Chapter. 4

After exploring the whole mansion, I got bored, Mrs. Johnson doesn't allow me to help her with household chores, so I decided to make a lunch, then suddenly an idea pops out in my mind. 

 

Let's prepare lunch for Mr. Rude and I will take it to him then I can also return his card to him.

 

"Mrs. Johnson what's Daniel favorite food," I asked,

 

"Oh dear, call me Marry please and Daniel love Indian food"

I grin, when I heard Marry because that's my favorite food too, I can make western, Indian, and Italian food all thanks to the internet.

 

 

I start preparing some special Indian chicken dishes while listening to one of my favorite songs 'Mad at Disney' by Salem because I agree with her on that.

 

 

After completing all the stuff I properly pack everything in a lunch box with some decoration which gives mouthwatering look to the dishes.

 

 

I quickly went upstate to refresh up myself, adding some lipgloss on my lips I am ready to go, honestly, I am not a fan of makeup, after taking my sling bag from the dressing table making sure to put his card in it, I head back downstairs.

Mark' one of Daniel drive helps me to carry a lunch box to the car, seating inside the car I am having second thoughts, what if he got angry by seeing me in his office?, What should I do go back or continue my journey? Then I also don't want to waste all my hard work.

 

After twenty minutes of driving, Mark announced our arrival, in front of us there is a huge glass building around 20 to 30 floors, taking a deep breath I calm my nerves. 'go-ahead Zoya you can do it, it's not big deal' I muttered to myself for confidence.

 

Taking out the lunch box bag with me, I enter in building, after the security check, I start stepping towards the reception desk.

"Excuse me"

 

The receptionist who was busy with her work lookup and ask me in a professional tone,

 

"Yes! How may I help you"

 

Before I could ask her, someone called me from behind,

 

"Z-Zoya"

 

I turn my head to the owner of the voice, only to find Jack standing over with a group of people who may be employees of the company. He walks toward me with a smiling face.

 

"Hey" he greeted me, smiling ear to ear

 

"Hi" I greet him back,

 

"What are you doing here," we ask in unison,

Then we both burst out in a laugh, after few seconds he explains.

 

"Since childhood, I and Daniel are partners in crime so we decided to become partners in the company too because that sounds fun, but trust me working with Daniel it's not fun at all it's more like daily suicide" and continues with laughing.

 

 

I chuckled at his reaction, then he asks me again.

 

 

"So what are you doing here 'Mrs. Zoya Grey' " he emphasized the word, Mrs. Zoya Grey. I blush at it.

 

 

"Uhmm, I bring lunch for Daniel", I replied shyly,

"Ohh! Lucky man, I am starting envy to him" he said with a  playful grin.

 

"Oh you can also join him if you want, I brought enough for you two and I made a special Indian dish you should surely try it"

 

 

"Sure, I am going to join you guys, my mouth starts watering already before I couldn't control myself, I gotta go I have a  meeting with clients, meet you soon, bye"

 

 

"Bye, bye" I waved at him, Before he goes back, he orders the receptionist.

 

"Miss Ella, take Mrs. Grey to Daniel's office" then he left.

"I am sorry Mrs. Grey, I didn't recognize you before, by the way, Congratulations" she smiles politely,

 

 

"Please call me Zoya, and that's completely fine, and thank you"

 

Walking into the private lift, we stop at the 30th floor, Ella walk by my side, after few seconds of walk in the  long corridor we stop by Daniel's assistant desk,

 

"Mrs. Berganza, she is Mrs grey, she wants to see Mr grey," Ella inform her,

 

 

"Ahh! I know hello Mrs grey, nice to meet you but Mr.Grey is busy in a meeting" Mrs. Berganza said.

 

"Hello to you too, No problem I will wait for him"

 

"Okay, let me show you Way of his office" then we walk toward his office.

Pushing the big door of his office Mrs. Berganza give me a way to walk in, I 'thanks' her, she turns to go back to her work not before telling me to call her if I need anything which I respond with a small nod with a smile,

The office carries classic and modern combination with desk, black couch with tea table and huge glass wall window behind the desk through which we can see the whole city, I get busy admiring the beauty of the city,

 

 

After waiting for good 15 mins, uncle Matt call me to meet him urgently because he is running out of staff, so I decided to visit him, walking towards Daniel's desk I pull out his card from my purse and put it in the first drawer so he can easily get it.

Walking out from his office, I bumped into someone and her files fell on the ground all the paper spread over the floor.

 

"Oops! I am so so sorry I didn't notice you" I apologize and bend down to pick up the paper.

 

 

"You-- oh Mrs. Grey, I am sorry, I didn't know it's you," she said, I don't know how she knows me, maybe she attends the wedding yesterday.

 

 

After I pick up all the paper, I notice it's company financial report, and me being me I start to analyze it,

"Uhmm, Mrs grey reports, I am getting late for a meeting"

 

"Oh, I am so sorry, here take it" I return her all the paper, and walk into the elevator.

"What took you so long 'Miss Milton' " Daniel asked sounding pissed,

 

" I am sorry Mr. Grey, I bumped into Mrs. Grey"

 

"W-what did you say?" He was taken aback,

 

"Mrs. Grey, your wife, I was in hurry to come here so I didn't notice her coming from the opposite side " she start babbling,

What the hell is that woman doing in my office, who gives her permission to enter my company. What's she up to. 

 

 

"Did she saw this paper"

 

"Yes! She was--- "

 

"Okay, let's continue this meeting" he cut her off, 

'Because I know what she up to now more money, doesn't one million is enough for her or she wants more than that, oh god how can I live rest 364 days of my life with such a gold digger', he thought,

After ending the meeting, I walk into my office sitting on my office chair I push some of my important files in the first drawer and close them with a bang. clench my fingers in a balled fist, taking a breath to control my anger.

How can mamma do this to me, how can she got me to marry such a big gold digger, actually I don't blame her I am sure that woman emotionally blackmail my mamma?

After few minutes, the office door flew open and revel my best friend Jack,

"Hey, dude" his cheerful voice echo in the office,

Making himself comfortable in front of my desk on the couch, opening the button of his suit he rubbed his palm against each other and said licking his lips,

"Get ready to attack" then I notice the lunch box lay on the tea table,

 

"Who brought that," I asked in confusion because I remember I had never ordered something,

He looks at me with raised eyebrows as if I grow two heads,

"Dude of-course  your wife, who is married over here," he said while rolling his eyes on me,

"She brought lunch, for me," I asked in disbelief.

"No she brought dinner, don't you know it's already night time and we are working at night like owls," he said in a sarcastic tone.

Oh don't mind him he is always like this, sometimes I wonder why I became his friend in the first place,

After serval bites, he moaned like a girl.

 

"Mmmmm, dude I never had such delicious food ever in my life, dame man you're so lucky to have a wife like her, I mean she cooks your favorite food taking care of you already," he said in an amusement tone,

 

"Your mamma was right she is really special"

"This all is just a trap," I said in an annoyed tone, throwing my hands in the air, why do people call her special, can't they see her real face,

"What do you mean by that," he asked, entirely busy savoring his mouth with food,

"She came here for getting information about our financial report" I explain to him,

 

"And, how do you know that" he interrogates me, continue moaning which make me curious about how delicious the food is that my friend here completely smitten over her,

I walk toward him, settle myself next to him, and seized a spoon from him.

"Mine," I said and savor some food into my mouth, 'mhmm it's delicious, I will truly appreciate it, only if I don't know, what she is up to'

"She international bumped into Miss Milton, for getting information about our company financial report," I said while controlling my anger, savoring my mouth with different types of delicious food in anger which only thing that kept me calm,

"And how she knows Miss Milton carry our company financial report at that time, and how the hell she even knows that Miss Milton is are the assistant manager of the finance department," he said in completely an annoyed tone,

"Why are you taking her side, who is your friend here," I asked him while raising my eyebrow, he meets her only a few times and already defending her,

"Oh hello, Mr. Daniel Grey I am talking about facts," he said in defending tone, raising his both hands in surrender,

"But that doesn't mean she is not a gold digger," I said getting annoyed,

"Then prove it to me," he said boring tone, taking the chicken wing to savor in his mouth,

"Just wait and watch, I will show you," I challenge him with a smirk.
