SAMANTHA’S POV

The solemnity of the silence between us was something I didn't want to get over. If this was what it meant to be at peace– in his arms, I'd willingly grow gray hairs.

"To the next item on the menu," Lucas said when I pulled away from him.

I flinched and shook my head, "Next item, what are you talking about?" I asked with a mixture of curiosity and anticipation– fuck the butterflies, it was a whole school of birds fluttering in my stomach.

"Come on…come on let's go," he said, pulling me outside the dressing section.The attendant packed the other dresses and the old one I was putting on before now and dropped it at the back seat.

Lucas held the door open and waited till I was seated comfortably, before making his way to the other side of the car. "Lucas…" I called when he ignited the car back to life.

First it was a pretty dress, second whisking me away to only God knows where.

"You can't just take me anywhere you want anytime you feel like it," I said in a weak attempt to protest.
