CH - 9

Jessy:

I closed my eyes tightly and heard a small laugh. It was like one of those unwanted remarkable moments you wouldn't even want to be a part of if you are a very awkward and shy person. 

"It's alright." The boy assured smiling fondly at me.

"I'm sorry!" I appologising while looking in his blue eyes but not daring to look towards his naked body. He was eyeing me up and down while I tried to figure out the meaning behind that smirk which was plastered on his handsome face.

I walked outside without another word as the awkwardness dominated over the calm surroundings.

I groaned knowing it was the second time in a day I faced such moments. I don't know why all the embarrassment comes to me. It felt like I was the regular stop for this unwanted visitor. Someone save me.

                                Luis:

What was that? Who is she? She looked so pretty. Her beautiful black almond eyes, her cute confused face, I couldn't get her out of my mind. A sudden feeling of  attacked me when I saw her.

Do I like her already? Or is it just a misconception? But when I stared in her beautiful eyes hidden behind the round specs, I forgot everyone. Maybe I'm just overthinking or maybe my pathetic ex was not leaving my head causing me to take unnecessary steps faster. 

I smiled to myself knowing how beautiful her voice sounded even though she just muttered a little sorry. 

Oh Man! So cute girls around the world and all I get is troublemakers. 

I decided to get ready then start a conversation with her. Motioning inside the bathroom nonchalantly because my bathroom needed a plumber to pay a visit and fix a thing or two. 

                             Jessy:

I went back to Kate and told her about what happened. She seemed more and more excited as I recited the frustrating moment.

"What? Shirtless!" Kate said mouth wide open. Her expression indeed clarified her over excited nature.

"So what?" I asked rolling my eyes.

"What was the colour of his eyes?" She asked intrigued. 

"Blue." I replied as I was looking in his eyes while talking so that my eyes won't fall on his body.

"That was Luis Adison!" Kate shouted amazed.

"Ok! Whatever." I hissed trying to indicate Kate about the way she was madly fangirling. 

"He is a millionaire and he's really handsome. I always wished God to give me such a boyfriend but ok I will be happy with Michael. " Kate said dramatically. I first shook my head as her way of talking was too fast to catch on time.

I stared horrifically towards and she nodded pretending to be coy. I was amazed and shocked.

"What do you mean by 'happy with Michael'? I asked skeptically.

"Yes!! He just aksed me out and I said yes." I was just going to fall but someone grabbed my shoulders. It was Jordan.

"Thanks! " I said to Jordan while still staring towards Kate. I mean they just met and all of a sudden they are together. Maybe it's this blonde's charming and glamorous persona captivating others.

"It's ok! Actually I wanted to apologise for what happened before. " He said moving his hand in his hair. I moved my head towards the indeed guilty guy.

"But you already did. It's alright. " I exclaimed calmly with a smile. It was getting really awkward for me and hence I understood how awkward he might be feeling. 

Suddnely Michael came rushing towards us and hugged her. They both looked cute together.

"Sorry Babe. You didn't mind isn't it?" Michael said kissing Kate's forehead.

"It's ok! Sweetheart. " Kate said kissing his cheek. Somehow all the lovy dovy things they did looked fake. 

"I think we should leave them alone." Jordan whispered. I nodded.

"I also think that. " I said chuckling and walking away with Jordan.

"So are you a student?" He asked while moving leading me towards a small garden. I followed.

"Yes! I'm a medical student. Senior year." I said and Jordan nodded.

"I think medical studies are tough. Isn't it? " He said while stopping and turning towards me.

"No! Not that tough but when one gets used to these studies they feel easy." I said. He nodded.

A waiter came towards us and Jordan offered me a drink. I again took juice because I didn't like drinking or maybe I didn't want to risk.

"So, what's your age ?" He asked.

"21. You?" I asked.

"24. Who all in your family? " He asked while stuttering a little and making it clear that he didn't want to sound intruding. 

"Me, my father and mother. Right now they are in london for a meeting. By the way we live in New York ." I clarified before he could stretch the topic further. 

"Oh! Is that? We all are from there too." He stated with a huge smile reflecting his dimples.

"I know. Michael told us." I said sipping juice.

"Ok! So are you single?" He asked. I felt more awkward as the question slipped out of his mouth. He was behaving more and more frankly every passing moment. 

"Yeah!" I replied. Don't know why but he smiled as if he won something.

I checked the time and OH MY GOD!!!!! It reflected 9 p.m.

"Actually it's time. We have to go." I told Jordan and went straight to Kate without passing a second glance towards my acquaintance. Suddnely my phone buzzed. It was Bobby.

Call:

Bobby: hey! I'm missing you guys a lot!

Jess: we miss you a lot too! What are you doing?

Bobby: Nothing! But I was talking to my boyfriend just moments ago.

Jess: What?!! You also?

Bobby : What do you mean?

Jess: Kate's got a boyfriend too.

Bobby: You should also find someone. (Laughs)

Jess: You leave that! Tell me what's his name?

Bobby: yeah his name is J- ..........

My phone's battery died making me more infuriated and frustrated. I went straight to Kate who was madly indulged in talking and staring at her lover.I told her the time and warned her about the consequences.

"It's alright! Don't panic." Kate assured as if getting punishment was not more than being hit with a sponge.

"Let's go!" I whinned like a mad kid.

"Yeah! Wait a minute." She nodded and went away. I waited.

I was standing right there when that same boy from the bathroom came and stood next to me.

"Hi!" He said.

"Hi!" I replied nervously.

Don't know why but whenever I talk to him, a strange feeling runs down my spine. His blue eyes are really beautiful. Noo! Don't think about it.

"So, what's your name?" He asked politely. His voice is more sweeter than chocolate.

"Jessica Anderson. " I replied even though being tired of being asked the same question but it was all normal as they were all strangers so introduction was must.

"I'm Luis Adison." He said while taking his hand out from his pocket.

I shook his hand and smiled taking in account his good behaviour.

"Nice to meet you !" He exclaimed trying hard to get rid of the boring and awkward scene.

"Nice to met you too!"

"So, where do you live?"

"New york. I know you live there too. Already your friends have told me." I said irritated now and he nodded while chuckling. 

"Oh! Yeah!" He said moving his hand in his hair and stared at my face.

"Are you looking for someone?" He asked a little tired of coping up with my not interested to talk phase. 

"Yeah! My friend." I said moving my head here and there while cursing the girl in my head.

"Do you want me to help?" He asked.

"Yeah! I think I really need your help otherwise I will get lost." I said and he nodded. 

"So where do we start?" He said.

"I really don't know. I think she went to meet Michael." I said looking at him with a confused look.

"Michael? Why? " He asked with a small smile.

"You don't know? OK!  They are you know- uh- in a relationship." I said looking away as I was too shy to say out all these things in front of others. 

"Ok! I didn't know." He chuckled. 

"I also came to know about it just minutes ago. " I replied.

"Ok! Michael loves the garden. Maybe there. Let's go! " He said and moved ahead. I followed him.

He was really tall. Taller than me. I'm 5'6 so he might be 5'11. It looked like he was 5'11. Suddnely he stopped but I couldn't control my speed and hence I bumped into Luis. We fell with a thud on the ground.

I fell on top of him with my body in close contact with his. He was staring in my eyes and I was doing the same but just my eyeballs were widened due to the unexpected and not required moment. Something echoed in my heart to not even move and just enjoy this moment but I pulled myself up and tried to stand but fell again on top of him.

"Ohhhh!" He screeched in pain as I indeed hurted his legs while again falling.

"I'm sorry!" I said embarrassed.

"It's alright!" He whispered.

I slowly lifted myself and this time succeeded without any problem. Luis stood up and shook down dust from his clothes.

We gave awkward smiles to each other and kept moving. Finally we heard voices from the garden. We saw Kate and Michael kissing.

I turned my head and Luis laughed.

"Give them privacy." I pouted while he just laughed.

I was annoyed so I shouted 'Kate' and ran towards her.

"Let's go!" I demanded.

"Bye Michael!" She said and we rushed towards the gate. Actually I dragged her with me.

"Wait! " Luis shouted from behind while running towards us. We stopped waiting for the thing which was left to be said.

"You will not get a taxi now, so I can drop you." He proposed.

"Yeah! That's right." Kate said even without thinking about it once. I mean they are strangers!

"Yeah! Michael can join us too." He said and Michael rushed towards us from behind. 

Kate and Michael giggled and chatted while Luis went to take the car. It was getting really hard for me to not focus on the love birds because it reminded me of Harry.

Finally Luis came with a black car. Kate and Michael went to sit at the back so I reluctantly sat on pessangers seat in the front. Luis started driving without saying anything. 

"Guys! Pls don't move your heads behind." Michael warned while Kate laughed and giggled.

"Ok!" Luis replied while grinning widely.

I moved my head outside rolling my eyes and regretting coming here. Kate's phone rang grabbing my attention.

"It's Harry, Jess!" Kate stuttered and handed me the phone. I took the phone almost dying due to frustration. 

"Hi!" Harry said.

"Hi!" I replied.

"Why you didn't pick your phone?" He asked worried.

"Actually my phone's battery was dead." I said and he laughed.

"Ok! I'm missing you. Where are you?" He said that really loud and suddnely the car Jerked.

I turned my head towards Luis and his face was full of anger. He again started driving after an appology. 

"I was at a party just going back to the hotel." I said.

I saw from the corner of my eye that Luis's jaw was tightened. He is really angry. Don't know what he saw!

"Ok bye I will talk to you later." I said.

"Bye! By the way your surprise is outside your hotel. It's waiting." He said and I hung up.

Finally our stop came. I felt relieved that I won't be facing awkwardness from now onwards.

"Thanks!" I said but Luis didn't reply.

Kate was hugging Michael. I turned my head towards the hotel and found someone rushing towards me. It was Harry.

"Hey! Jess." He said and hugged me tightly which made me suffocate. I smiled knowing he would stretch the topic if I won't cope up with him.

"Hi!" I replied.

"You are looking hot!" He remarked with a smile.

"Thanks!" I said. Kate and Michael were now looking at us and Luis also came out of his car.

Suddnely Harry bent on one knee and pulled out a bouquet of roses.

"I love you Jess! I promise I will love you truly this time." He confessed making me feel bad and upset for what I was going to say. 

"Come on! Michael we are getting late." Luis shouted before I could let out what I wanted to say to Harry. Michael hugged Kate for the last time and sat in the car as soon as possible.

I saw Luis eyeing me angrily and sorrowfully all at once. He took a deep breath and sat in the car and went away.

I wonder why he behaved like that? Whatever the reason might be but don't let it be what I think it is.
