The hours passed and she did not rest nor sleep. As the night turns into morning all she can think of is Zeeb and how she would give everything to be with him. She left Ezra’s room, and as she got out, her father’s voice greeted her. “I see that you are finally taking your duty to this family seriously.”
“Yes father, I know what I need to do,” she replied pointedly.
“You should.” He said pacing the halls, leaving his words hanging as if he wanted to say more.
“I should get going, I need to get to school. I need to keep up with this charade so I won’t jeopardize your plans.” She said as she started walking towards her room.
He dashed to her door before she could open it, blocking her way, and said, “I know you have been toying with that Zeeb guy.”
She gulped as she brace herself for what he was about to say.
“Yes,” she replied trying not to show her anxiety whenever Zeeb’s name is being mentioned.“I have been watching you, Fleur, there is something about that human that concerns me. You better be careful. I have my eyes on you.”
Rage filled her as she heard his words. “How could you spy on me? Have I not done enough for this family to not warrant your trust? I have been to your wars and I have won for you so many times and if I want to toy with any human, I can and I will do it, it should be none of your business.”
He looked at her with menacing eyes and smiled. “Our wars, you mean. You are part of this family and whether you like it or not everything I am doing and my legacy is your honor. I have led those wars, you did not win them for me. I grab what I want and I get it, nobody, not even you can stand in my way. You should always remember that daughter.” He said and left her panting with anger and frustration.
Her father has always been a difficult man and she knows that she can never hide away Zeeb forever. She knows at some point, she needs to break away from the one thing that gives her happiness and peace. She knows she has to end it soon. How could life be so cruel to an Immortal like her? What’s the use of living forever when all you get is darkness and pain, she sighs, it’s a curse for her while her family only sees it as a blessing. She’s damned, after all, they are still creatures of the night with no soul.
She hurriedly went inside her room and got ready for school. She needs to end it with Zeeb.
She drove to school with her Corvette fast. She needs to get there without Ezra, she needs to see Zeeb. She hurriedly parked and her eyes dart in every direction looking for him. As he came to her view, all her worries seem to melt away, he was also looking for her and as their eyes met it was as if they were the only ones on campus. She ran towards him and he was smiling. She immediately hugged him and he wrapped her in his warm embrace, she wanted to cry but instead, she looked up at him and said “Take me away from here now.”
Zeeb saw the look of desperation in her eyes and he nodded with the understanding that she needs him now.
He led her to his truck and they drove away toward Wolf’s Lair. The ride going there was quiet, Zeeb’s presence was enough for her to stay calm and at peace. He led her out as they come to a full stop and they walked hand in hand towards the beach and into their spot by the rock near the beach. She kicked her sandals and he removed his sneakers too as they sat together. Zeeb was apprehensive to talk, this girl before him is different, Fleur has always been an enigma to him, and the fact that he imprinted on her and she is not a Lycan, baffles him all the more, today she seemed wretched and desperate. He stays by her side quietly and he let her have the quiet she needs, he just knows that at this moment he needs to give her space and let her open up to him at her own pace.
“I need to stop seeing you.” She said with finality and he wasn’t ready for those words. He knows he cannot leave her now that he has imprinted on her, he knows he will never let her go.
He tries to sum up the courage to talk, afraid that he might say words that would scare her away.
“Why?” he finally said.
“It’s just complicated, my family is complicated, and Ezra. Well, Ezra, he is actually my betrothed and I cannot see you anymore…” her words faltered as tears are forming in her eyes.
“I understand, my family is complicated too and traditional, but, we are different. We are young and they are old, we can always break away from their traditions. It’s our life Fleur that we are talking about here, not theirs. I will never let my family get in the way of what I feel for you, they will understand and your family should too.” He said determinedly.
“You are lucky, you have a normal family, mine is, well, we are far from any normal humans can be. We are dysfunctional and toxic, you would not want to be part of us or would want anything to do with us if you only knew who we truly are.” She said in a small voice, careful with the words that she utters, their relationship is complicated as it is and how else would you say to the one guy who made you fall in love after decades and a century that you are not human you are far from human, you are an Immortal?
He sat there quiet for a moment, if she only knew how complicated his own family truly is, but being a Lycan, he doesn’t care, if you imprinted, nothing can ever stop that or could ever get in the way. He held her hand and guided it toward his chest. She felt his heartbeat it was so fast and strong, normally, this would cause her to salivate, and immediately went for his neck, she can feel and hear all his blood running through his veins, she never heard a beat like this on any human ever. It surprises her and she looked into his eyes searching for answers.
“Can you feel it? I know we’ve just met but this is how you make me feel, I can’t breathe properly when I’m with you, I can’t think of anything else but you when you are near. All I want is you, all I need is you.” He said his voice full of emotions, trying to explain to her how he feels without giving away so much, he is desperate and he knows he needs to say these words to her, hoping that she wouldn’t just walk away.
She was stunned and she has no words, a thousand thoughts run through her head trying to make sense of what he just said because she feels it too and from the moment she felt it she has been trying to understand why she has so many feelings for a mortal she just met.
He leaned closer to her and their lips are barely touching as they both closed their eyes and savor the moment that they are close to each other. It was a breathtaking moment, they both fell out of their bodies as if their spirits are the ones talking. It sent electric waves to both their bodies like a magnet being pulled together and they did. As their lips touched it was as if it was just them, the rough waves crashing and the water touching their toes are no longer relevant, it was just the two of them, the silence and overwhelming feeling of peace and bliss that overcame them were the only things that mattered. As their lips parted and their eyes met, they both knew that they are in for a wild ride together. This is something you just can’t let go of and turn away from. There’s no going away from love.
Hours passed, and the sun turned into a lovely glow of gold, as the cloud's hue changed into a purplish grey, Fleur and Zeeb sat together marveling at the sight as the breeze turns cold. Her head was on his shoulder and Zeeb’s arms wrapped around her. It was a picture of happiness and love. Unknowingly though, a dark shadow is watching from the lush forest a few miles away. Gregory is lurking in the background, his green eyes sharp, looking intently at his target like a predator stalking his prey. A small smile formed on his lips as he moved quickly back deep into the forest and to the Landry’s home.Gregory is a fine soldier himself, he always has been Ezra’s greatest ally, together they led wars and were pivotal to the fall of New Orleans. He was a great strategist and a loyal ally to Ezra’s clan. He has always believed that the Vlads are the clans to rule the world and the whole Immortal family, though Damas’ is an influential Immortal, but the Vlads, for him are superior. He never
The night was clear with thousands of stars shining brightly as the crescent moon illuminated the soft glow over the sea. Zeeb and Fleur have been talking for hours none stop about their likes and dislikes, just really getting to know one another and at times when they fell silent it did not feel awkward at all, it’s a comfortable silence, the one that you only experience when you are with people who makes you feel at home. The silence was broken by the howling they can hear from a distance.Hearing that, Fleur suddenly felt rigid, she stood up, and her eyes seemed lighter than before, almost glowing in the darkness, he swore he heard her hiss. He stood up and touched her arm as if to comfort her, she must have been scared by the sound, Zeeb knows exactly who it came from but he cannot tell. He was also on alert knowing full well that, that call is a warning from the Moon Pride Pack. After their last gathering they have been joining their night patrols as part of their training, he s
Zeeb’s house is a stark contrast to her own. They live in a cozy cabin near the beach, the fresh air with the scent of salt water is strong you can almost taste it. The crashing of the waves can be heard in the near distance. Inside the aroma of wood and food is mixed in, the place is a home, not some fortress she lived in. As they went inside, the laughter and chatter can be heard immediately. It was a welcoming sight to see a family like this unlike theirs which is all cold and formal, one might think they entered a funeral. Here, they seem to genuinely like one another compared to her home where she is sure everyone despises one another in some twisted way. Chief Robe greeted them with a big smile on his face, “Well, who is this beautiful princess you brought here tonight son?” Her face flushed red at his flattery, she knows she is beautiful but every Immortal is, it’s part of their charm, they were built to look magnificent almost like Gods in the eyes of mortals, it’s what makes
Fleur was heartbroken. She had fallen deeply in love with Zeeb, a Lycan, who she had thought was different from the others of his kind. But now she knew the truth. Zeeb was the very reason her family had come to Willow Creek - to hunt down and kill his clan. Fleur's loyalty to her family had always been unwavering, but now she was torn. Her heart was telling her to be with Zeeb, but she was afraid of what that would mean for the people she loved. She recalled the events of the evening, Fleur couldn't help but feel a sense of envy towards his family. They were so close and full of love for each other, something she had never experienced before. The dinner was filled with laughter, conversation, and happiness. The warm atmosphere made her feel like she was a part of the family, something she had never felt before in her own home. Even Ash, who was Zeeb's younger sister, was a ray of sunshine, making Fleur feel welcome and appreciated. The warmth of the room was contagious, making Fleur
Fleur took a deep breath, gathering her thoughts before she spoke. She could see the worry and caution in Zeeb's eyes, and it pained her to know that she had caused him such distress. She had to find a way to alleviate his concerns while also addressing the complex situation they found themselves in. "Zeeb," she began, her voice trembling with emotion, "there's something I need to tell you. Something I've kept hidden from you for far too long." Her eyes, shimmering with unshed tears, locked onto his, searching for a glimmer of understanding. Taking a deep breath, Fleur steadied herself. "I'm not like everyone else," she whispered, her voice barely audible. "I'm an Immortal, Zeeb. I've lived for hundreds of years, carrying the weight of secrets and watching the world change around me." Zeeb's eyes widened with a mix of shock and confusion. "An Immortal?" he repeated, his voice laced with disbelief. "But how...?" Fleur, her gaze unwavering, continued, "I overheard Chief Robe and Damo
Fleur and Zeeb stood at the precipice of their mission, their hearts pounding with anticipation and hope. Within the hidden realm of the Immortals, a power struggle unfolded, threatening to tear apart the fragile peace that had been forged. Damas, a respected and powerful Immortal, found himself at odds with a faction led by cunning and ambitious Immortals who craved dominion over all. With the absence of Ezra's clan they wonder if Damas can lead them, they find his decision to sign a treaty with the Lycans is a sign of wekness and he is unfit as a leader. In the chambers of their ancient council, Damas stood tall, his voice resonating with authority and wisdom. "Peace is our only path forward. We cannot allow our thirst for power to overshadow the progress we have made," he declared, his gaze unwavering. Suddenly Ezra, entered the hallway his eyes filled with a sinister gleam, scoffed at Damas' plea for unity. "Peace is a weakness, a surrender of our true potential. In the aftermath of the intense clash with the creature, Fleur and Zeeb stood side by side, their chests heaving with exertion. Sweat trickled down their brows as they surveyed the scene before them—a battleground littered with the remnants of their struggle. The air crackled with tension as they regrouped with their allies, their gazes determined and their hearts filled with an unyielding resolve. The battle had taken its toll, but their spirits remained unbroken."We've come this far," Fleur declared, her voice laced with determination. "We can't let the darkness prevail. Our clans, our loved ones, and the very fabric of our existence depend on our victory."Zeeb nodded, his eyes reflecting the fire of their shared purpose. "We fight not just for ourselves but for the future we envision—a future where Immortals and Lycans can coexist in harmony."The leaders of the Immortals and Lycans, Damas and Damon, stepped forward, their faces etched with determination and battle-hardened resol
The aftermath of the battle left Willow Creek High in ruins. Smoke filled the air, and the place stank of sulfur. Fleur and Zeeb stood in the midst of the wreckage, beaten but not broken."Damn, we actually did it, Zeeb," Fleur said, her voice laced with exhaustion. "But this is just the beginning. Ezra and Gregory won't give up so easily. We gotta get our clans together, unite 'em."Zeeb nodded, scanning the scene. "You're right, Fleur. Our love has brought us this far, and it'll carry us through the crap that lies ahead. We gotta bring peace to our people, end the damn hatred."As they surveyed the mess, Damas emerged from the shadows, his presence commanding attention. The Immortals, led by Esme, stood beside him, determined looks on their faces. The Lycans, with Chief Robe and Damon in charge, joined their ranks, their loyalty fierce.Damas approached Fleur and Zeeb, his voice filled with a mix of pride and concern. "You two showed real strength out there. Your love gives us hope.
The creature loomed before them, a grotesque and formidable being born from the darkest depths of supernatural power. Its body was a twisted amalgamation of sinew and scales, its eyes glowing with an otherworldly light that sent shivers down the spines of even the bravest warriors. The air crackled with malevolence as it unleashed an otherworldly roar, the sound reverberating through the halls of Willow Creek High. Fleur stood at the forefront, her eyes narrowed in determination as she faced the creature. "We won't let you harm anyone else," she declared, her voice steady despite the adrenaline coursing through her veins. Zeeb, his Lycan abilities heightened by the magnitude of the threat, unsheathed his gleaming silver daggers, his fangs glistening in the dim light. "Together, we can defeat this abomination," he growled, his gaze unwavering. Damas conjured dark energy in his hands, forming intricate patterns in the air. "Let's put an end to this madness," he muttered, his voice car
