In Lucas's home, Diana and Mrs. Baker was busy preparing dinner in the kitchen.
The two were already close like aunt and niece. Mrs. Baker didn't feel that Diana is someone to keep away from. At first she would keep a respectful distance, after all, she is the Young Master's girlfriend and possibly the Future Madam.
But Diana's gentle demeanor and friendly approach towards everyone who works for Lucas, made them want to treat her like their own family member. They genuinely care for her.
Lucas was in his home office, skimming through some files when the doorbell buzzed. Mrs. Baker opened the door to see Dwayne and Morris, Lucas's brothers.
"You must be Diana!" Dwayne greeted, pulling her hand for a handshake. "I'm Dwayne. This is Morris."
"Nice to meet you both." Diana smiled politely.
Lucas has told her before about the names of his family member
Monday at Forrest Research Institute, Diana was busy with work as usual just like Lucas. They were both preoccupied with tasks and didn't want to disturb the other. That was their dynamic. They respect each other's work life. They don't keep checking up on the other and get mad when the other won't answer at the speed of light. However, at this time, someone clearly didn't feel the same. A woman dressed in a designer-brand dress and sandals was demanding to meet Lucas outside his office. The secretary has already told her that her boss is in a business meeting and can't receive visitors at the moment. "Tell him Veronica is here. He'll meet me." Veronica Turner insisted, her eyes looked down on the secretary. She has been chasing Lucas for more than a week already. But every time she'll ask to see him, they would tell her he's at a business meeting
Lucas entered his office and saw the lunch ready on the coffee table. He went to kiss Diana's lips passionately, assuring her that she is the only one that could stir him inside. Diana responded to his kisses, even teasing him, nipping his lips. "Hmmm.. I should make you jealous more often." Lucas teased. "Don't you dare!" Diana glared at him, pinching his waist. "Owww… Only a joke. A joke.. I'm a master of avoiding women like her." Lucas hugged her tight, sending feathery kisses on her. Diana scoffed. "Why is that woman always here anyway?" "No idea. If it's really important, she can just state her purpose instead of just saying she wants to see me. I don't have any recollection of any pending projects related to their company." He shrugged his shoulders. "Heard her say she's going to be the Future Ma
On a warm, sunny morning, a woman in a red two-piece swimsuit lay on a reclining chaise by the pool. She was scrolling on her phone when she saw a post in Chatify from Dwayne Ingram. She narrowed her eyes. 'Which sister is he talking about?' Veronica Turner thought. Then a sudden thought entered her mind. She gasped. 'Don't tell me it's that bitch from the office? That secretary? No, it can't be. He must be talking about someone else. She's only a secretary....But what if it's her?!' Veronica was fuming. Her skin turned red in anger. "GAhhhhh! Darn it!!!" 'I underestimated that woman. How can she get close to Lucas's brothers so easily?' She gritted her teeth. 'This won't do! I need to see Lucas.' Clenching her fist, an idea formed in her head as she recalled that her grandma will be hosting he
At the laboratory, the lab technicians were already packing up their stuff and getting ready to clock out. Some of them were just finishing up the last lab requests. "Do you guys have anything planned for later? I found a hot pot place I wanted to try. If you guys are free.." Miriam invited. "I'm free.. Oh.. Armie will be off too by this time. I'll call her up." Kate said. "I'll go.." Kathy also wanted to try it. Diana didn't have anything planned. Lucas went out of town for work. "Umm.. I didn't have anything planned. But my roommate will be back today." Diana told them. "Bring her! We want to meet her.." Miriam almost hopped in excitement. "Alright. Let me give her a call first." Diana picked up her phone and dialled Heather. "Hey Di. Something up? I'm just clocking out now." Heather greeted.
At the Red Monkey restaurant, the group were enjoying their hotpot when a few customers caught their attention. As soon as they entered the restaurant, one of those customers recognized someone in their group. He then told the others and every now and then they would glance at them. "Is it just me or those people on that table across ours just keep looking this way?" Kate commented, feeling awkward. "Hmm? Who?" Miriam wondered, looking around. "Shh. Be discreet." Kate warned. Miriam nodded, then discreetly glancing at the table across them. Indeed, the people were looking in their direction. "You guys know them?" She asked Liam. "Uh-uh.. I don't know any of them." Liam shrugged his shoulders. Diana also lifted her eyes and looked at the direction they were referring to. Upon seeing the people that were
The group bid farewell and went their separate ways, Diana and Heather went back to their apartment. "So, you've been staying at Mr. Ingram's place when I was out of town huh" Heather teased. "Looks like you two are getting serious." Diana pinched her waist, the other tried to evade it. "Ow.. hahahaha" Heather laughed at Diana's blushing face. "I hit the nail then." "Psh!" "Since you've met the whole family and they like you a lot.. Will I be the maid-of-honor then?" "Geez… Lucas hasn't mentioned anything like that. And we've only dated a while, it's too soon to talk about marriage." "Mehh.. seems to me like he has already made your affairs as his." "Hmm.. he has been helping me a lot with my family matters." "Uh-huh.. Not just that, you're practically living in his house already
It was the day for Old Madam Elizabeth Turner's 80th Birthday celebration. Guests have started pouring in, in The Shining Star. At the front, Stanley Turner greeted the guests coming in. Inside, the old lady sat in the middle seat, greeting and thanking the guests for coming to her celebration. Veronica was sitting next to her, her neck craning, checking to see if Lucas had arrived. When it was already almost time for the program to start and still no sign of the Ingram family, Veronica was about to excuse herself when her father came in with Hugh Ingram, Emma, Dwayne and Morris. Veronica was getting anxious, when finally she also saw Lucas. Only then she sighed in relief and her face shone brightly. "Hello Uncle Hugh, Aunt Emma. Dwayne, Morris….Lucas… How are you?" Veronica greeted, her gaze locked on Lucas. "Happy birthday, Mrs. Turner." Hugh greeted the old lady. "Ha
That evening, Diana has just finished getting ready to go to the Winchester Family's house. "Will you be telling them about meeting your real family?" Heather asked. Diana paused. She contemplated for a while. "I've been thinking, it would be a different scenario if my real family turned out to be like other families. They won't bat an eyelash if they think my real family is beneath them. They will most probably happily let me go my way. But since that is not how it is, don't you think they'll try to keep me close instead?" "Hmmm.. Most likely, yes. Since your mom turned out to be from the Griffin Family which belongs to the Great 7 and not just an unknown person, and even your dad is actually the best surgeon in the country who is also known internationally, they would probably curry favor instead." Heather surmised. Diana plopped on the couch. "Yeah.. just the thing I don't want. I've been
