"Hi, Deja." The masculine voice said with a hint of reservedness.

"Hey Collin, how are you?"

“I’m okay.”

“Thanks for inviting me out to dinner. I know this must be about Olivia, right?” She says, still staring at him strangely.

"Deja?" Collin calls her name.

“Uhm, yes,”

“What’s wrong? Why are you staring at me?”

“O,h nothing.

"Ah, where are my manners?" Collin says, quickly standing to pull out a chair.

"Here, have a seat."

Amanza takes a seat, still staring at him. She didn't know if Collin wanted to talk about anything serious with her or if he was just looking for a good time with his friend. But he wouldn't get anything from her that went on between her and Holland if that’s why he asked her for dinner.

"I ordered you a glass of red wine. Would you prefer white or something else?"

"No red is fine. It's usually what I drink," Amanza says, still staring as she raises the glass to her lips.

Collin sips his tequila, smiling nervously and showing a hint of curiosity about her behav

"I don't know about us getting back together...but I did not know how I felt about him and was angry. All I can say is we talked and covered a lot like two grown-ups, and I know how I feel about him...""I'm still not following," he said quietly. "Even though our relationship is in question, I knew I loved him at one time, and he loved me. We've been married for three years, and after being divorced for six months. In two nights, we still found an attraction between us and chemistry. That’s all I’m going to say, do you understand?" Collin nodded his head slowly, thinking about him and Olivia. "So, you're keeping your options open but not hoping you two get back together. Right?” "Exactly. I’m keeping my options open. If he’s not the right guy. I'll move on." He stared at the table for a moment. "Have you ever considered the possibility that you're just emotional right now after going through the storm and so much this year? And since Holland happened to be there, it’s not mistaken

"Collin, you're a great guy, and I care about you. However, I don't see this developing into a relationship if that's what you're looking for from me."He stared at her blankly like he hadn't heard her. Did he hear what she said? "You don't see it going anywhere?" he asked quietly. "No, I don't, I'm sorry." If he were hurt, he wouldn't have shown it. There was no anger or pain in his eyes. “Have you forgotten? I was there for you to pick up the pieces last time.”Amanza rolled her eyes. “This is not about Olivia but me?” “Yes, I don’t want to see you hurt again, Deja.” Placing her hand gently on Collin’s masculine hand in a reassuring manner. “Look, I’m a big girl and can care for myself. • When Regret Isn't Enough   53. No More Pain

Collin’s PerspectiveA week had passed. Collin knew he needed time to purge himself emotionally from his firm and close connection to Deja Amanza Wright. He filed away all the memories of wishing, thinking, and dreaming about the girl he had wanted for so long but would never have by his side. Collin sadly mumbled. "It's done."He flexed his hands open, then closed them tight against his knees, trying to push back the tidal wave of tears he felt. Logically, he knew that this was what he had to do. The pain coursed through his body to his broken heart. He couldn't keep hoping that he had an opportunity when there was none. So now it’s time to do and see things differently. If I stay in the same place emotionally, I fear I will be stuck and never move past my devastating loss. And as much as he wanted to hold on to these memories, never to let a single one of them fade. He prayed out loud. “Oh! God forbid let these memories disappear completely before they drown me.”Each day at work

  • When Regret Isn't Enough   55. Meeting You Again

He didn't want to draw the young ladies' attention to him. Collin wasn't looking for a rendezvous or relationship with no one tonight. It was just that she reminded him of Olivia. Not that that's a good thing. Because deep down inside, he was still a little sore at her for rejecting him and virtually calling him a player."How could she and Deja be thinking the same way about me? I’m far from a player. I have always been a one woman’s type of guy."Collin takes another handful of nuts from the bowl in the middle of the table. But still, he couldn't deny the young lady sitting close to the exit was sexy. It was next to impossible; it was hard not to look and stare. 'I'll take just one more look. Wow! She resembles Olivia; the only difference is the hair. When I met her, she wore her hair straight, and this girl's hair was curly. She's good-looking, but so are half the girls in this place. • When Regret Isn't Enough   85. Secrets

Secret desires are those things we deny ourselves, perhaps because we think it’s not something we should do because, in some kind of way, we feel it’s wrong. Olivia tried to abstain because she knew that once she had gone all the way, she would never find her way back. She shook her head. ‘Deja kept secrets from me, too, and she hasn’t told me out of her mouth that she wants to get back with her ex-husband, Holland. "I see you are still a little uptight. Relax, we didn't sin." She nodded rather than trusting herself to agree or speak because she was unprepared to interact with this good-looking flesh and blood of a man she assumed she had sex with and for sure he was her husband.Olivia sat down at the table across from him. "Tell me what you remember? Don't leave out anything."She said in a remarkably calm voice, breathtakingly beautiful even first thing in the morning. 'I knew I made a good choice.' He mutters."Okay, promise me you will remain calm like this?"He took her small hand, his thumb caressing the soft flesh over her knuckles. As he lowered his head, his lips replaced his thumb."Now, if you don't remain calm, dear, I’m not going to tell you anything, you got that?" She could feel him tighten his grip the instant he touched her, attempting to extract her fingers. His head came up slowly."Take a sip of your coffee first." Those sable eyes met and captured his pair of dark brown

Olivia's eyes popped open, startled out of a deep sleep, hearing her blaring alarm clock go off, blasting the words! "If you liked it, you shoulda put a ring on it!" It was Beyonce's song screaming in his ear. She closes her eyes and turns off the pink and black alarm clock on the night table beside the bed. But that’s when a body next to hers begins to stir. "Yes, give me one second to pull up this song on my playlist." She stood there smiling, looking up at how handsome he was under the moonlight while listening to the water caress the shore. A song she never heard before came on; Collin took her around the waist and settled his hand at the small of her back as they began to sway slowly and softly to beat to the song called "Paris in the Rain."He sang the song in her ear as they were moving in sync with the beat. His lips caressed the tender parts of her earlobe, and his voice melted her body, leaving it like whipped butter. Closing her eyes, it felt as if she was floating away; it felt like a dream that she didn't ever want to end. Collin continues to sing, placing his lips ever closer to her ear singing, fondling her earlobe with his lips and making her soft release moans of ecstasy. The love sounds she made were more exhilarating than the thrills of fans screaming his name. He wanted to call out her name over and over. When he gaze

Olivia honestly felt no pressure, just happiness, being and talking with Collin. She sat here tonight with him at candlelight dinner. There were sides of him that she simply loved. His cute, talkative way about him. And then there was this other side of him, this masculine, sultry, sexy young man sitting here with her, possessing a magnetic force that was making it difficult for her to resist him sexually.Even though, reluctantly, she was helping Holland have a surprise wedding for Deja, her best friend. She had her own decision she needed to make in regard to her and Collin. Their conversation with him last night was quite intriguing."Yes, you know I'm not a traditional guy, nor am I average, so why live an average, ordinary life? Why waste time dating while at the same time being committed to only one person? That sounds like marriage to me. So why can'

Holland rolled over onto his back. "You mean we should get married again?" He chuckled. "Why baby, we are legally already husband and wife.""Yes, I know, but honestly, did you mean those vows when you said them to me?"The stress came over his face. His mind was in the thralls of making love for the first time in three years to his deliciously sexy wife, and now he's being stopped dead in his tracks! And he's a little bit shaken at her suggestion."You just said you would do anything to prove that you love me, and if you are sincere, I want to start over Holland. The first time was sudden, and it was a sham on your part. This time ,I want us to be seriously committed to one another and for everyone to know.""Is this everyone, meaning Susie Hubbard?""Especially her, Holland. You talked to her tonight and didn't mention anything to me. Other than what you thought I wanted to hear."He glanced at me. By the way, I held a frowning gaze with a healthy dose of curiosity and mistrust. Hol
