Faye had never felt so helpless.

Her hands and feet were bound, and her means to resist her captors had been incapacitated.

The car was so well-insulated that it muffled anything coming from the outside. All that had gotten through to her was the sound of someone talking—a heated argument, maybe—and that was it. She was completely clueless as to what was going on outside.
