Chapter three

He is trying to help her live a normal life which she isn't sure her life can be.

Day went by so fast as night comes, Emily breathes harshly through her nose.

   

  She just showered and has changed into the pyjamas Lucas brought for her.

  Lucas knocks on her door, he waited for her to open it.

  " Hey", he says as he smile at her. " Are you ready for tonight?", He says in a rather professional way.

Emily let out a small laugh, she never thought her parole officer will be sleeping with her tonight.

   She nods her head and shoves a blanket and pillow in his hands.

" You are sleeping on the couch", she says. " And don't try anything funny", Emily warns.

" I am not that kind of a person, I respect people's opinions."

Thud. Thud!

  Emily sprang up from her bed, it is as if someone wants to break in front the roof.

  Emily kept a knife beside her just it case she will need it.

   She clutches the knife to her chest, tonight the moon is full and somehow orange.

Emily breaths hitch as she lean against the wall. 

' where is Lucas?', she whispers.

   Emily thinks it is high time she faced her fears so she summons courage to speak.

" Who are you?", She asks as she controls get shaky voice.

  "...."

" I ask again, who are yo....."

" She speaks", the voice says as it sounds like wave crashing on a shore. The voice echoes around her room.

" I thought you are mute."

" Show yourself", Emily demands as she readies her knife tightly in her hand.

Taking a shaky breaths, Emily moves forward with her knife leading the way.

She slashes the sir rapidly to which the creature chuckles.

  Suddenly, creaking sounds and thumping echoes increases.

" Emily", Lucas calls as he tries to open the door. She didn't remember locking the door, Emily runs for the door but the floor disappears under her knocking her on the ground. Her grip on her knife loosen as it fell on the ground.

Emily grits her teeth, her impact with the ground made her back aches.

She crawls to the door but her leg is seize by an invisible force that drag her further down, it pierces her ankle definitely leaving a mark.

 Emily scream in pain, she scurry away from what she can't see.

" Ahh, your screams are like music to my ear. It gives me satisfaction", the creature cackles.

Lucas kept on banging on the door, he continue calling her name.

  Emily crawls towards her weapon, she holds it tightly in her hand.

" Show yourself", she bellows.

" This is getting interesting."

The shadow becomes larger and larger until it took over the whole room. Slowly Emily begins to see the shape of the creature.

 It stands in front of her as its cold eyes is fixated on Emily, its dirty blonde hair shown in the moonlight.

Shivers run down Emily's spine as the creature smile at her showing its numerous spine like teeth.

The creature captivates her.

The body forms next, it is that of a human body, a female.

Her upper body is cover with furs while her Lower body is that of a centipede.

Her long claws drip with a goo like liquid, on her back is pairs of wings. One of the wings bends in a ridiculous way probably from an attack.

" What in the name of God are you?", Emily whispers.

" What am I? Have you forgotten you created me?", The creature asks.

Emily frowns as confusion takes over her features. " You are lying, I didn't."

" Why will I lie?", The creature tilts her head backwards. Her eyes are big and round without a lid. Her iris are blood red as she grin.

" Emily", Lucas barges into the room as he manages to break down the door.

  His eyes widen when he sees the creature in front of her.

" Good, you are two", the creature squeals. She slams Lucas against the wall with her lower body. " The more the merrier."

   Emily crawls towards Lucas, she places his head on her thigh.

" Lucas?", She calls and quickly help him up when he wheezed in pain.

" Who are you?", He asks the creature.

" You will find out", the creature replies. " I have been waiting for this day since I saw you, now it is time."

    Darkness engulfed them as it creeps through their skin. Emily screamed, she clutch her neck as she can't breathe.

Lucas hiss as air explodes from his lungs, he tries to stay sane and keep his eyes open but the fog in the room thickens as the ground shifts beneath them.

Darkness engulfs them as piercing screams hits Emily's ears.

Emily breaths shortens and slowly, she succumbs to darkness around her.

" Emily, Emily, wake up", Lucas shakes her continuously and sigh in relief when she coughs.

" Thank goodness you are alive", he smiles at her, running his hands through his hair.

Emily's vision slowly starts to clear, she panick when she looks around.

" Where are we?"

" I don't know but I think we are in another dimension", Lucas replies. Emily looks around as the rotten smell of decaying substances hits her nostrils.

She scrunches her nose in disgust.

" Another dimension?"

" Like I said earlier, I don't know. We have to keep going if we want to make it out alive", he says as he help her up.

" This does not resemble the human world", Emily says when she notices her surroundings.

" Yes, that is why I said it might be another dimension."

In front of them is a lake that keeps bubbling , it was as red as blood. 

" What is this place?", Emily whispers to Lucas who is staring ahead of her. " Lucas, what is wrong with y...."

" Shhhh", he hushes her as he places his finger on his lips.

He points at something behind her, Emily slowly turns. Her eyes widen as a dreadful feeling runs through her body.

Emily stares at Lucas, how can he be so calm in this situation.
