination and battle-hardened resol
The aftermath of the battle left Willow Creek High in ruins. Smoke filled the air, and the place stank of sulfur. Fleur and Zeeb stood in the midst of the wreckage, beaten but not broken."Damn, we actually did it, Zeeb," Fleur said, her voice laced with exhaustion. "But this is just the beginning. Ezra and Gregory won't give up so easily. We gotta get our clans together, unite 'em."Zeeb nodded, scanning the scene. "You're right, Fleur. Our love has brought us this far, and it'll carry us through the crap that lies ahead. We gotta bring peace to our people, end the damn hatred."As they surveyed the mess, Damas emerged from the shadows, his presence commanding attention. The Immortals, led by Esme, stood beside him, determined looks on their faces. The Lycans, with Chief Robe and Damon in charge, joined their ranks, their loyalty fierce.Damas approached Fleur and Zeeb, his voice filled with a mix of pride and concern. "You two showed real strength out there. Your love gives us hope.
The creature loomed before them, a grotesque and formidable being born from the darkest depths of supernatural power. Its body was a twisted amalgamation of sinew and scales, its eyes glowing with an otherworldly light that sent shivers down the spines of even the bravest warriors. The air crackled with malevolence as it unleashed an otherworldly roar, the sound reverberating through the halls of Willow Creek High. Fleur stood at the forefront, her eyes narrowed in determination as she faced the creature. "We won't let you harm anyone else," she declared, her voice steady despite the adrenaline coursing through her veins. Zeeb, his Lycan abilities heightened by the magnitude of the threat, unsheathed his gleaming silver daggers, his fangs glistening in the dim light. "Together, we can defeat this abomination," he growled, his gaze unwavering. Damas conjured dark energy in his hands, forming intricate patterns in the air. "Let's put an end to this madness," he muttered, his voice car
Within the hidden realm of the Immortals, a power struggle unfolded, threatening to tear apart the fragile peace that had been forged. Damas, a respected and powerful Immortal, found himself at odds with a faction led by cunning and ambitious Immortals who craved dominion over all. With the absence of Ezra's clan they wonder if Damas can lead them, they find his decision to sign a treaty with the Lycans is a sign of wekness and he is unfit as a leader. In the chambers of their ancient council, Damas stood tall, his voice resonating with authority and wisdom. "Peace is our only path forward. We cannot allow our thirst for power to overshadow the progress we have made," he declared, his gaze unwavering. Suddenly Ezra, entered the hallway his eyes filled with a sinister gleam, scoffed at Damas' plea for unity. "Peace is a weakness, a surrender of our true potential. We are the Immortals, destined to rule and conquer. Willow Creek is but a stepping stone." The faction of Immortals that d
The days following the hard-fought battle between Fleur and Damas were filled with a deceptive tranquility in Willow Creek. The town basked in the glow of newfound hope and the promise of unity. Fleur and Zeeb reveled in the joy of their love, their hearts entwined like never before. The air was thick with whispers of their devotion, and their love story became the beacon of light in a world shrouded in darkness. Meanwhile, Fleur and Zeeb continued to navigate the complexities of their love, unaware of the dark forces conspiring against them. They spent their days exploring the beauty of Willow Creek, their laughter blending with the gentle whispers of the wind. Their hearts brimmed with hope, believing that their love could bridge the divide between their worlds. But beneath the surface of peace, trouble brewed. Ezra, the leader of the powerful Immortal clan and Fleur's betrothed, seethed with anger. He refused to accept that Damas and Esme had allowed this supposed madness to preva
Fleur and Zeeb stood at the precipice of their mission, their hearts pounding with anticipation and hope. They had gathered their allies, both mortal and immortal, in a secluded location that symbolized neutrality—a place where neither faction could claim dominance. It was here that they would attempt to broker a fragile peace, for the sake of their love and the future of their worlds. As the representatives from each side assembled, tension filled the air. Suspicion and skepticism lingered in their eyes, remnants of the deep-rooted animosity that had fueled the conflict for generations. Fleur knew that the task ahead would not be easy, but she drew strength from the unwavering support of Zeeb and their allies. Fleur's heart raced as she stood before the council of Lycan elders, alongside Zeeb, her love and beacon of hope. The room was filled with tension, the weight of their forbidden romance hanging in the air like a storm cloud ready to unleash its fury. They were surrounded by th
Fleur took a deep breath, gathering her thoughts before she spoke. She could see the worry and caution in Zeeb's eyes, and it pained her to know that she had caused him such distress. She had to find a way to alleviate his concerns while also addressing the complex situation they found themselves in. "Zeeb," she began, her voice trembling with emotion, "there's something I need to tell you. Something I've kept hidden from you for far too long." Her eyes, shimmering with unshed tears, locked onto his, searching for a glimmer of understanding. Taking a deep breath, Fleur steadied herself. "I'm not like everyone else," she whispered, her voice barely audible. "I'm an Immortal, Zeeb. I've lived for hundreds of years, carrying the weight of secrets and watching the world change around me." Zeeb's eyes widened with a mix of shock and confusion. "An Immortal?" he repeated, his voice laced with disbelief. "But how...?" Fleur, her gaze unwavering, continued, "I overheard Chief Robe and Damo
Fleur was heartbroken. She had fallen deeply in love with Zeeb, a Lycan, who she had thought was different from the others of his kind. But now she knew the truth. Zeeb was the very reason her family had come to Willow Creek - to hunt down and kill his clan. Fleur's loyalty to her family had always been unwavering, but now she was torn. Her heart was telling her to be with Zeeb, but she was afraid of what that would mean for the people she loved. She recalled the events of the evening, Fleur couldn't help but feel a sense of envy towards his family. They were so close and full of love for each other, something she had never experienced before. The dinner was filled with laughter, conversation, and happiness. The warm atmosphere made her feel like she was a part of the family, something she had never felt before in her own home. Even Ash, who was Zeeb's younger sister, was a ray of sunshine, making Fleur feel welcome and appreciated. The warmth of the room was contagious, making Fleur
Zeeb’s house is a stark contrast to her own. They live in a cozy cabin near the beach, the fresh air with the scent of salt water is strong you can almost taste it. The crashing of the waves can be heard in the near distance. Inside the aroma of wood and food is mixed in, the place is a home, not some fortress she lived in. As they went inside, the laughter and chatter can be heard immediately. It was a welcoming sight to see a family like this unlike theirs which is all cold and formal, one might think they entered a funeral. Here, they seem to genuinely like one another compared to her home where she is sure everyone despises one another in some twisted way. Chief Robe greeted them with a big smile on his face, “Well, who is this beautiful princess you brought here tonight son?” Her face flushed red at his flattery, she knows she is beautiful but every Immortal is, it’s part of their charm, they were built to look magnificent almost like Gods in the eyes of mortals, it’s what makes
