Chapter 282 A Late-Night Clown Sighting

William’s face was seized by violent horror. He was covered in goosebumps. His hair was standing on end. No matter how firm his beliefs—or lack thereof—were as an atheist, his conviction was seriously challenged by the primal fear that was incited by the potential danger headed their way.

Slowly—mechanically—he turned.

There was a man behind him, hidden by the shroud of darkness that was created from the fading light.

William could not capture a single feature on the man’s face. It was tenebrous, merely shadow and silhouette—to William, it was a terrifying sight.

He took a gulp and backed away from the silhouette until he was toe to toe with Howard and the driver. “Who… Who are you?” he demanded, his voice audibly quivering.

Howard and the driver were just as harrowed too. They shook like leaves, almost certain that they had just stumbled upon a supernatural creature.
