The morning following that night was grey, and the smell of rain was in the atmosphere, and the wind began to scream outside, shaking the small building, but Peter got up and dressed and disappeared before Lavinia awoke. When she had, she was disappointed and heartbroken to see she woke alone. She lay down on her back, feeling ridiculous for believing he was different, but when he walked back into the tiny room with food, she felt ridiculous again for thinking for a moment that he might be.  She sat up, pulling a blanket up across her chest and smiled at him.

“Looks like we will be stuck here again for another night.” He sat down beside her.

“How did you become…a…vampire?” The question caught him off guard, and he wasn’t sure immediately how to answer. “And how did you learn to control yourself?”

“I was turned by…another very old vampire. As for controlling myself, I have a good friend, Kohl, who had taken the time to help me.” Peter couldn’t tell her the truth of how he was created, that he was one of the first ones created, and he was terrified if she knew the reality of how it happened; she would then look at him differently.

“Is he a vampire as well?”

“No… He is something else altogether.”

           “What is he?”

“They are known as Nephilim. Half-human and half-angel.” His expression, though serious, was still soft. “He is the last of his kind. Very powerful.”

           “Does he suffer from that…hunger?”

           “No, he does not.”

“Then how was he able to help you?” He found her questions endearing. And the more she asked to understand who and what he was, the more attractive to him she became.

“See, his kind are extremely powerful. They have problems with their anger, and they must learn to control it; otherwise, they become monsters. Unstoppable and hard to reason with. So, he taught me to control my need for blood using the same ways he learned to control his anger. The heavens call his kind abominations, and he is a …acquired taste.”

“I see.” She was quiet, leaving Peter awaiting the most obvious question. As he patiently waited for her to ask him, she was working to build the courage to do so. “Can you turn people into vampires?”

           “I can.”

           “Have you ever?”

           “No.”

           “Why not?”

“I don’t find people of this century or the previous ones to be civil enough to not be a threat to humans. I only ever will if I believe wholesomely that they will not be a danger…or at the very least easy for me to help keep under control. Some may call this a gift, some a curse, but it is, in fact, both. It has its good and bad in it.” Again, he was waiting for the question she wanted to so desperately ask. She looked away from him and took a bite of warm bread after swallowing, she looked back at him.

“Would you ever turn me? Make me like you?”

“Yes.” Lavinia had barely finished asking by the time he shot out his answer. No hesitation. He wanted to turn her so he could be with her forever. Lavinia wasn’t expecting a ‘yes’ and especially not so surely and quickly.

“You would make me like you? To spend all of eternity…” She failed to say the last word of her next inquiry.

           “Together?” He asked, hopeful.

“Yes.” She said, nodding her head.

“I would do anything for you to spend eternity with me.” It was barely a full day since they met, and already, they were madly in love and wanted nothing more than to be together forever. Her red lips leaned in to touch his, and he lay her on her back, kissing her as he removed his clothes. “If you decide you want to be changed, know that this will feel much different. More intense.”

“I do.” She whispered, staring him intently in the eyes, and he nodded in understanding she was completely sure. He bit into his own tongue and kissed her, filling her mouth with his blood.

“You have to die now.” He spoke, “for it to work. You’ll come back. I promise.” She took a deep breath releasing an exaggerated sigh. She sat up, and he snapped her neck, letting her body fall back onto the soft bed.

While Lavinia was dead, Peter tracked down a beggar and compelled him to sit in the room for when she awoke. He got beside her and pulled her onto his lap, and her lifeless body lay across him, and he stroked her hair. Hoping she’d come to in a calm state.

Lavinia shot up fast, taking an unnecessary inhalation of oxygen before looking around in a frenzy. “You will be more sensitive to everything. I brought you someone, to feed on… To finish the transformation.” Her hands frantically slid across her body and holding her neck, trying to establish her own reality of what was happening. She left her hands on her neck and looked to Peter, who stared at her guiltily. “It will pass.”

“I have to feed?” Her mind was trying to come together, it was all blurry, and actions weren’t coming together as one like they should be.

“It does get better…Once you drink, things will be better.” Peter insisted on helping her to stand, leading her toward the man he compelled to sit still and stay silent. He was terrified as she neared him. She was fighting her morals to not hurt another and the need to drain him of every drop of blood. “He raped a twelve-year-old girl, tonight.  That’s how I chose him.” Peter held onto Lavinia to keep her steady, and when she got close enough to hear the beating in the man’s jugular, she lunged at him her mouth open, eyes black and sharp canines. Her teeth effortlessly sank into his body, breaking the skin with little resistance and began to drain him.

At the large house, built and owned by Kohl nearly five hundred years ago and owning the surrounding three hundred acres of land where he had it newly renovated and updated with enlarged luxury bathrooms and so on. When you're that old, it's easy to have millions and millions of dollars to spend. They all sat in the main room with solid wood furniture, obviously from the Victorian era.

“What are we supposed to do?” Nora asked, “we need to confirm this whole werewolf thing and then figure out exactly what we are up against. I want to know why they are here.”

“There isn’t much we can do at the moment, Nora. We all need to sleep before we tackle this. Especially you, you become useless, the more tired you are. We need you tip-top.” Kohl stated Nora sighed then yawned in the darkness of the still night.

“He’s right.” Jen agreed, looking at her close friend. Being the only pure human there, her exhaustion showed on her body and face more than anyone leading almost everyone to be concerned about her sleeping habits more than their own. Sometimes she hated how they seemed to baby her, but then again, she also knew it was out of love.

“I’m going to bed.” She confirmed as she made her way to the large oak staircase, taking steps slowly, tiredly to the room she’d sleep in from time to time.

Nora looked around the hazy vision of the village. From where she stood, people ran in terror, screaming, trying to escape the mass of lycans. Tears slid silently down her face as she watched them slaughter the village of men, women, and children. She couldn’t move in her dream, and this made the intensity of the pain they all felt all the stronger. She felt her heart pounding hard, and her stomach was rolling sharp pains up her abdomen into her chest as if directly attacking her heart. She jumped violently as she looked around, her eyes laying on the lycan that ripped open the pregnant woman’s stomach and bit down on her neck. She wanted to move, she tried to escape her dream, but the dream wouldn’t release her. It had something to tell her. At this moment, she cursed the ancestors for this power. “Kill them all!” A huge man roared. He had long, thick curly blonde hair pulled back in a bun with a beard just as long and thick to match his muscular body and towering height.

“Lycans wiped out his entire family. Literally the entire family. Peter is the only one left of his genetic line. His family is thought to be the first line of vampires, so they were, and he is known to be extraordinarily powerful. Jen’s name was originally Lavinia. She’s the first and only vampire he has ever turned. All other vampires that exist are descendants of his family, but they are not related by blood. He isn’t really the only vampire, though, and is not the oldest. There is another who is like nearly four thousand years old.” Kyle answered, getting a look of surprise from Kohl. “What?” “How do you know all about that?” Kohl was surprised, and that wasn’t easy to do. “It’s in the history books…” Kyle replied, not knowing Kohl didn’t know, “I read…A lot, I like to read.” “You know a lot about him,” Nora stated, and he flashed her a slight smile, which she couldn’t help but return. “I do. Some history:Hades created what was figured to be the first vampires in hopes they would be monstrous and cause havoc on all his brother, Zeus, held dear, but some did not follow this intended path. Hades had met Martin Sinclair, one of six siblings of a noble family in 1310 while trying to enlist creatures to dismantle the people all the Gods seemed to love so much. As the guardian of the underworld, he had access to some of the worst creatures there were. Some of the most treacherous witches and warlocks known to history. In return for the promise of freedom, he requested six of them to create what would raping and murdering women whenever he so chose. An unknown amount of time passed by when Martin shot up from the dirt in a panic, but it was only for a moment when he established where he was. The pond. In front of him, one of the witches sat on his knees still. A pang of hunger shot through his stomach, and his entire body felt as if it were going to burst in flames at any moment. The agony bore on. Nicholai shot up next with the female witch in front of him on her knees and still. He wrapped his arms tightly around his stomach, feeling the same pain as his brother. Moments later, Boris and Ranaye felt the same. They all looked to Martin with anger and then the witch that knelt before Martin put a small cut into the side of his neck, and a tiny amount of blood seeped out. Martin’s eyes went solid black, inch-long fangs shot from his upper jaw where the canines should sit, and he lunged at the man’s throat, sinking his teeth deeply into him. Martin’s heart pounded at unbeatable strength and speed as the blood filled his

“I just saw the news, you guys. It’s pretty bad.” Nora said, walking into the lounge. “Fifteen mass murders around the world, mostly here, by many different names. But people claim they’re monsters, werewolves, beasts from hell, hell hounds and the list goes on. A total of 400 have been killed in the past week by them. This is out of hand.” “I agree. I think we need to contact Elizabeth now.” Jen stated, “we need her.” “She is a bitch,” Peter argued. “Yes, she is, but she is a powerful bitch who would love to jump on the hunting lycan bandwagon. Remember, she helped you a lot in the defeat against the lycans the first time.” Jen said. “Well, if we’re going to pull together an army, then we need to call Gabriel too.” Peter declared. “This should be interesting,” Kohl muttered. “Why? Why would it be interesting?” Nora asked. “Both of them are strong personalities, bossy. And to a point rude, not Kohl rud

Elizabeth stood about five foot five with long brown hair and emerald green cat eyes. She was fair skinned, with high cheekbones, and was covered in tattoos, which had been magically applied since traditional ones didn’t stick. She was wearing a black and red leather corset, a long black velvet coat, and pleather stiletto boots with a long black leather skirt with a slit all the way up the side. She held a wine glass full of warm blood standing in the center of her ballroom, admiring the large windows staring at the huge moon. She turned around to see a large man standing at the entrance moments later a couple dozen more piled in with him. “I don’t remember ordering all of you, but that’s alright; I have a lot of stamina.” She winked, knowing full well what they were. “We’re here to kill you.” The man stated she smiled. “Well, this isn’t a fair fight.” “Well, we needed to be sure we had enough to kill you. Sorry if it’s too many.” He said sarcastically. “Oh, honey, no, you misun

Elizabeth was such a tiny little girl sickly all the time. It was miraculous that she survived. When she finally reached the age of thirteen, her sickness was catching up. Once it became apparent, she was going to die; her father carried her into the wilderness and left her in a meadow to die alone. He had been sickened by her since the day she was born. She could hear the animals of the night circling her weak little body. She drew just enough strength to curl herself up into a ball to cry herself to death. A flash of light shocked her eyes, and she was blinded for a few moments. When her eyes adjusted, she focused on the green light in front of her. She mustered enough energy to sit up against a tree and looked around to see if she could see someone. A black woman in a green flowy gown stepped out. Her skin seemed to shimmer even in the dark. Her eyes were green, like the way Elizabeth’s were now. The woman was beautiful. At that time, Elizabeth had never seen anyone of a

Wasn’t Peter and his siblings the first?” Nora shook her head as Kyle stood beside her. “Yeah, the books…” Kyle began, cut off by Elizabeth. “Believe me, I am mentioned in books, but more so, all over the middle east and Europe, especially Egypt, they have stories of me written into their walls. Hieroglyphs. I am from what is modern-day Germany. I have explored the entire world.” “How old does that make you?” Kyle asked her inte

"I only sang 'we got the beat.'" Elizabeth replied confused and he nodded. "Yeah. Their only popular song. White Snake, please." "Uh, yeah which song?" "Here I go again." Gabriel said and Elizabeth snickered. "What?" "Nothing. It's nothing." "No. What? It's a great song." "Yeah I know it is. I didn't say it wasn't. For whatever reason I expected you to say slow n' easy." Elizabeth replied with a big smile spread across her soft pink lips. "Seriously? Are you gonna let me go with the whole sex dreams thing? Elizabeth found herself to be humerous, Kohl however did not. "No. Don't talk about her and I like that." Their eyes met and his were black. "Calm down, Kohl. You're gonna hurt yourself. Face it you and her, at some point, will have sex. It's basic nature. The fact you see her as this sweet innocent girl is cute and charming and all, but she isn't a little girl, she's a woman. "Okay, so we'll combine most of the bedding and tie them on there and drag. There's too many for carrying." Elizabeth decided, Kohl didn't argue with her and just did it. They irritatingly began dragging the loud, moaning group. The walk was annoying, frustrating and to such a degree both of them were silently considering leaving all of them behind. They were walking for hours and hours without conversation. It seemed as if the conversations were always in a constant state of interruption. For two people who had horrible tempers, they were able to stay calm. To their own surprise. "Are we gonna hit a river or lake soon? That won't make this worse?" Elizabeth asked looking to Ivanka. "I believe so. We'll walk by a siren's lake. So becareful, sirens and mermaids are nasty little things. Kohl, my dear, you must stay far from that river. You and I can stay with all them and she can fetch it. These are female sirens, she will be immune." "Alright." Kohl said grinding his t

Kohl stood up looking at Elizabeth with confusion. "What in the fuck is going on with them?" He asked more in general than to Elizabeth. "I don't know...They sound almost like...they're." She paused a moment. "Having sex." Both of them said in unison. ***** Peter "Hey." Jen's soft voice said, when Peter turned around he saw a beautiful sandy shore pressed up against trees and a beautiful lake. He began to walk away laughing. "Here, drink as much of this as you can right now." Christian said hurrying up to her with a canteen of water moments after the guard walked away. "Drink it, hurry because we have to go." Elizabeth took the canteen and began to chug it. "I love you all." Elizabeth said after drinking most of the water, she handed the canteen and what water was left to Christian and began to go with him down the hall to the gate. "You're going to be fine okay? We have a plan. It will succeed and we're all going to get out of here." Christian seemed to be trying to reassure himself more than her. He gave her a hug before he had to leave. It was early morning when Elizabeth and Kohl were woke up by buckets of ice water being thrown all over them. Both of them gasped in shock from the cold. "Wake up humans. It's time to get ready for the battle. You must eat and drink now and relieve yourselves. We will be commencing the battle shortly." A centaur they hadn't seen before said tossing them bags filled with fruit. What the fruit was exactly was a mystery. The centaurs grabbed and chained the wrists of Borislav, Nora, Gabriel, Peter, Freya and Johnathan and led them out. "What are you doing with them?!" Elizabeth screamed at them, but they all ignored her. Shortly thereafter Christain arrived to lead them to the armory to get their swords and prepare themselves. "I am trying to figure it all out. I was awake all night trying to figure it out. I'll keep trying, but you need to not die." "Yeah that's an idea." Elizabeth said shaking her head as she grabbed a sword and shield, "uh, this shit is so heavy now. No

"Hmm..." Everyone heard before they saw where it came from. A moment later the biggest centaur they'd seen so far appeared from the hall. "Who are those that I will be battling?" "Me." Kohl said, "and her." He pointed to Elizabeth who was convincingly not looking intimidated. Kohl was calm and cool as he generally was, and Elizabeth was standing tall and firm as she typically did. "Neither of you look like much to be battling. I hope I do not have to go against you," he said looking down towards Elizabeth. "I wouldn't want to damage that pretty face of yours." She rolled her eyes and he tightened his lips in disapproval. "What are your names?" "Does it really matter?" Kohl asked sitting down against the far wall, acting as if he didn't give two shits about anything. "Not really. I just do like to know the names of those I will be battling. As soon as they passed the gate's threshold Elizabeth and Kohl felt their mortality. And how weak they were. Her eyes became normal human eyes that were green like when she was human. She no longer had fangs and all her unique features of being whatever she was, was gone. In physical appearance, Kohl didn't change at all, but he felt it. Freya's wings disapeared and she was a full sized human. All three them were either examining each other, or examining themselves. "Ahhh, ha ha ha!" Freya squeeled excitedly, "I'm big. Look at me! I'm huge!" She was jumping up and down with excitement even though she was about the same size as Nora, she wasn't big at all in human terms. But Elizabeth and Kohl let her have it. "I like this. I like this so much better!" "Come now! Follow me. The king and queen would like to see you." Nothing stirred throughout the rest of the night, except for the trees. And as dawn finally came Elizabeth went and hunted something down for the humans to eat. By this time Jen was now just a pile of ash, which when Peter saw her he broke down crying again. Sitting just out of sight was Freya, the little fairy who'd been Elizabeth's best friends for many centuries. She wasn't prepared to meet everyone else yet, not without Elizabeth there. Fairies had quite the terrible reputation, it was mostly well deserved though some were exceptions. Elizabeth returned soon after dragging a boar's body behind her. "I'll be honest I was surprised I could find anything for you guys to eat. And definetly not so quickly. How many blood bags do we have left? I still have awhile before I'll need to feed, but I gotta know." "Eight." Gabriel answered looking in the backpack. "Thanks for getting the food." "No problem, can you guys please start the fire over here while I prepare the boar?" T
