May worked us hard as usual. She had us sparring with one another after teaching the other students a new move to use with their shadows. Damon had been trying to speak to Jesse the entire time, but May kept them separated. I don’t know how she knows. I doubt Jesse told her.
“Did you tell May what happened?” I asked Augustus. That doesn't really sound like him though.
“No. Although, that would have been a good idea.” He sighed. “I still can’t believe he’s her intertwined, and I thought you had shi.t luck.”
He shook his head, making his curls bounce around him. His gold eyes watched Jesse as May spoke to her. I wonder who told her then.
“Yeah, you definitely have the best of luck of the three of us.” He might not know it, but he has Nova in love with him. Ares

He was so cautious about everything he did back then. It was making him this shell of a person. Eventually, his grandma Ramona showed him how to turn it off when he was 6. Augustus' P.O.V. Ares traveled us all back to the center of the maze, where just an hour before we had been having fun. That was the longest and most intense hour of my life. Andy's P.O.V. My worst nightmare played before me. Ares had been wrapped in dark smoke and pulled away from us before my eyes. I tried to reach for him, but found myself grabbing air. He was gone. I've been practicing with Umbra and we can use the darkness better," Jesse said, answering the question of how we would get there without anyone having to ask. Augustus’ P.O.V. Christmas was approaching us sooner than we would have liked. Instead of enjoying the holiday season we had all been on pins and needles, just waiting for the day we would face that crazy dark witch again. Ares trains every day with Andy by his side.
